Avatar m tn Over the past two weeks I have had a pain in the lower right abdomen which comes and goes. Since monday the pain is more frequent. I was booked into hospital and CT scans were conducted and any signs of kidney stones were ruled out as I have suffered on two occasions with kidney stones over 2 years ago. Also blood work was done and results came back fine. My appetite is normal and sometimes I have the slight runs.
Avatar f tn My fiance has had moderate pain in his lower right abdomen for about 6 weeks now. He says the pain is worse when he's been sitting for a while, but is not dependent on the food he eats. His doctors is very inattentive and it's preventing him from going back after his last appointment. He had a chest X-ray to see if it was a muscle or skeletal problem, but the X-ray showed nothing abnormal.
Avatar n tn The place which you describe can become painful in case of an abscess or an infected hematoma in abdominal muscles. It could also be a periumbilical hernia that has got trapped resulting in small bowel obstruction or mesenteric ischemia. Early appendicitis too behaves this way and so does peptic ulcer. It could also be cystitis, urinary tract infection, diverticulitis or inflammatory bowel disease. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.

Avatar m tn about once per month i get this severe pain in the upper right side of my abdomen. nothing seems to help it so i just have to wait for the pain to subside, which usually takes about 5-8 hours. The pain is bad enough that i can't sleep and usually just spend the night walking around because that seems to dull the pain a little bit. At first I thought that it would be from eating spicy foods and at first after cutting them out of my diet it worked, but lately the pain has returned.
Avatar n tn let me begin by saying that i will not have access to medical staff for about 2 months. 2 months ago, i began experiencing slight discomfort in a small spot in my upper right abdomen. this spot is below my right nipple, parallel to my stomach. since then, the discomfort area seems to have grown some and become more constant. it seems to bother me more toward the end of the day, but i can't tell if it's due to my posture or appears more after i eat or exert myself.

An ultrasound or CT scan of abdomen will not be able to diagnose Crohn’s , diverticulitis etc. Yes, it is possible for a spinal nerve compression to cause referred pain to the abdominal area. To know the cause a MRI would be required.

Avatar n tn chronic involvement of appendix (many a times ultrasound misses this as the appendix in such cases is hidden behind loops of intestine and typical symptoms of appendicitis are absent), involvement of kidney and inflammation of your intestine. Lower right abdomen pain is commonly due to appendicitis. The pain, can at times come and go and not give the classic picture.
1129974 tn?1260096606 Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, IBS, infection in kidney, kidney stones, constipation, ovary involvement in women (like cysts), ectopic pregnancy in women (not likely as you have a 2 month long history), mesentry (a thin tissue that carries the blood, nerves and lymphatics for the intestine) involvement, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle can all cause lower right abdomen pain. Ultrasound will rule most of these out.
