Avatar f tn My fiance has had moderate pain in his lower right abdomen for about 6 weeks now. He says the pain is worse when he's been sitting for a while, but is not dependent on the food he eats. His doctors is very inattentive and it's preventing him from going back after his last appointment. He had a chest X-ray to see if it was a muscle or skeletal problem, but the X-ray showed nothing abnormal.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am a 24 year old male and I've been experiencing pain in my lower left side for about a month. The pain sometimes feels like its right below the rib on my left side and sometimes it feels like its lower than that. It hurts more if I put pressure on my left side or if I lay down on either side. The pain is sharp at times and dull at others. When I have attemped to lay on my left side the pain not only hurt on my side but also the lower left portion of my back.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, i recently developed pain in my lower abdomen, the soreness is usually on left and right sides on my lower abdomen, no pain in the middle part. I was wondering if anyone have experienced the same thing and what might it be.
Avatar f tn This was about 6 months ago now and it is still the size of a pea it dosent give me any bother but i have been feeling unwell for a while now, like dark bleeding between periods, lower back pain, lower abdomen is quite sore sometimes bout everey 5-6 weeks this comes on and sexual intercourse is tender and sore on the inside, at the cervix and on my lower abdomen, im just wandering if these might be connected in any way.
1012432 tn?1250876069 If this is the case and both the pain in upper part also started then it is probably a muscle pull in the upper part of abdomen and a nerve compression below at the back. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn The origin of pain can either be in the abdominal muscles or inside the abdomen. The place which you describe can become painful in case of an abscess or an infected hematoma in abdominal muscles. It could also be a periumbilical hernia that has got trapped resulting in small bowel obstruction or mesenteric ischemia. Early appendicitis too behaves this way and so does peptic ulcer. It could also be cystitis, urinary tract infection, diverticulitis or inflammatory bowel disease.
Avatar m tn Hello, The various possibilities which present with such pain in the lower left abdomen are diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, bowel obstruction, ovarian cysts and pelvic inflammatory disease, irritable bowel syndrome , kidney obstruction or pyelonephritis, psoas abscess and volvolus (twisting of the sigmoid part of the large bowel on itself). Investigations like ultrasound abdomen, CT abdomen and colonoscopy are required to confirm a diagnosis.
Avatar f tn On the second to last day of taking my antibiotic I began to get pain in my lower abdomen and also in my back which seemed similar to when the UTI was present. I went back to my doctor and gave a urine sample but the test came back negative. For the past 4 days I have been in quite extreme pain and discomfort with abdomen pain and pressure. I also get pain when I stop urination but not during.
Avatar m tn Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle can all cause lower right abdomen pain. An ultrasound or CT scan of abdomen is definitely required. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar f tn I am 41 years old and had an emergency c-section in January. I then developed an abscess which they had to open me back up and drain. Now it has been almost five months. I have been noticing lately that I sometimes have crepitus in my lower abdomen just below my belly button. It isn't there all the time and it doesn't hurt. I just never noticed it before my surgery.
Avatar f tn Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, constipation, ovary involvement in women (PCOS), ectopic pregnancy in women, mesentry (a thin tissue that carries the blood, nerves and lymphatics for the intestine) involvement, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle can all cause lower right abdomen pain. Since you had a kidney stone earlier, this should be looked into.
Avatar n tn My father expieriencing attacks of very sharp pain in right side of upper abdomen that goes away and come back under lower rib cage with neusea, pain radiates to a lower back. Blood test is normal except CRP high that sugest inflamantory condition but CT scan of abdomen normal, urine analysis normal, gastro scan normal. He is not dianosed and deteriorating. Is anyone expierience simular.
Avatar f tn It is a result of a weakness, tear, gap or opening in the muscle wall of the lower abdomen or groin through which the contents of the abdomen, such as intestine, may protrude through the muscle creating localized pain, pressure and a feeling of heaviness. I suggest you to get this lump examined from a surgeon to confirm the diagnosis. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn I have has a recurring burning sensation in my colon area (lower left abdomen) for a while. It comes and goes. For the last couple weeks it's been more often and hurts a little more. And for the past couple of days, it's been unbearable. I have IBS and have had some constipation here and there. I had my gall bladder out about 8 yrs ago. Other than that I'm not sure what to do. It hurts alot.
Avatar m tn Four months ago I developed pain in my lower left abdomen. It felt like a tearing/cutting pain and was quite localized. My bowel habits remained the same, but my G.P. thought it might be IBS and prescribed buscopan and trimebutine. They didn't have any effect and the pain got worse, particularly when I was sitting or physically active. When the pain began to radiate into my groin and left testicle my G.P. sent me for a C.T. scan.

1511025 tn?1290133257 Pain and discomfort on the lower left side of abdomen just below and to the left of navel can be due to several causes such as Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, adhesions, polycystic ovary in females, IBS, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle. Since you do not have a lump or a tender hot spot, in all probability it is not a muscle.
Avatar f tn My left lower abdomen has a bulge. Sitting is uncomfortable. I have discomfort and some pain in this area and my back. I've had to work laying back. If you see someone driving down the road with their left arm on the car ceiling, leaning to the right, that'me. This started differently - severe pain that would last a few seconds then repeat a 4-5 times. Pain to the touch in my lower left abdomen. Back pain.
Avatar m tn about once per month i get this severe pain in the upper right side of my abdomen. nothing seems to help it so i just have to wait for the pain to subside, which usually takes about 5-8 hours. The pain is bad enough that i can't sleep and usually just spend the night walking around because that seems to dull the pain a little bit. At first I thought that it would be from eating spicy foods and at first after cutting them out of my diet it worked, but lately the pain has returned.

Avatar m tn If it's to the point where it's bothering you you may need to get it checked out. Are there any accompanying symptoms such as bowel issues, types of food you've eaten? I wouldn't necessarily rule out appendix issues either - The symptoms of appendicitis can vary. It can be hard to diagnose appendicitis in young children, the elderly, and women of childbearing age. The first symptom is often pain around your belly button.
Avatar f tn Three days ago, I saw a doctor for pains I was experiencing in my lower right abdomen. He took a pee-test, and the results showed that I had a few infectious cells. He told me that I was probably at the end of a stomach virus, but should be getting better. He told me that if the pain persisted, within two days, I should return to the clinic or to the ER, on account of it could be appendicitis. I am eighteen years old, broke, and under the care of my parents who refuse to return me to any doctor.
