I have a recurring abscess on my right breast for almost 2 years now. I remember that I have a "white head/black head" on my chest so I picked it and removed it and I think it's where it all started. i am a guy. but i there's a small lump in my right areola(??) sometimes it's painful when touch. do men get breast cancer? ... will the lump eventually disappear or need to be surgically removed. i appreciate any professional opinions.

i had stage 1 breast cancer diagnosed Dec 2008, in both breasts resulting in a double masectomy. I have gone through implants and nipple reconstruction. last week i had one breast very tender, red and feverish. I went to my surgeon yesterday. She sent me for a sonogram and now I'm scheduled for a MRI tomorrow. Anyone ever have a situation like this? I was hoping it was an abscess, but now worried it could be return of cancer. I was diagnosed with recurrent subareolar breast abscess in 1988, I have had 10 surgeries duct and tissue have been removed and tribes but into drain..this foe seven years I had no issues and then if was back again in the other breast. Had one surgery then and no more issues for that breast. However my last my other breast no so lucky. It has been three years and no relief....just got back from Dr. And he did say we could try surgery but from past experiences it caused more issues for me.

I had GMfor 9 months and I have been abscess free for 9 months. My GM breast is smaller. The lumps are gone. The breast does feel lumpy in some areas, but doctors say it's probably scar tissue. In Nov 2008, I had a swelling below my right breast which was diagnosed as "Abscess". It would ooze out puss with blood and was very painful. After healing,a scar developed around that spot and A FOUL SMELL THAT OF PUS actually emanates from that area(i.e when you touch the area surrounding the scar) What could be happening inside?

Hi! I've been abscess free since July. I'm not convinced I'm completely healed but it did taper off towards the end and the last abscess was literally a few drops. My rheumatologist put me on hydroxychloriquine (brand name, Plaquenil). It is an anti-malaria drug. It is less harsh than steroids or methotrexate. We are not sure if the medication began to work or if was just the regulation of my hormones. I was diagnosed while pregnant last fall, and delivered at the end of April.

I'm 60 and healthy but just two days ago I found a lump in my left breast at the nipple area, the area is red and it hurts, should I be worrying about this? I've heard that lump at the nipple area are the most dangerous?
