Avatar m tn I think some of the reasons why I have bad breath is because, I have acid reflux, esophagus problems, and gum disease. I am currently going to the dentist to get everything taken care of. It's so hard to get rid of the bad breath and I don't know what to do. My question is: What are some of the best ways to get rid of bad breath? Thanks and have a great day!
Avatar f tn Especially if the only thing wrong with her is bad breath...! Chances are, it could just be her teeth, but....My Yorkie..( 15 years ) had very bad breath...and was acting normal. Eating normal. She would have an occassional accident in the house and needed to get out more often at night....it turned out to be Kidney Failure. Now don't panic...I'm not saying your dog has kidney failure just because she has bad breath...
Avatar m tn A loose crown can lead to lodgement of bacteria under it and cause bad odour.Other causes of bad breath from mouth are tooth decay, sinus disease or gum diseases or reflux disease. Tonsilloliths can also cause bad breath, sore throat, white debris, difficulty in swallowing and tonsillar swelling .These are only possibilities. Seeing a doctor for accurate diagnosis is important. Do keep me posted. Best luck and regards!

Avatar n tn I just realized I still have bumps on my gums in those same spots but no pain, no funky breath. Could I still have 'bad stuff' down in the gums that the extraction didn't remove and perhaps not feel any pain since the nerves have probably been whacked? I'm not the type to self treat, I'd just prefer not to sound like a hypochondriac to the dentist.
4328950 tn?1352876936 Hello, There are many causes of bad odour from the mouth like gum disease, halitosis, tooth decay, abscess etc. Poorly fitting dental appliances, yeast infections of the mouth, and dental caries are few other common causes. Respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia or bronchitis, chronic sinus infections, postnasal drip, diabetes, acid reflux and liver or kidney problems are few other causes of bad breath.

Avatar n tn A root canal was performed and then the crown was fitted. Recently I noticed bad breath. After a while I figured out that the source of the bad breath was the gum area right above the crown. If I rub my finger in the gum area just above the crown, it smells really bad. I can even smell it in the floss after I have flossed the crown tooth. My dentist did the ususl once-every 6 months cleaning but the smell persists.

Avatar m tn It can also be upper respiratory tract infection and post nasal drip that could be causing this bad smell. Bad breath, also called halitosis, is typically caused by bacteria that grow in your mouth. Short-term bad breath may be associated with tonsillitis, gastroenteritis, acid reflux, diabetic ketoacidosis, or sinus infection. Chronic halitosis may be caused by poor oral hygiene, gingivitis (gum disease), oropharyngeal infections or a dental abscess.

Avatar n tn I chew between nine and eleven pieces of the 2mg a day. What are the harmful effects of the gum (beside, obvious addiction). And, do you have any suggestions as to how to get off the gum?

189372 tn?1219836958 I can now breath much better through my nose although to be honest I do not feel much better, or dare I say worse. Immediately after the operation I had sores on my tongue and an abscess on my top tooth . Worst of all I have had extremely bad heartburn/Indigestion since the operation and my wind pipe has been painful. At a guess I would say its ulcerated, as with my mouth if the skin is broken it normally means ulcer time.
1462810 tn?1327364049 just try it- a slice of raw garlic wrapped in a bit of gauze placed between the lip and gum over a tooth abscess, within 45 minutes the pain will be gone, with repeated application so will the infection. Your dentist will NEVER tell you about that one. If you want your eyes opened, visit www.naturalnews.com . If you use Facebook you can "like" their page and you will get regular updates to your home page. Also www.earthclinic.com, just amazing what natural substances can do!
Avatar f tn Now lips and chin number. On 2 antiobiotics since original opening of abscess--Flagyl and Clindomycin. Area of abscess better but pain in face and numbers lingers on. Have felt very sick. WBC was normal but this was after many days on antibiotic. Sed rate high. Went to dentist first who thought it was salivary gland infection-def not a tooth. Went to ENT and she said not salivary gland. They could see infected area.
Avatar f tn , i am going in for an ex-ray on Tuesday,my question is, can a wisdom tooth that is under the gum be able to stay there ,as long as it doesn't cause any pain, without being removed for a lifetime? also, instead of pulling it out,can they just cut away the gum and allow it to come out?
Avatar f tn I looked in my mouth last night and it looks like I have a wart or abscess on my gum on the bottom right behind my tooth. My gums on my cheeks seems as if they are swollen on each side inside my mouth and there is a white film like substance on them. I have read how hard it is to detect Oral Cancer. I contacted the Ear nose and throat clinic and they said they do not test for Oral Cancer. I just don’t know what to do next as far as getting tested for Oral HPV Im just at a loss.
Avatar f tn Saw a dentist and doctor recently. I've had all sorts of symptoms for 2 + months. I'm so scared that I hVe a brain abscess. Please help... Thank you...
Avatar f tn he also has bad breath, which he has had for a long time. we are hoping that it is just some bad teeth or an absess in his mouth. we took him to the vet 2 days ago and she was unable to look in his mouth as he gets nervous at the vet office and will nip (he has always been that way). the vet did a complete blood panel and listened to his heart and lungs and all was normal. he is scheduled for a "dental" under anestesia. does this sound like it could be a dental issue?
Avatar f tn First I would suggest getting a second opinion. If they still think it's a tumor and not an abscess or poor healing, then I would take chest X-rays to see if it has spread (metastasis) to the lung (the most common place). Then I would at least get a biopsy if your parents are so unsure. Why? Because it's tough to diagnose cancer just by looking or feeling! In a dog, there is a 50-50 chance that it is cancer vs. not cancer. And of course, it's could really be a result of the bite.
Avatar m tn One of the causes of maxillary sinusitis is a tooth abscess that has leaked the infection into the maxillary sinus. The teeth may be X-rayed to find this. • Ethmoid sinuses. If infection occurs, you may get puffy eyes and pain between them. The sides of your nose may get tender to the touch, your nose may get stuffy, and you won’t be able to smell so well. You may also get a splitting headache, felt most intensely in the forehead. • Sphenoid sinuses.
