4 years ago, i had a skin abscess in my right side near the groin (as shown in the photo link below)
it drained on its own but i went to a doctor and he just gave me antibiotic, after 4 years i seeked medical care because i had some concerns about the scar, the doctor recommended an ultrasound of the internal organs of the groin area and i did it and there was nothing, i feel no pain but i'm still concerned, is this really a scar?

If you are successful in doing this, keep the area very clean (you can use baby wipes for easy repeated cleaning) and follow this with talc powder to keep the area very very dry.
Since you indicate you get recurring groin abscesses, you might also try applying something like polysporin cream regularly to the area, to try and keep new abscesses from forming.

You are correct because it can be a cyst or abscess in the perineal area. It does not look like Bartholin’s abscess. There are glands in the vaginal lips called Bartholin’s glands. These can become painful and swollen, and an abscess can form but they present on the vagina and not the groin.
She needs incision and drainage and a course of oral antibiotics as soon as possible.
And getting fever around 99.4F from the last week. Also i recently discovered a node has swelled up in groin area left side. Also having an abscess on left buttock which itself has ruptured and pus is draining. Also feeling slight congestion in throat. What's causing the fever and why node swelled up.I heard that low grade fevers could indicate something serious. Plz help i am worried. All my blood works (CBC,LFT,KFT, Thyroid, Blood sugar)were normal 1 month back.
Dear Guys, I developed abscess three times with in two weeks interval in my groin area.....the last two were big and required surgery with full ansthesia. My doc therefore suggested to escape the shot at least for one week so i did not take the shot last week. I continued to take it again but I developed another abscess on the preannal position. I am afraid it will force me to discontinue the therapy. Has any one exprienced such problem during therapy?
Straight to the point. For about a week now, my entire groin area has become red and irritated. It itches and burns constantly. The red area extends from the space between my scrotum and rectum up to the creases between my legs and groin. It has not reached on to my scrotum or penis. Some areas have become a pale nasty color. The inner walls of my thighs have become swollen, making it very difficult to walk without pain.
The abscess wound seemed to be healing but I started getting very itchy and red around the area (groin and anal region) and started noticing pimple-like red spots on buttocks. I had been using the manuka honey daily for about a month, before this itchiness, irritation happened. After about a week of that, I noticed some red bumps that looked like mosquito bites on my torso/upper abdomen area.
a few days ago i noticed a place on my right butt cheek in the middle closer to my hip then the middle of my cheek that goes around to my groin area on my leg there are a few nodules......my doctor measured it it is 26 inches long just unfer the skin few nodules ...it doesnt hurt unless it is touched ...im not running a fever....my doctor has no clue she said she has never ran across anything like it ...is there anyone who might have any clue?
I was diagnosed with MS in Feb of 2011. My symptoms started with tingling/numbness in my feet that worked it's way up my legs and into my groin area. The symtoms have subsided in my legs and groin area, but the tinglin in my feet has never gone away. I've also been experiencing daily tremors and twitches. Within the last week, I've been experiencing pain behind my knee and last night I felt a bulge. It is not an abscess, but more of a swell.
I had a pain under neath my groin area, between the groin and thigh. It was red and I just assumed it was a bad stretch mark. Well just recently the skin split and it looks like a red tiny circle as if the skin had just disappeared. It hurts bad and has a cheese like smell around the area. I though it my just be jock itch but I've never had my skin split to the point of the skin actually disappearing. Any help would be nice?
I was travelling for a month and was having problem in my groin area. My scortum was too sweaty and itchy all the time. Further, on itching , powder like flakes will fall from my scortum and later whole scortum will burn for hours. Cleaning it with cold water and putting some oil would help for few hours only. I couldn't do cleaning every two hours because I was travelling. Coming back home , I read online about ii and symptoms look similar to eczema.
For the last 4 months or so Ive had a thickening of the skin over my right axillae. I has a huge abscess in the area which resolved spontaneously after antibiotics. I noticed the irregularity in my skin soon afterwards. The lump hasnt increased in size but it wont go away either. Any thoughts??....thanks.
I now have this zit/abscess/boil on my groin area. Not on testicles or on penis but on the side of by thigh and groin joint area. It is painful when touched. And i have thigh pain too. But i started having thigh pain after I masturbated yesterday. For the past few months i have been having trouble with over masturbation. So i feel a mild pain on the left side of my thigh and inner thigh. Can this boil be genital herpes?
This needs a doctor's attention. Infections are really not that uncommon in this area. Just say you have a painful blister in your groin when you call for an appointment. If the receptionist tries to put you off to another day, ask to talk to the nurse, who will be more likely to understand it is an infection that is very painful and needs immediate attention.
This has been going on for about a 2 years. Sometimes it happens every few weeks, sometimes a month, or sometimes I'll get 2 within a few days of each other. I can always tell when there is going to be a breakout, because it will feel like my pubic hair is sore, probably near the base of it.
The breakouts always consist of a small cluster of about 6 different sized white pimple like blisters, with red irritated areas around them. The breakout site usually is about a half inch in diameter.
doctor diagnosed epididymitis. No bacterial cause found. Mid july noticed a lump in groin. painless at the time. July 31 got ultrasound done on lump as it began to hurt. showed a 2cm lymph node of benign features. This did not concern my doctor. slowly the pain left the testicle, but lymph node kept hurting. the pain radiated from the lump in groin to my upper thigh, right buttock, and started moving up into the space between the top of the hip (ilium bone) and beneath my ribs.
It starts as a reddened, tender area that becomes firm and hard. Eventually, the center of the abscess softens and becomes filled with pus. There are several different types of boils depending on the location: furuncle, carbuncle, cystic acne, hidradenitis suppurativa, or pilonidal cyst. Boils could be due to an ingrown hair, breaks in the skin infected with bacteria, foreign material that has become lodged in the skin, or plugged sweat glands that become infected.
