Avatar f tn Then as soon as that was fixed I got an abscess that joined up to my anus. Had it lanced and drained/packed and put on antibiotics. Then just recently I have had a abscess develop on my right labia minora, which poped on its own, but not even 5 days later it was back and had to go to theatre for drainage. I have now been informed that during the surgery the doctor picked up on a systolic grade 3 heart murmur. Please has anyone else experienced this it know of anyone who has.

Avatar f tn Because the puss was kind of all over, I was put under anesthesia to have a small surgery incision and drainage. He made an incision on the side/edge of my areola. After it closed up and healed you couldn't see the scar, it totally blended in. Now the mass is back in the area again and this morning some drainage started leaking from that old scar. Hope everything is okay!
1399266 tn?1280637104 This cat has failed the pre anesthesia test twice after having complications during her spay surgery so we are reluctant to put her under to pull her tooth. The vet is new to us as we have move two hours away from our regular vet. They keep telling us that surgery to pull her tooth is the only option. We are at our wits end and dont know what to do. Might this abscess clear up with the antibiotics? If so how long might that take?
Avatar f tn I will be going back to my DR for a check up on WED, and I will be sure to report all that I have been feeling. I had a Peri-anal abscess, so the drainage is an open wound near my anus, and is still draining(Sorry if that is too graphic). Is is possible that more could be going on? I have been dealing with a fissure for about 8 months(waited 6 months before seeking treatment, because I was too embarressed of the location) and then this abscess, the Surgeon mentioned Crohn's disease...
Avatar n tn s because the infection is trapped beneath the tooth and there is no ready access for drainage, unless a hole is surgically placed to allow drainage. Sometimes the abscess is so severe that it creates it's own hole by bursting through the skin of the face to facilitate the bodies ability to remove the infection. Your vet is probably correct in wanting to extract the tooth.
Avatar f tn I went home the next day, then returned to the hospital 3 days later with severe abdominal pain and fever. I was diagnosed with a pelvic abscess and severe infection. After a week in the hospital, I was sent home with a picc-line in my arm and a drainage tube for the abscess. I have been taking antibiotics vancomycin and Invanz daily through infusion. I have been home 10 days and the drainage is now cloudy light pink as opposed to the dark pink with clumps while I was in the hospital.
Avatar f tn On Thursday I'm going to get the pus drainage with fine needle. Last time it was very painful even 2 times local anesthesia did not worked for me. Doctor said this happened due to inflammation. Anybody have any idea how to manage the pain. Should I take pain killers before getting it done and which one should I take? Also is it true that if we keep getting drainage done the pus will keep coming back so should we not get it done? Please share your experiences. Thanks all!!
Avatar f tn Next I went to a breast surgeon and she performed incision and drainage and another ten days of keflex. The abscess still would not heal so I had surgery a few days ago in which the surgeon removed the abscess and I thnk some of the infected ducts. My question is what is the likely hood that this will reoccur again, and im not sure if she removed all of my ducts or just the ones in the affected area.
Avatar n tn In the acute form antibiotics are administered and eventually incision and drainage of the abscess are performed. In the chronical form excision of the diseased milksinus and fibrotic tissue with the nipple is mandatory. We do not hesitate to excise the majority of the milksinuses.
Avatar f tn They sent me to a different hospital for oral surgery and the Dr. Made a drain in my gum and inserted a drainage..prescribed a second antibiotic of Metronidozale along with the Amoxicillin..my swelling and pain has gone down but still noticeable swelling and discomfort. How long does this take to go away?? And what can I do to help get rid of it quicker? I'm embarrassed to leave my house and not a happy gal. Thanks.
Avatar m tn After 4 weeks , one day it suddenly started leaking i mean the pus from the abscess and we got it drained and cleaned . He was given 4 more days of antibiotics on the day of drainage , moxclav and fusidin cream to apply in the area for 10 days and to keep the area clean. The place of the abscess is flat now and little redness around the whole from where it was drained . When i asked my child he said it is not paining .
Avatar n tn Hello, This persistent abscess that does not get cleared with antibiotics is called Parulis as this elevated nodule is actually an opening of fistulous tract from some chronic abscess either in association with tooth (periapical abscess) or gum abscess or could be sinus in your case. As I can not do physical exam hence can not say for sure about the origin of the abscess. It needs x-ray and second opinion of a dentist who can examine.
Avatar m tn The healing and recovery time differs from person to person, and of course it would also depend on how extensive the surgery will be,depending on how deep the abscess is located.. I am really sorry if I can't be of much help, but I would advise you to ask your surgeon all the questions you have asked here, and I am sure that you'll be much better informed regarding drainage, healing, and especially when you can go back to work since your job is physically demanding.
Avatar f tn I had an abscess in my right breast 10 years ago and it left a little lump after it healed. Two weeks ago I developed an abscess in the same spot. My GP recommended a week of antibiotics (Augmentin) and it started to drain on its own two days back. I feel a thickened area which hasn't gone down. Should I be worried? The abscess continues to drain slowly and I have covered it with sterilized gauze. Please help.
Avatar n tn The abscessed tooth was swollen under her eye and drained from her gums. During the surgery they flushed it out and the swelling went down. When we picked her up, the area was swollen again. The vet was surprised but gave us antibiotics, pain meds and anti inflams for her. After the meds, she still had the swelling and it was draining again from her mouth (at times if it got really big it would drain clear fluid but it was majority of the time it was blood).
Avatar f tn Please help anyone? 7 wks ago i got an abscess incision and drainage(jus next 2 anus) after being admitted to hospital it literally accured over a 3 day period with antibiotics having no effect, the insision was so small it made the packing of cavity the most painfull ordeal i have ever experienced..
454046 tn?1244565593 Hi, know tha feeling well! Keep eye on blister, could possibly in need of further drainage? I had to have a tube & bad installed *yuk! After mine, cause the removals were so many! Sounds like yours was as extensive too. 4 1/2 hrs. to remove all of my Thyroid, 2 nodules from my Vocal Chords & unwrap & free Nerves in neck & shoulders! I had to stay for 3 days in hospital, para-thyroid had to be monitored for potential damages- potassium levels still jiggly.
1670196 tn?1306841245 t an abscess it was a hematoma or a seroma (the drainage tube had not drained anything and had caused A LOT of pain). On 5/11 I was discharged saying that the hematoma was 50% smaller than it had been on 5/5 and would probably continue to drain vaginally like it had been and that it should take care of itself within the next month or so.
Avatar f tn Hello, You are correct because it can be a cyst or abscess in the perineal area. It does not look like Bartholin’s abscess. There are glands in the vaginal lips called Bartholin’s glands. These can become painful and swollen, and an abscess can form but they present on the vagina and not the groin. She needs incision and drainage and a course of oral antibiotics as soon as possible.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed about 2 months ago, and so far had one abscess drain. It started out a week ago as a very thin, watery discharge with blood, but has since turned to thicker, cloudier stuff. It has been about a week. I was on a weeks worth of anti biotic (augmentin) which has made me feel so much better...no anxiety, palpitations, night sweats, etc. but I can tell another abscess is developing. How long does the drainage typically last?
2216535 tn?1339408893 Abscesses generally occur because bacteria have managed to gain access to the fatty layers beneath the skin suture line either during surgery or soon after surgery. They most commonly occur because the pet was allowed to lick the surgical wounds and, consequently, introduce mouth bacteria into the surgical incision line/s (bacteria travel down the wet sutures, deep under the skin). Infection also tends to occur if the sutured wounds are allowed to get wet (e.g.
Avatar n tn I get a gross taste when I yawn almost feels like pus draining throught my 2nd to last upper molar on the right side of my mouth. I have had all my teeth checked by a dentist and no abscess has been found, or anything else that would explain the drainage. I have been seeing a lot of doctors recently, none of which seem to help me out with anything. I get some dizziness, and pressure in the ears sometimes as well. I also have what feels like swelling on my hard palate.
Avatar m tn So about 3 weeks ago I had my perianal abscess drained and the healing process went quite well until about 1 week after the drainage small spots started to appear around my anus and near where the abscess was. My doctor prescribed me with a 1 week course of antibiotics which seemed to clear them up. However, more spots have started to appear but more itchy and painful and also when they burst the pain seems to ease. So are these spots anything to worry about?
