Abilify withdrawal symptoms

Common Questions and Answers about Abilify withdrawal symptoms

abilify

Avatar f tn Oh god. Geodon has horrible withdrawal symptoms for most people who take it even after a short period of time. I hear it's like trying to come off of hard drugs. If you're lucky you won't have any withdrawal but I'm guessing you are by the nature of your question by asking how long your withdrawal should last. I unfortunately can't answer how long it will last from personal experience but I've heard it can last four weeks.
Avatar n tn If someone goes off medication so rapidly then withdrawal symptoms will definitely occur. However, even when I was titrated off Seroquel to Risperdal at the exact rate my psychiatrist stated I had flu like withdrawal symptoms that passed after a while but I did feel sick and have to rest up.
Avatar f tn My daughter reduced her Abilify from 10 mg to 5 mg a few days ago. She is also experiencing bad headaches and nausea. How long did your symptoms last?
Avatar f tn The thing they usually do is reduce the dose and wait until withdrawal symptoms go away and then reduce it some more.
Avatar f tn Good luck, paxiled gave you the right information.

Avatar f tn Just wondering is it because of coming of the olanzipine. How long do withdrawal symptoms last? Has anyone else had the same problem coming off olanzipine?
Avatar f tn I'm currently prescribed 50 mg of Methadone and 10 mg Abilify but I have noticed a major increase of drowsiness. I have even lowered and started taking half of my abilify and split dosing my methadone and I have been able to function much better and much lower feeling of drowsiness through the day. I also have tired to go a day and a half without abilify and noticed restless legs.
1564087 tn?1308947518 I took abilify for a month and it really helped me without any problems! No side effects! I don't know anything about effexor, neither for the mix of both. You should see how you feel with it! I couldn't take lithium 'cause i had tremors and didn't feel well in general with it. I hope for you that it will work just fine! Good luck!
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. I'm new here and pretty desperate for answers, since no amount of research has helped and every doctor I've seen think I have adjustment disorder or postpartum depression...they won't actually take the time to listen to my progression of symptoms, so I decided to turn to a medical forum in the hopes someone out there can provide insight. I went on Abilify in December 2011, by itself--I was not taking anything else at the time, not even birth control.
2190999 tn?1504988891 t have any withdrawal symptoms. I obviously had motion side effects.
712802 tn?1274645485 I was on Cymbalta 60mg once daily for Fibromyalgia & it truly helped with the muscle spasms. I did not notice any increase in my fatigue, which all Fibromyalgia pts. experience since it is one of many symptoms of this disorder. My psychiatrist also prescribed generic Adderall twice daily to help combat the fatigue & it does help tremendously. Be aware any amphetamine based drug can also awaken any OCD type behavior.
Avatar f tn I dont think Abilify works for depression alone. I ran out of my effexor xr (antidepressant) and only took my abilify and was a real mess for a week.. It was as if i werent taking anything. The abilify doesnt work alone in my case. Its only a booster pill, so to speak. I was tearful and restless without my antidepressant. However that could have been withdrawal or something.
Avatar f tn Having racing thoughts, anxiety, mood swings, bone pain and sweats. From what I’ve read, this is Abilify withdrawal. Do I just have to feel awful until Lamictal dose is high enough to be therapeutic? Thanks!!
Avatar n tn Not to long ago I felt really depressed and went home one day and started taking the abilify and got presecribed abilify, I took it everday for a while but was still smoking. I stopped taking it again and I was depressed just not that many days ago. Now I dont feel depressed but emotionless. I dont care about anything, things that use to depress me dont anymore and I have no wants and cant seem to get excited about anything. I think about the fact that i cant seem to feel anything all the time.
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed 300 mg of Effexor, plus 5 mg of Abilify 7 years ago. Last year I decided to ween myself off. At the start 2012 I started to take 150mg everyday in addition to the 5mg of Abilify; 6 months later I then started taking the 150mg everyother day. Now I am trying to go every 2 days; by the second day I am really feeling the withdrawal effects. Today is Thursday, the last time I took the meds was Sunday. I keep pushing myself each day to NOT take the Effexor.
Avatar f tn Okay so my doctor has decided to take me off of abilify but now Im having headaches. Is it because of the abilify and not being on it? Has anyone else experienced this? They are excruciating at times and I can't seem to rid myself of them. Ive put in a call to her office but no return call as of yet. Im just curious if the headaches are related to this because I wasn't having them until I went off the abilify as of last week.
Avatar f tn Since starting abilify I have been seeing and dreaming strange things. It is almost to a point where it almost feels real. Also with the hearing voices and hearing other stuff it causes me to jump up straight (causing severe dizziness and nausea) from being asleep and i will go out my room door and look around in a daze but nothing is there. This happened since i started the meds.
Avatar n tn Hi. Actually Ativan is more for anxiety and Abilify is more for depression but it can also help with anxiety. This is common practice, trust in your doctor. Best wishes.
603015 tn?1329862973 If you stopped the medications abruptly those are typical withdrawal symptoms. It is dangerous to do that. If you are concerned about side effects or that they aren't working as they should speak to your psychiatrist. If you are ever authorized to go off any medication follow their exact titration schedule. I had this happen before recovery and I had some similar experiences so I would be careful and follow through in this manner.
Avatar m tn t need to increase dosage. As for withdrawal, all the meds you describe cause withdrawal. Paxil and Effexor are the two worst for antidepressants, and you seem to have come through those okay. Although benzos are addictive and ssris and snris aren't officially classified as such, all can pack a wallop of a withdrawal or none at all depending on the person. As for what will work, who knows? That's a very individual thing. Any of these could give you insomnia, or make you sedated.
599945 tn?1240382354 That does feel horrible but if you go off the Abilify faster you will have withdrawal akathesia so it seems worse. But if it went away its not something permanent. Its not dangerous. Its a side effect of antipsychotics that some people experience. But the symptoms of the bipolar will return which is way more of concern.
Avatar f tn ) symptoms and not so great for my negative (loss of pleasure, lack of affect, lack of motivation, etc.) symptoms. Abilify works better for my negative symptoms. My cognitive (memory loss, confusion, problems with thinking, etc.) symptoms seem to be getting worse as time passes however. I however have significantly gained weight on Abilify with no signs of stopping even with exercise and dieting so I'm going to request a med change if this keeps up.
1030383 tn?1338460785 I'm withdrawing from Zyprexa, Abilify, Ativan and sertraline. It's been three weeks and I've had terrible nausea, stomach pain, fatigue, and generally not feeling good. How long will this last? And, any ideas on how to deal with mania since I can't just "knock myself out" like usual? I need to get enough sleep to stay out of the hospital!
Avatar n tn So I have a question related to the mix of antidepressants= For the last 18 months the doc added 50 mg's of topiramate and Abilify to a very old mix of sertraline 200mg and 2 mg of Lorazepham daily.. I had stopped functioning well and quit taking the new additional two scripts two weeks ago now it's like I have bugs in the LEFT side of my face and it's making me worried and sore-Is there a bad mix of the four together? How long until this tingling wears off?
Avatar f tn I am on Abilify 10mg and seroxat 20mg. Is it possible to be pregnant on them and how easy is it to wean off seroxat? I have heard horrific stories about its withdrawal...
