Abilify vs zeldox

Common Questions and Answers about Abilify vs zeldox

abilify

1052851 tn?1307741160 Abilify still has the possibility to cause weight gain as well as anxiety, insomnia and agitation. As you said it is trial and error and the doctor is basing her decisions on her clinical expertise on how to treat you in the best manner possible as well as trying to minimize the side effects. Quetiapine and Zeldox are not recommended to take together so you should check with your doctor regarding that.
Avatar f tn I have been on Zeldox for the past 4 months along with Celexa. Before that cocktail i was on 300mg of seroquel, and working my way off of effexor. My reason for switching to Zeldox was because of the low instance of weight gain, and getting off effexor was a must as it made my mania worse. My problem is this. Constant anxiety waking up anxious, having the most minimal tasks like taking a shower cause anxiety. Always there is some kind of anxiety.
Avatar f tn Has anyone used zeldox and found your life became flat and not get as much pleasure out of the things you used to like doing, eating, or drinking. If so did you have the dose lowered and did these things come back?
Avatar f tn Were you still on an anti depressant with the Zeldox? You see Zeldox, and Abilify have just become available in Canada so it seems our psychiatrists are not as aware of actual side affects because when I went to go get my prescription filled a red flag came up in the system telling the pharmacist she couldn't allow me to take both effexor, and zeldox at the same time. Very frustrating....
Avatar n tn I went off Seroquel and tried Abilify and one other (cant remember) but they did not work. I am now backon Seroquel 300 miligrams along with my Lithium and Pexeva. I feel like it doesnt work as well as it did the first time. I went up to 450 with Seroquel, but I am just way too sleepy. Does anyone know a drug that works well with Pexeva and Lithium? My biggest problems are racing thoughts and anxiety when I am off of the Seroquel. Help!
1052851 tn?1307741160 I recently switched over from Quetiapine to Zeldox, as I had gained 30lbs in 2 mths with the Quetiapine, and this was affecting my self confidence, as well as not being able to fit into my jeans. I studied up on Zeldox, and it was promoted to give you the benefits of Quetiapine, but with minimal weight gain, so after discussing it with my Dr., I thought I would give it a try. The first month, I could not sleep.
1052851 tn?1307741160 I told my doctor about it, and she changed the Zeldox, which was 80mg daily to Abilify, which I take 10mg in the morning and 10mg at noon. Will this add on assist with the weight gain? How does Abilify affect the Quetiapine? I would like to drop the noon (100mg) Quetiapine at noon as it tends to make me too tired all day.
1249261 tn?1268868936 I wanted to switch from seroquel to zeldox because of weght gain. my doctor ordered an ecg to test for something before i could start the zeldox. so today he told me there was something with my ecg wgere i couldn't take the zeldox without further investigation. did anyone else need an ecg to go on this med? does anyone know what harm could be done to the heart by taking it? i'm so desperate to lose this weight and feel like i can;t even go out in public because i feel so fat...
2010625 tn?1329372056 Seroquel, Ziprexa, Zeldox (Geodone in the US), and Abilify would be the alternatives to Risperadol. Risperadol made me lactate! Wow was that every weird. It really messes with the girly hormones. I taken all the above and had to quit them for weird side effects. I now take Abilify and it has changed my world. I am doing better than I ever have. It was harsh to start though. It made my stomach so sore for a couple of months. Really bad. But it does great things for my brain.
Avatar n tn t physically do it. I am in the middle of switching to Abilify as the Zeldox was quite sedating and I want to see if the Abilify will work better. Abilify is expensive though. About $300 for 10mg. If you get government coverage they will have to apply for a special exemption as it is not normally covered. Sorry you are having such a hard time. I think brain damage is even harder to treat than bipolar. I would also try to access mental health service programs. You mentioned DBT which is good.
Avatar m tn There is Abilify of course and a new antipsychotic Saphris was just FDA approved (note it works like all current antipsychotics, the next generation ones I've posted about are years off): http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm177401.
Avatar f tn I recently changed antipsychotics from Zeldox (Geodone) 160mg to Abilify 10mg. I am also on 200mg of lamotrigine and 50mg of Trazodone. I took my first full dose of Abilify on Friday the 6th and today is the 11th The Abilify is working about 70%. I have been crying more, I wrote a big long blog about how life is useless because I can't work full time and be a parent and all those other 'normal' things the drug companies promise you that you can do if you just take their drug.
Avatar f tn One good thing that happened to me. The nausea from switching from Zeldox (Geodone) to Abilify is decreasing and I was actually able to eat supper tonight!
Avatar m tn Zeldox (Geodone in the US) caused rapid weight lose for me. It was great at first - lost all the ziprexa weight. In the space of a year I was a size 2 and couldn't keep weight on. So we switched to Abilify. I am still slender but not nearly as bad.
Avatar f tn I have one friend who felt horrid on Abilify and does wonderfully on Zeldox. I know my pdoc said his most common combination is Seroquel for sleep and lamotrigine to stabilize. So I am not promoting any one med - just saying to keep trying until you get some relief.
2196504 tn?1351392195 I moved and got a new pdoc who took me off the antidepressant (which can cause or make rapid cycling worse), and tried some new meds (Trazodone, Zeldox (Geodone), and lamotrigine). That took me part of the way there. Then we tried a different med instead of the Zeldox because I was having big time fatigue issues and switched to Abilify. For me its been a godsend. I have to figure out what it is like to be stable again. Its put me into a bit of a personality crisis.
Avatar m tn i take 80 mg of zeldox 2 times a day. i have these episodes where i am so tired it feels like i am about to fall asleep. it's like when you're driving a car and can't stay awake. does anyone else get this? they are much better now, but still scary.
Avatar n tn On Zeldox (Geodone) I lost all of it and then some to the point it was dangerous. On Abilify it seems about right. These meds have been studied and proven to do things to metabolism, especially Ziprexa.
Avatar f tn Has anyone made the switch back to seroquel after being on Zeldox(geodon). I think its what i need to do to stop the anxiety and irritability i've been having. I know there's a chance of weight gain again, but at least i'll sleep again without waking up at 3 in the morning. To be honest i don't even know if the zeldox helped me lose any weight.
Avatar f tn Ok I've been diagnosed by several reputable hospitals as being bipolar pretty sure I am for 20 plus yrs now. My question is I still work but am starting to get in more trouble with employer for being later and later everyday relating to med sedation. I currently take symbyax 3/25mg once in evening along with lamictal 100mg once daily 1000mg fish oil and simvistantin 40mg per day for high colestoral I'm just coming off my .
Avatar f tn I have started to have sleep problems since I when on a new medication called zeldox. Gradually I would sleep for less and less. It got to the point that I would take 3-4 hours to fall asleep and only sleep for 4/5 hours a night. I stopped the zeldox and now I can't sleep at all. I have tried melatonin 10mg at night but it didn't work. I tried many over the counter sleep aids but they do not work. Anyone have ideas what can help me sleep?
Avatar m tn So does anyone know of a med that can do the same thing as clozapine Because clozapine cause other things like bed wetting and drolling then he does choke in his sleep from it and has thrown up cause of drool and more. He is on abilify already too. Im not sure there is any other med the is heavy duty he is on. I know the doc said there is no other heavy duty med out there like that. Im looking for somthing simialr or less risky or 2 less risky ones they can put him on together at the same time.
Avatar n tn psychiatric meds take a toll on weight gain i gained 66 lbs. from abilify in that same amount of time i take geodon now.
202665 tn?1248806733 I have no proof but I would swear my memory is worse since taking these medications. I am on Lamotrigine, Zeldox, and trazodone. I was fine on just the lamotrigine so I blame the Zeldox. Nonetheless I am willing to trade a few memory issues for a normal life.
Avatar f tn You are on a lot of meds. I was like that yrs. ago; way overmedicated and way overweight. I'm now down to 2 antidepressants and 1 mood stabilizer. (I am also a rapid cycler). Everybody is different and responds to medication differently. The best and most all-around useful mood stabilizer for me has been Topamax. It is an anti-convulsant, also indicated for propylaxis of migraines (which I also have). The great side effect, if you're overweight, is WEIGHT LOSS. Be careful, though.
Avatar f tn Lamictal not very much for me but can happen. Abilify and I believe the other two newly approved antipsychotics, Fanapt and Saphris are less likely to be sedating. Ask your psychiatrist about available options.
