Abilify and zoloft together

Common Questions and Answers about Abilify and zoloft together

Avatar m tn I also take a small amount of Abilify and Klonopin. I have started taking liquid fish oil and I think that it's affecting my medications. Is that possible? I'm feeling a little depressed, angry and annoyed. Any answers and suggestions appreciated!
Avatar n tn I already had severe anxiety with panic, I don't want to add deppression on because of the meds, if this is the case. Now the dr. wants me to try the 5 mg of lexapro and 2.5 mg of the abilify together, but I'm scared! I hate taking meds anyway but want to feel better. I have also been taking .25 mgs of zanax 3 times a day. I don't want to become a zombie!
603543 tn?1255298050 Did you ask your pharmacist if abilify and ambien and any other meds you might be taking, including OTC meds, might be interacting to cause you to feel like this? Sometimes pharmacists know more about adverse drug interactions than dr's. Just a thought.
9395876 tn?1403632187 He says he already thought of the return in symptoms and we could add another medicine such as Latuda. But I am already on Abilify, Neurontin, Buproprion, and Zoloft. How much meds can a body take? Thanks for your reply.
Avatar f tn I don't want to switch the lexapro all together because its def. helped more and has had less side effects than anyother I have been on. I have also tried zoloft, prozax, paxil, and wellbutrin xr. Anyways, I was just wondering what expeirences anyone else has had on abilify? I know it effects everyone different but.....
Avatar f tn I had problems on Lamictil, it caused me migraines and suicidal ideations so I quit it. I am on Wellbutrin and Abilify now and they are working together very well. I no longer have symptoms of being bipolar! I LOVE LOVE abilify. It balanced my sleep patterns again and I feel so much better on it. It is great for mixed state bipolar, which I am. I had side effects in the beginning and started on 5mg. I am now on 10mg and doing quite well.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am on a combo of zoloft and abilify and it has worked wonders for me. The Abilify really helped get rid of the depression that the zoloft didnt handle. You are right in that it is very expensive. My pdoc gave me samples for a long time but now I am buying it in the generic form from Canada. My last prescription for 100 pills (10mg. each) cost me a total of $70.00. The generic works as good for me as the brand name and is so much cheaper.
Avatar n tn Hi Crafty, if you're still here, I tapered and quit Zoloft in March/April and had lots of problems, although not as severe as yours it sounds like...mostly depression, nausea, and rage. It gradually got better over about a month after I completely stopped the medication (which i did early because the withdrawals were just so unpleasant I wanted to get them all over with at once).
Avatar n tn She decided to switch me from zoloft to Lexapro. She said I could immediatly discontinue the zoloft and start on the lexapro 10 mg. I have been feeling a little out of sorts since I have switched and i am wondering if perhaps I should taper off the zoloft and ease into the lexapro.. or does it not matter?
Avatar m tn Then around 7 years ago I started getting panic attacks, so they put me on some benzos along with cymbalta and abilify. Cymbalta was the worst drug I'd ever been on; I felt like a walking zombie... not depressed, just not anything at all. I've been through three or four different talk therapists and a handful of psychiatrists. I've given up on both due to their lack of ability to listen (anyone else notice that?). I now just receive my rxs from my GP, which is fine...
Avatar n tn But I did switch drugs because I was on Zoloft for a year and a half and gained 30 lbs. and could not, for the life of me, lose any of it. I could eat 700 calories a day and exercise 30 minutes a day and still not lose one pound. Took 4 months after going off of it before I could lose anything. I've been losing weight lately, but I've also been working at it.
Avatar f tn I read side effets of drugs like Depakote, Lamactil, Abilify and Seroquel and blanch and yet people who look at Lithium see it as scary... May be that I am biased because it works for me but its nothing to be scared of.
778037 tn?1377989800 all my blood sugar tests have come up normal), my psychiatric issues (I have Aspberger's Syndrome), my weight and all the meds I take (Abilify, Topamax, Lexapro, Metformin and Simvastatin). What really surprised me is that he had his mind made up before he even examined me! The examination consisted of mostly reflex tests of the arms and legs, and two or three short neurological examinations that one of my previous PCPs had performed on me. He never palpated my head or neck.
4810971 tn?1359480360 Prozac Abilify Lexapro Zoloft Wellbutrin Seroquel these are just off the top of my head that i can think of right now. there's a lot more. like, I'll ask her about a random new medication I'm trying, an she'll just say "no, that doesn't work." We're all tired of seeing her like this, even the dogs. It's just killing me to see her like this. Anything that can help???!!! Please, if you know any medications or coping techniques that you know of, please tell me!!!
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
Avatar n tn I was then put of Zoloft plus Topomax. All of these meds were for my migrains and chronic daily headaches. Topomax definitely makes you loose weight. I recently switched to Effexor 75 and still remained on the Topomax, had no weight gain, but as soon as I went off the Topomax (I realized it was hindering my headaches, not helping any longer) I have gained 5-7 pounds. This is making me very depressed, my doctor just upped my Effexor to 150mg and told me to exercise.
Avatar m tn I am currently on a combo of 100mg of wellbutrin, 75 of zoloft and 5mg of abilify and it is working great for me. I do get tired in the afternoon if I dont have something to keep me busy but nothing really bothersome. This combo is the best I have ever been on - I take the zoloft and wellbutrin in the am and the abilify at night. I hope you find something that works for you.
Avatar m tn so we can talk about this condition. and discuss what we can do about it and what treatments are available for it. is anyone interested?
1155813 tn?1336777869 A lot of times I feel like that's what I want, but I don't think I could ever actually do it. Instead I cut, and that helps. Well, off to try and get some sleep. Nite.
Avatar m tn The medications the doctor gave me- ABILIFY and ZOLOFT aren’t working. I was going through serious highs and lows. I wanted something else, something without all the side effects. I was always interested in Medical Marijuana and so I took it upon myself to learn as much as I could about it. I hate putting things that aren’t natural into my body- aka prescription meds multiple times a day. I switched to HempPaste last week and I feel amazing! But I want to come off my prescriptions.
Avatar n tn I know its a lower level drug but Valium and Xanax seem to be great treatment for anxiety...I've been put on Paxil and Zoloft and Buspar and all those "anti-depressives" to me thats the doctors just writting off scripts to get paid from the pharm. companies... next time you go into an office look at all the "promo" stuff there is for all these meds....doctors use the anti-depressants on people as if you're being tested.
Avatar m tn However in my opinion I will go ahead and tell you that you may ask your dr about a mood stabilizer like Abilify. Anything that has a good half life and helps you get some good sleep.
Avatar n tn I went to the local ER again. And they put me on Zoloft and Abilify, as well as Vistiral for my panic attacks. So here's where I'm concerned, because I haven't felt this low in years. Am I going to be okay? With me feeling like this and the Abilify Side effects as scary as they are I just need some reassurance. I forgot how scary this was. I'm not really sleeping or eating. I've lost 20lbs in one week. Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone ever been through this? Please help!!!
Avatar n tn Greenstone) to treat some depressive symptoms. I have been on zoloft at varying dosages since 2004, and since then have been on and off the drug twice. Once last summer, and once this past summer. On occasion I forget to take my tablet and until last week, no effect was felt if I immediately started back on it. Last week I forget to take it for one day and then restart.
Avatar n tn But as for what's approved and available now from everyday results and statistics I'd say Abilify is a good one to ask about. And its best if Xanax is not used long term as a person can build up a tolerance to it. But Rozerem which was derived from Melatonin and actually adjusts the sleep cycle has no potential for addiction and can be taken every day. So there are some ideas right there to speak to your psychiatrist about.
1515545 tn?1291399364 My psychaitrst gave me zoloft and xanax which both helped tremendously. I am on zoloft along with neurontin and abilify now and live a very normal, happy life. I hope that you just need a med change but I agree with the person above that you need to be seeing a psychiatrist who specializes in this problem.
Avatar m tn I was also prescribed Clonazepam to deal with panic attacks and I did not have to take it everyday. They first tried me on Zoloft but it seemed to have no positive effect and was making me feel pretty lousy overall. Then I was on Lexapro up until about almost a year ago, and that was going very well for me. But they wanted to see what had the best effect so they even tried me on Effexor XR, I just switched overnight and actually was okay except for a few minor side-effects.
1526148 tn?1295434820 i recognised myself in your description - overly mad, little more energy, feeling anxious - i get all these together and separately along with agitation and sometimes real anger flashes. i think if we have other things going on for us that makes a difference. you say your head is full of stuff and that alone could be causing you symptoms that seem like something else. with me i was displaying BP type symptoms which are because i am in a long term abusive relationship!
Avatar n tn I'm sorry for all you have been though and she's only 9. I hope the ADD med can bring it all together for her and she can lead a normal, happy life.
