hysterectomy

Avatar m tn I had a salpingo oopherectomy on both sides, a hysterectomy as well as a appendectomy on February 5th 2013. I am 27 years old. Since the procedure was done I have had severe lower abdominal pain while urinating. I have been very sick. Does anyone have an idea of what this pain is from?
Avatar f tn The cervix is usually removed as well, and that entire procedure is called a total hysterectomy. There are two ways to do the surgery. The old-fashioned method is called a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, or TAH, meaning the work is done through an abdominal incision. Recovery time is easily 6 to 8 weeks. A Total Vaginal Hysterectomy (TVH) means the uterus and cervix are removed through the vagina.
Avatar f tn Off and on severe lower abdominal pain of my left side. Ultra sound shows hematometra and abdominal thickening. I am 46 and had a tubal in 2006, ablation in 2011. Should i be concerned?
Avatar f tn s a common procedure, a hysterectomy is major surgery and takes easily 8 weeks to start feeling human again - particularly the open procedure. If lupron hasn't stopped your periods, then something is seriously whacko with your hormones. That's why it might be beneficial to see a hormone specialist (endochrinologist). They can be difficult to find outside a major city, but please think about it before venturing into major surgery.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever had a hysterectomy that started out laparoscopic then went to abdominal? Do you have any advice for recovery ? Tips? Heads up?
1931832 tn?1398880449 I had undergone Total Abdominal Hysterectomy last April 2012. And then after a month, I felt back pain. I thought it was the after effect of drugs during the procedure...as days went on, my knees had the same too..I went to see my OB and required blood tests for Potassium and Uric, it was found Negative, and immediately prescribed Difenax for pain, it helped though, but I had to see an Orthopedic Surgeon for proper evaluation. Undergo series of x-rays for my knees.
Avatar n tn Dr thought it was scar tissue from a hysterectomy since I had to have this procedure 2 years ago. Not the problem. Have had a CT. upper GI, SBFT, ultrasound and xrays. All tests including bloodwork was negative. Did find acid reflux and a small hiatal hernia. Am not having any luck with doctors taking this seriously. Avatar f tn Endometrial and uterus biopsies due to suspicious looking cells and thickened endometrium. Went in for d&c and hystectomy. How long until the abdominal swelling goes down and when should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn If I have a fibroid in the lining of my uterus and calcification of the uterus wall.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am 47 yr/old, recently diagnosed with fibroid tumor, ovarian cyst, enlarged uterus with borderline endometrial stripe 12mm. My GYN recommended partial hysterectomy. I have Hypertension, Anemia. I am scheduled for a colonoscopy on 3/12. I will have my consultation 2/25 to decide on the next step. What about endo-biopsy?
Avatar n tn This was my third, but unlike before, they found no endometriosis. Instead they found my uterus had adhered to my abdominal wall. Because of this, he was unable to move my uterus to look around for endo. The doctor had suggested a hysterectomy (but leaving my ovaries). My question is has anyone had this done and has it alleviated their pain? I've been having IBS symptoms and excrusiating cramping and abdominal pains (like when you have a bad bout of gas) but it's constant!
Avatar f tn 36 year old female who has had a full hysterectomy in 2015 and a subsequent procedure to remove scar tissue and adhesions that was causing pain in 2016. I started having abdominal pain again several months back. Primary care physician referred me to a GI specialist. GI performed an endoscopy to rule at a GI issue. Endo was negative. Visited OB/GYN for normal checkup. OB performed transvasional ultrasound which showed a 2 x 5 x 2 CM mass in my pelvis.
Avatar n tn I was really scared before surgery, I had a abdominal hysterectomy. Please dont worry as they will take great care to make sure you are pain free. you will need to ask for pain killers to take home with you, as that will be the most challenging part.. After the 1st week at home you should start feeling much better. Also make sure you start taking hormones right away, as you will start having hot flashes immediatly.
Avatar m tn Hi. I'm 42 yrs old + have had cervical cancer. In 2010 I had a partial hysterectomy (uterus + fallopian tubes removed - ovaries intact). 2 months ago I experienced sharp abdominal pains (left side) - other symptoms included back pain and bladder pressure (feeling the need to urinate frequently). I have had an internal ultrasound (left side incredibly tender) - results were normal but left ovary not "optimally visible". I then had CA-125 blood test and CT scan.
Avatar f tn I had an abdominal hysterectomy and the pain is not always there now but could there still be a possibility of infection or internal bleeding? I was also told it could be a strain. I guess what i am really asking is, was having sex at 3 weeks a really dangerous thing to do? And is it possible that it wasnt what was making me hurt but maybe just over doing it, housework and maybe too much on my feet? Today and yesterday i have had no pain at all.
1394194 tn?1282571416 I am still too early in my surgery to even consider sex but I just wanna know. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy on July 8th. And stay hungry alot for some reason. Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum. I do believe that The Chiari Insitute has a video on this proceedure and others..... I have not watched it as I am the type that does not want to see that until after and maybe not even then...I have a sensitive stomach.....
Avatar f tn If anyone here has had similar experience, perhaps similar history of more than a few abdominal procedures followed by a hysterectomy, or any other words of wisdom, I would be most grateful to hear from you.
1043568 tn?1253450188 I am 54 years old and I was still pretty regular before the Tamoxifen. My gynecologist is recommending that I get a radical (abdominal) hysterectomy since I am still having periods. I had a D&C last year and had a benign polyp removed. Just had a trans-vaginal ultrasound 2 weeks ago and everything was fine.
