Avatar m tn I read the tag about stomach pains after tennis and my syptoms sound very similar. I am in good shape and exercise regulairly, and it only happens on random days spread by weeks of no problems, and it only happens when I push myself to my limits. I have asthma, but I can outrun any person in my school so I do not think that is a problem. When it happens I usually can't sit still and it feels as if someone is driving a knife into my stomach.
Avatar f tn I'm a fairly fit 51 yr old. Can anyone give me advice about any exercise I can do to help strengthen my tummy and pelvic muscles post-op esp with lg rubbrer ball that you can sit on ?. Also I understand the drs pump a lot of air into your body during the operation. How do we get rid of this as my stomach is really bloated ? Any suggestions ? Thanks very much.
Avatar f tn You need to diet and NO bad carbs that includes white bread, rice or pasta! Plank exercises engage the deep transversus abdominis muscle which wraps around the tummy from front to back, acting as a corset to cinch-in a protruding belly. Do the front plank at home or at the gym on a daily basis for three weeks to maximize ab results. Take a day of rest once or twice a week if you are feeling excessively tired. Do this exercise by lying on your tummy on the floor.

Avatar n tn //www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqkyA3wXy5E i did exactly the same twice a day for less than two months and lost 4 inches.......
Avatar f tn //www.fitnessblender.com/ Although they charge for structured exercise plans, all the video workouts are available for free. You're bound to be able to find something that suits you.
Avatar f tn Balance out your ab workout by doing lower and upper ab exercises as well, such as leg raises, knee pull-ins, crunches and stability ball sit-ups. Do 15 to 20 reps, three to four sets and work out two to three times a week. As for the six pack It takes great discipline and a bevy of sacrifices to bring this to fruition. With that being said, it takes even more of a sacrifice to bring a six pack to reality.
Avatar n tn Booze and smokes are the only things you need to quit, not exercise! You can try new, less cardio exercise too, and not just pregnancy focused stuff. Pilates is great but there's also weight lifting, body weight training, non contact social sport, swimming... You're pregnant, not an invalid ;) Any other fit ladies out there want to share too? What did your doctors say about exercise? 34 weeks of Barre definitely helped me and was definitely not easy either!

Avatar f tn I suggest asking your doctor!! I would think about 6 weeks!! As for a diet & exercise plan. If you were not in good shape before then you may want to start off with an easy workout plan. To firm up your stomach You'll need to do flat ab exercises which works your TVA muscles or you can do isometric abdominal contractions where you squeeze & hold your abs tightly for 10 secs as if you were bracing yourself for a belly punch but,Check out the following!! https://www.youtube.
703362 tn?1427769928 We have had quite a few questions lately regarding exercises to target belly fat, so this morning I thought that it might be helpful to post an exercise that works with that region directly. Please do keep in mind that overall weight loss will be the most effective means of slimming this area, but targeted exercises are a great way to tone up the core muscles that are lying just beneath the surface waiting to shine through.
Avatar f tn I've been working out regularly for a couple of weeks now and eat healthier, but i can't seem to loose my stomach pooch.(To me it seems to be getting bigger.) I exercise for 20-30 min a day doing Pilates and walking and ab and leg workouts. Am i doing something wrong or not working the right spots?
Avatar f tn You can't target fat on a certain area of your body! When you lose weight, you lose it from all over, and you can't control which parts will shed the fat first. You need to burn more calories than you eat, that will force your body to use stored fat for energy and you'll see fat loss. You need to do high-intensity cardio that will max your calorie burn. Start with a healthy diet and incorporate the cardio below or any cardio using the same principal.

579258 tn?1250652943 Don't forget to put this on your exercise tracker!!! Just add the total number of minutes under calisthenics and then you can keep selecting the down arrow until you get to the journal portion and write the number of crunches you did. FYI ... situps, crunches, push ups, pulls ups, squats, calf-raises, and dips are all considered calisthenics.
Avatar m tn I am a healthy person and exercise often but have noticed a lump in throat when swallow that is bugging me. The more I think about it the worse it gets. I know I have anxiety problems and guilt problems so I hope I am imagining it. No fever so far after 2 weeks. My question is do you believe this warrents testing? I know I will test for peace of mind and was gonna just do home access at 4 weeks and 8 weeks and maybe oral home test at 12 weeks.
Avatar m tn (As if I just worked out my abs) - It seems like there is barely any muscle in my ab area. I no longer do any ab exercises because on my first repetition/set it already hurts as if its being pulled apart. - The dull pain is heightened by: o sideways movement/turning in running.
Avatar m tn HI there My wife certainly has a thyroid issue but as usual the initial tests are not concurring with our suspicions. After going back to the GP they now seem dis-interested and reluctant to persevere with us. We don't even mind going private as this would certainly help her standard of life. (Her mum was mis-diagnosed for years with the same condition).
Avatar f tn Hi there - welcome to the community. I'm happy to see that you have lost 25 pounds over the past year. That's wonderful - I wish I could do so well!! I guess crunches would be the best for the belly fat - or you might look into yoga.
Avatar n tn It first came on in JAN2009, one year ago. I pulled my ab muscle when I started back on an exercise regimen. I do have a child, but that was 1 year, 3 months prior to this pull injury. I rested this muscle for months. In July2009, I started back on my fitness goals. While I could feel strain in that upper ab, I would back off if I felt even the slightest pulling or twinge. Over three months from that point, I strengthened my abs to where I was doing unbelievable ab exercises.

"Adequate selenium is necessary for normal functioning of the immune system and thyroid gland. Selenium deficiency has been associated with thyroid disease and a variety of cancers.
579258 tn?1250652943 We'll put our heads together about some good ab workouts. I LOVE ab workouts! Did you know all other muscle groups have to have a day to rest between workouts...? BUT you'll be happy to know that the abs can be worked EVERY day! AIN'T GREAT NEWS? Don't say you don't have time. If you just do 10 crunches/day, how long does that take? maybe 10 seconds? Do those every day and you've done 70 crunches this week. THERE! That's your beginning class.
Avatar f tn Depression also may set in for a few weeks with feeling low on energy. eat well hydrate exercise.. this will also pass.. You can do this as Hubby said and as V said above support is essential.. It would be good to tell your Mom for she should know to not give you pills and in the future, If you need them again you will need your hubby to hold them for you and dole them out so you take responsibly.. Addiction is not the end it is a illness that can be managed by staying on top of your Disease..
Avatar n tn I had a breech baby at 37 weeks and I did an exercise by laying on my back and lifting my ab up so my butt was off the floor. Also I had a doula and she told me that many women have breech baby because emotionally they feel they do not deserve to have an easy labor. She said it had to do with guilt and often abortions or something like that. In my case I went to bed that night and really talked to myself about what I deserved. That night he turned on his own.

Avatar n tn 80)for Smooth Muscle AB, and have a 40/diffuse result on my ANA. My FSH level has been as high as 38 (4 months ago) and has dropped to 19 as of a month ago. I have been taking a baby aspirin daily for the past three months. What is the relationship between anticardiolipins and FSH? I am 39 years old and my menstrual cycle has ranged from 42 to 61 days in length since my second miscarriage last August. I did have a D and C as I was in my 16th week.
