insurance

Avatar m tn It realistically more and more seems to be the only answer especially during this time with all the mediscare going on and the medicaid that will be cut as well for seniors in nursing homes and home health care and the like. I am a member of AARP. I do not carry my auto insurance thru them as it is higher than what I have.
Avatar m tn I'll be starting medicare 10/1 with f plan from United Health Care. And D plan AARP medicare RX . Unfortunately I dad 12 weeks O/S cleared and came back 6 weeks later. So I will be getting into the donut hole to restart sovaldi and ribavirin. With all that said even though my meld is 33 it looks like I'll be going in for another tabe(cemoembilization) for the cancer. My question is F plan will pay for procedure but what about meds, cemo, pain meds and antibiotics?
Avatar m tn Hi community, this weekened I got a letter in the mail that brought me to my knees!!! It said that the COMPLETE part of my PART-D -PLAN as of JANUARY1st will NO longer EXIST. I pay extra for this plan, because it pays for most all GENERIC MEDICATIONS that I desperately need even when I go into the doenutt hole. Thats why I pay more for it. I am in such bad health that I have to have atleast all my GENERICS though out the entire year.
11294269 tn?1422402907 I agree with rambler. And totally understand not having insurance. I live in Oregon and since I'm pregnant I can get on the Oregon health plan but it is taking forever!!! I'm almost 10 wks and so far have not been able to get or schedule an ultrasound because its expensive and I need insurance first. If possible can u go to a free woman's health clinic? They either r free or income based....
Avatar f tn He just started a new job, however, the employer only offers to pay for HIS insurance so I may have to get an individual plan for myself. Your knowledge, as always, is much appreciated!
Avatar m tn Since you are in California and may have access to these same plans although there may be differences because of where in cali we are..... I have Anthem pre 65 Plan F Medicare Supplemental Plan and this year I changed my Plan D coverage to AARP MedicareRX Plans through United Heathcare. They were $10,000 cheaper than my former insurance plan and covered all of my post transplant meds which the other plan wasn't going to do this year (2014).
Avatar f tn Starting in 2014, you can select a private health plan from a menu of choices offered through an insurance exchange run by your state. And your yearly out-of-pocket expenses will be limited. Enrollment and premium protections: Health plans cannot deny you coverage or make you pay more for your insurance because of your health, past medical problems or gender, starting in 2014. But they can raise premiums by up to 50 percent for people who smoke.
Avatar m tn As I said I opted for a plan with no deductible to use in case I have to get an RX without going to the VA. I do know there is a plan AARP(I think) that the co-pay can be as low as $1. But there is a deductible each year you have to pay first.
Avatar m tn Dear Sir, I am a 52 yr old male from Europe(The Netherlands)and enjoy excellent Health-Care controlled by the Government and obligatory by law accesible for everybody without prior medical examination(and affordable insurance-rates).
387294 tn?1207620185 My son and daughter may be looking for health insurance after they leave college and are no longer dependents. My daughter has been diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic heart valve. She has a healthy heart and it is working well. With this impact her chances to get health insurance on her own? Will it impact our ability to continue her insurance after the cobra period is over on our insurance?
Avatar f tn s insurance and wanting to get on my fiancees health plan. Is that possible or do we have that wait until after the baby is born? I don't know if it will interfere with either plan if we got married. Sorry if I'm not explaining well.
Avatar n tn Hi, I just found out I do not have health insurance. We thought it would be until the end of the month but it's already done. I wad still under my moms plan and she was laid off last month. Well I had medical assistance through the state my last pregnancy but they dropped me when she was a month old because of my fiance's income. My daughter still has medical assistance.

Avatar f tn Call your health plan provider. It's different with each state, I believe.
181575 tn?1250198786 Private insurers began offering Tier 4 plans in response to employers who were looking for ways to keep costs down, said Karen Ignagni, president of America’s Health Insurance Plans, which represents most of the nation’s health insurers. When people who need Tier 4 drugs pay more for them, other subscribers in the plan pay less for their coverage. But the new system sticks seriously ill people with huge bills, said James Robinson, a health economist at the University of California, Berkeley.
Avatar n tn What are the best health insurance sites/companies/agents? When you search health insurance you get ehealthinsurance.com, and healthinsurance.org, and http://www.HealthPlanOne.com as the top 3 but I want to know if you have found better ones than these ones.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar f tn Like in the In the information about the health care plan it says that everything is covered I won't have to pay anything but I'm not sure if that would only apply to my mom or not ugh someone help I'm stressed out about this..
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome, unfortunately i have no personal experience with either insurance companies to give you an opinion, you might like to try contacting your local MS society and or MS support group to see if they can provide you with any advice........
6927110 tn?1393318669 Hi everyone, Im 18 years old and currently 29 weeks pregnant. Im due in February but am going to be under different medical insurance as of January 12, 2014. Im under my dad's insurance and he had to sign for a different policy the other day(due to his job). Im curious to see if anyone else has been in this situation as well and if they have any advice for a first time mom? I'd also like to add that currently I have Kaiser Permanente and will have HMSA in January.
1569985 tn?1328247482 I had private insurance prior to turning 65, that insurance continues as a secondary as part of my company retirement plan. That plan is also going down in value, it used to pay 90% (or we split the 20% Medicare doesn't pay) after a $1,200 deductible. The secondary now pays 80%, or nothing, until I hit my maximum out-of-pocket. When I hit the deductible my prescription cost go way down still. My retirement company pays the premiums, so still a best buy.
667078 tn?1316000935 I basically since my diagnosis of MS have only one choice for health insurance through my husbands work. We used to have four plans to choose from. Now it is two a basic and standard PPO. Now they are doing mandatory weight and smoking checks and if one member of the family smokes or has a BMI of 40 or above you are forced to the basic plan. I do not have to worry but my husband is a big muscular guy.
Avatar n tn Alright, so I'm on my dad's health insurance through his work. It's upmc. Well, my boyfriend & I are getting our own place & my dad told me I can't change my address & stay on his health insurance. How true is this? Because I just looked it up & it said that a child under 26 can remain on a parents plan even if they don't live with them. I just want to know for sure because I can't afford it on my own. Especially not with the baby coming.
