Avatar n tn t be scared to eat. But select the right foods. Unprocessed foods. Foods that make your body feel good (not those that are very sweet or processed). Daily exercise. Finding something you enjoy and can continue regularly is also very important. This can be as simple as a brisk 30 minute walk every day - or something else that you like. Hope this helps you.
Avatar f tn By focusing on fresh, unprocessed foods as the main portions of his new, healthy diet, he can start on making his liver as good as new. Lots of fresh vegetables and fruits with minimal amounts of vegetable or animal fats - olive oil is good. Also, keep in mind that your husband's fatty liver is very mild, only grade-1 of a four grade scale, with grade-4 being the worse (well over 50% of the liver being composed of fat).

Avatar n tn I personally eat a Ketogenic diet of 20g or less net carbs a day. Most of my diet comes from meat, cheese and non-starchy vegetables. The high levels of fat in my diet help keep me satiated and promotes weight loss. I also tend to avoid artificial sweeteners as much as possible. I eat gluten free and grain free.
Avatar n tn The best way known to prevent diabetes is by keeping normal weight, exercising regularly, and eating a lower carb diet focusing on unprocessed natural foods; meats, veges, eggs, etc.
Avatar f tn Healthy diet is high in unprocessed and minimally processed foods. This means you will eat lean meats in moderation, plenty of green and brightly colored veges, moderate whole grain cereals, some fruits - but stay away or limit portions of very sweet fruits, nuts, some dairy, healthy fats / oils. Bad carbs could be considered those white carbs that break down quickly. This includes bread, white rice, cookies, candies etc.
5051252 tn?1362970368 i was talking to a friend regarding her diabetes type two, and she said she found out she had this by using a glucose monitor a few times a day for a week, reported her readings to her doctor and they did tests and diagnosed her. she said that her glucose levels were super high, so i decided to buy one just to try and see. i check myself three times a day - and the readings are normally around 80-90 every time, and sometimes that is about 30-60 minutes after eating. should i be concerned?

But carbs in general negatively impact diabetes. The surprise to me on the list was grilled meats. Apparently, meats when grilled and you eat them will damage your insulin receptors and cell membranes.
Avatar f tn For those of us that are overweight and dealing with pcos, losing weight is the best medicine. I lost at one point 60 pounds. I started to gain it back, as I did fall off the diet. I also take meteformin and I do believe it has helped to regulate my cycles. I've been off birth control for about 6 months, and I get a period each month and varys from 28-32 days depending on my ovulation of the month. Eating foods like wheat will help with pcos. I'm now on a 1780 calorie diet plan.

Avatar f tn Have you tried vitamin b6. That can help nausea. Also, I've heard that vomiting can be from foods that are actually an irritant/allergen and we're far more sensitive durning pregnancy. Stick to simple, unprocessed foods if you're not already - vegetables, especially green leafy ones (fruits that are not too acidic). Keep away from wheat and corn based grains...opt for oats ant rice instead. Might help...
Avatar m tn There is a green stevia which is the unprocessed one. Not as good as the white one in flavor. The best for your body is the green stevia. The stevia plant is green in color so I wonder what is being done to it to make it white. I would start with the green if I knew then what I know now.
Avatar f tn Hi Jemma, Coconut oil is not a transfat. It is a saturated fat. The type of fat in coconut, particularly if you use the unprocessed virgin type, is very good for cooking (it is stable and doesn't change), has antiviral and antibacterial properties, it is also delicious in baked goods. Meat and butter and not transfats. They are saturated fats.

Avatar f tn The paleo diet has not been proven to be effective, and all the evidence in support of it is purely anecdotal. That said, it wouldn't hurt any of us to eat a more healthy diet. I know a couple different people trying diet to control their MS but it is much too early to know if it is working for them . MS can go into remission a very long time on its own.
Avatar n tn I feel I've exposed myself to a food which I have an intolerance to since diving deep into looking after my health. I've made a few lifestyle changes at the same time so unsure but I think it might be oat milk. I'm on week 5 of the Wim Hof Method 10 Week Program which is breathwork, yoga postures, meditation and cold water immersion. I swapped almond milk for oat milk (which I've now eliminated again). I've been drinking hot raw cacao drinks.
