Think of T4 as gas in your gas tank of your car. And T3 as the regulator that allows the proper amount of gas into the engine itself.
Clearly if you have no gas in the tank, your engine won't run. But also if there is something plugged or wrong with the ability for the gas to get into the engine (Free T3) then your engine won't run either whether or not your gas tank (free T4) is full or not.
To be conclusive for Hashimoto's you NEED to test for BOTH TPOab and TGap.
People with Hashimoto's will test positive (meaning above range) for one or the other and some people even both Antibody's. So if you just test for one you have NOT ruled out whether or not you may have Hashi.
Ask your Dr why the hell would you be testing a pituitary hormone instead of the ACTUAL thyroid hormone my body actually uses!
How can yo by "hypo one day and "normal" the next.
I am 37 y/o and not pregnant women,but since I was a child I have attraction for kerosene and gasoline, and know every time I go to gas station to full the tank of my car my mouth start watering really bad just for the smell of the gasoline and I just cannot controlled until I test it, if i don't do it, i will have a horrible heartburn and stomach cramps.
Please tell me why?
My son is 3 years old and he tenses his body and makes a silly face during certain activities.He tenses when I'm driving in the car, when he sees a bus at times. He also has a speech disability. Articvulation is the main problem. He will request I want....... He was tested throught the school district and everthing was in normal limits except for speech. The tesing of the body concerns me. I would like to know what i can do? Thanks alot.
Just as a fuel gage in a car is not COMPLETLY useless as you do need a supply of gas and knowing that there is fuel in the tank provides SOME information. Just not the entire picture.

I'd just like to add that FT4 is the "storage" form of the thyroid hormones. It's like the gas in your gas tank. FT3 is the "active" form. It's the only form your cells can use. It's like the gas in your fuel injectors (carbeurator if you're old as me!).
If your FT3 is low, your cells can't get enough T3 for proper cell metabolism.
You only care ultimately what is used. You can have a full tank of gas but if the fuel line is broken or clogged and the engine does not get sufficient gas, the engine won't run well. Same is true with regard to thyroid hormone.
You see the thyroid hormone is in one of two states. The hormone molecule is either attached to a protein (and becomes biologically useless) or it remains "free" and unattached. Your body ONLY uses the "Free" version of either T4 of T3.
I have drove from Vegas to California alone visiting my boyfriend and family. The drive itself is 4-5 depending on traffic. I try avoid using restrooms or stopping for gas just because I get nervous and scared stopping by at unknown places and what kind of creepy people will be there. More like people with bad intentions. So when I do these drives I make sure to pack plenty of snacks, water, gas tank full and ready to go. I also make sure to empty my bladder right before I leave.
I started doing a little of everything 3 times a week, then did arms/abs then chest/back/shoulders/legs twice a week (which took like 2 hours each time to where I was ready to pass out). I am thinking about trying to revamp my routine into a 4 day split with a day of cardio (as my off day). Maybe something like 1-arms, 2-legs, 3-chest/back, 4- shoulders- 5- run, then repeat. I do 3-4 sets of 10-12 reps, also doing a little abs everyday.
Got a little more sore than pinching, but I figured it was because I had a very tight tank top on that bad bunched up and was pushing in right there were the soreness was. I moved my tank top and it let up. It came back over the next week on and off worse when sitting, disappearing while walking and at the gym.
The wide variations in prices is impossible to explain. I do miss the days of having a guy run out and pump gas for me... oh wait! I have a husband who does that for me so I guess I have nothing to complain about.

The Green Machine
Out of my peripheral vision I noticed her looking at me several times. She had a tank top on and started working out close to me and took her tank off so she was just in her sports bra. She knows guys are looking which is kinda annoying I don't like girls like that but anyways I went to my locker and got my water out, turned around and she was on a machine close by and I caught her looking at me.
its random spurts of bubbles like in a fish tank that send very light vibrations almost too soft to feel but I know they are there. yesterday my hubby was resting his hand on my lower tummy and he said he could feel them so now I know I'm not crazy however today I am feeling what I think is the baby moving or even swimming inside me. its almost as if a tiny hand is sliding its hand across my insides. its not constant is about once every half hour or so and I know there is no way its gas.
Think of the Free T4 test as the gas tank in the car. Sure you need gas in the tank to run. But simply having gas in the tank does not mean that the engine is running at all or getting gas.
The Free T3 test measures the gas flow at the engine. Which is why it is so important to have tested. And NEITHER doctor including the "specialist" did that. AMAZING but unfortunately all to common I'm afraid!
