Avatar n tn My pacemaker programmes to 65. If the EKG rated 65 that's the paced rhythms. You can see the pacing spikes all over the place. If I got the rate over 65 (hardly), the pacing spikes also appeared everyway. When I was set rate to 70. My EKG rated 69, there were no pacing spike appeared. All my nature heart spikes were short like a mung beans. But the doctor interpreted that EKG - paced rhythms. I can't see any pacing spike tho. I am not a pacemaker dependent.
Avatar f tn My friend recently had a pacemaker put in. Every since then she has had trouble is sudden drops in Blood Pressure. She has also had a problem with extreme increases in pulse just by standing up. Are these side effects, and should she be concerned?
Avatar f tn I'm so surprised. I got answers from Dr Douglas Bogart and heart_of_mine. Thank you both of you. I'm not on any heart medication. I only take 2.5mg of Glipizide if need. I got a pacemaker which set pacing rate at 65. If my heart rate is falled below 65, it'll pace. So it is guranteed my heart rate will stay at 65 mininum. Then I don't know where the 40's rate will happen unless my pacemaker is not working in proper way. It has been checked so many times and so closed.
Avatar m tn I don't think that's the general use of a pacemaker. People usually get them because their heart rate is too low and the pacer will keep it up where it belongs (60-65 bpm). PVC's are so random and unpredictable, I don't know how a pacer would correct that.
Avatar f tn My blood pressure has been running low around 80/60 and heart rate 93 I get a dizzy feeling when this happens and my heart feels like it is going to pop out of my chest. Could this because they have my pacemaker set so high, before the pacemaker my heart rate was in the 40's.
341190 tn?1295467125 Hi All, I had a pacemaker fitted last april since then i have been really tired, i have had a few problems along the way, my lung collapsed then i had water on it now i have blood on it, but it,s the tiredness i cant cope with even if i sleep for over 12 hours, im wondering if anyone else has been through this.
Avatar m tn I've been following your post to see what experience would be shared. Sorry to see none has shown up yet, and your post is about to drop off the front page. From my limited knowledge it occurs to me that you may need a pacemaker. This is very uncommon for a person of your young age. Did you doctor express any concern that you heart might just stop? I am not trying to bring up anxiety, but that is a question I'd ask if my heart rate jumped around.
Avatar f tn BP chief executive Tony Hayward took a day off Saturday to see his 52-foot yacht "Bob" compete in a glitzy race off England's shore, a leisure trip that further infuriated residents of the oil-stained Gulf Coast. While Hayward's pricey ship whipped around the Isle of Wight on a good day for sailing — breezy and about 68 degrees — anger simmered on the steamy Gulf Coast, where crude has been washing in from the still-gushing spill. "Man, that ain't right.
Avatar m tn As a general rule, all electronic equipment is safe to use for patients with an ICD if kept at relative small distance from the unit. Most electronic equipment such as cellphones, microwave. Devices that generate radio waves or radio interference should be kept at least 15 centimetres (6 in) from the ICD. Due to your swollen tissue around the pacemaker, it may be wise to see your doctor.
Avatar f tn I have been off methadone, now, for almost 4 weeks (very gradual withdrawal). For 17 years, I took 65 mg./day. In addition, I've worn a pacemaker for the past 2 years. Since coming off, I've developed a VERY strange problem. It seems my eyes when exposed to certain substances, INCLUDING MY OWN SWEAT, will burn, begin itching violently and, then, minutes later a horrible headache sets in which can last for hours.

Avatar m tn OK I am not a doctor here, just reacting to what I think I am reading, but wow. Am I reading this correctly. Your ef has gotten better and is now 65%? hmmmm. I think I would be happy. Also 25mg seems like a small dose, and if your heart rate isn't running too slow at rest, perhaps your doctor would recommend a slight increase in your toprol? Boy this seems like a trivial dose. How do you feel about all of this?
Avatar f tn hi i am 33 years of age i have heart block stage 2 for which i have a pacemaker fitted. I have just recently been informed that i was born with svt. I have suffered from passing out since i gave birth to my first child when i was 20 and during my second pregnancy i was very poorly and had problems with the baby,I am currently taking beta blockers for the svt and will find out in july if i need the ablation surgery...
Avatar n tn She has been dismissed for almost 2 years when she complains of the pains and exhaustion she experiences. She is very thin and they say that the pacemaker doesn't have any fat to surround it. What do you suggest I do to get her the help she needs?
Avatar f tn I have noticed that when my Blood Pressure is elevated my heart rate drops and when my BP is low, my heart rate is up. When my heart rate goes above 65, I feel like my heart is racing and I get real light headed and dizzy. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing all this, it has been going on for too long and I need it to stop...
Avatar f tn My first cardiologist wants me to have a bypass on the 65% blockage and a pacemaker put in. He sent me to an interventional cardiologist and this one says not to rush into a pacemaker or bypass surgery (which I really do prefer to put off if possible) but I am scared and do not know which doctor is right. How can you know which is the right course of treatment? I do not want unnecessary surgery, but I also do not want to have another heart attack.
Avatar f tn I have an implanted [2006] bi-v pacemaker and defibrillator which helped relieve my early symptoms enormously. IS the diastolic dysfunction a progression of the cardiomyopathy? What do these new symptoms mean prognostically? I'm 65, female , and have had the best of care and take all the normal meds prescribed for these conditions. I've never smoked or drank.
Avatar f tn He said I had a less than 1% chance of dying from it, but I could take Verapamil (I had several side effects - heart rate down to 48) or he could try ablation saying we had about a 65% chance of finding it. The second EP said I have a 0% chance of an EP study finding it. He also said I will not die from it. The second EP did another treadmill at hospital. I had frequent ventricular ectopy (that is when he did the cardiac MRI).
Avatar n tn June of 2000,had a pacemaker put in.2002 of July had my 1st ablation. Then the following year had 2. 1st on a Friday, had to staying the hospital for observation and bang another one that Monday. They did something with my AV nodes. Then it starting hitting me in August,November and December was the worst one where I was turning gray. They kept getting longer in January and Feb. of 2008.From here,U know the rest.I gone through all those test and one to check my heart electrodes.
Avatar f tn My dad aged 65 is currently in hospital . He has had heart failure for 9 years and a week ago we told to come and say goodbye but somehow pulled through. We are told his heart is functioning on 20 percent. He has blood in his urine and have been told his kidney and liver are not functioning properly. He has now developed pneumonia. What are his chances? Nobody will give us a timeline at the hospital.
Avatar f tn 65 days to go getting excited :) ftm and I can't wait to meet my princess and kiss her cute chubby face!
1642748 tn?1300920489 and why the heck is the doc telling you that he sees you on a pacemaker someday? Do we have the whole story here? A pacemaker is implanted when the brain of the heart can no longer talk to the rest of it and tell it how to beat properly to sustain life...with ablations the only time one would be required from what i understand is if that doc "accidently" hit the AV.Sinus node of the heart which is basically the brain....
Avatar n tn My wife had been exp low heart rate 31 to 35 and low BP 95 over 65 Today at 2 pm an EPS was done with no ablation due to 4 to 5 points and Electrophysiologist is looking at treating medicine. When they moved her from REC to floor I req Monitor every 15 min contrary to every 4 hours. HR stays around 47 to 52 and BP from 95 over 61 but mostly 84 over 49 and occasionally 74 over 46.
1717715 tn?1318297295 then all of a sudden, about a couple of months ago i was completely relaxed and out of nowhere, my heart skips a few big long beats and then my BPM sky rockets and goes to 150 from 65. i get tunnel vision, about to pass out, nausea and a HUGE sense of impending doom, but without hyperventilation since then iv been getting these episodes more often.
Avatar f tn The device has been checked twice since release from hospital, everything is working extremely well, no complications. However I seem even more fatigued than since before the pacemaker. I am on a restricted schedule at work of 8 hours/day with breaks every 2 hours (I work in retail). I have continued mild exercise ( walking 2 miles 3 times a week, weights and band stretching) and continue to keep my daily sodium intake to less than 1500 mg, typically around 1300 mg.
