Excuse me if I come across as Blunt , but "a program" for a 20 year alcoholic is your "Only Option" and not only is seeking medical attention vital for more reason's than i can count and MORE than "Needed" , but MUST be sought.
Thanks for the info.I too will be starting trial study in Oct.(790052) Was garanteed no placebo since I'm prior non responder. I've did initial blood work and presently waiting on results. If all goes well I'll go for 2nd liver biopsy. 1st was in early 08 and I too was stage1 grd3 geno1a. I've allready signed consent form and was told I would recieve 20 mg or 60mg. What trail study will you be starting?
It does getter better and better each day but sleep is still pretty hard and i have 24 days .How many did you take before u cut down this last time ? how long have you been feeling like this? I recommend buying some good vitamins from GNC , i bought tons of vitamins and drank a ton of water and it really helps .

i am a diabetic like you and not a doctor or medical professional. Alcohal has many different effects on diabetics which is why the American Diabetes Association recomends diabetics only drink two drinks a day. If you take insulin for the alcohol it will just lower your blood sugar since alcohol doesn't need insulin for it to be digested.
my question is, I use to drink about 3 times a week with freinds going out hanging out and it would be just beer, anyway now I am down to 1 night a week drinking about 6 beers on average that night, what I am finding is my tolerance to alcohol has really gone down, 5 beers and Im already pretty drunk, where before I was able to pound about 12 beers and feel ok, my question is because of the HEP C is my liver maybe not processing the alcohol quick enough?
No mystery here. Alcohol has that effect on many. My daughter got married yesterday and I celebrated quite a lot. I woke up at 3 AM very tachy. I took my beta blocker early and drank a few glasses of water. It was much better this morning. Today I did notice more PVCs than I've been having, but I also forgot to take my fish oil today. We'll see if it was acting up because of the alcohol or if they've returned.
I don't understand how alcohol can cause hypoglycemina in diabetics. It seems to me that it would cause hyperglycemia because of the sugar in the alcohol. I just heard a story of an adult who passed out twice because she had wine after taking insulin. Her blood sugar was 175 when she took her insulin and within 15 minutes she was passed out.
I have been drinking beer for a while now, and just recently have been having allergic reactions to most beers. I used to drink Budweiser, Bud light, all the other special Bud's, Michelob ultra, Mickeys, and just about every cheap beer that comes in 40 oz. Recently while drinking these beers, I would breakout in red spots on my chest, arms, and my face would turn red. I would also have difficulty breathing.
Now that I have been getting better I have been socializing and therefore have started drinking. When I began I remembered how much I loved alcohol. My tolerance was much much lower while on Wellbutrin. I used to be able to have 7 beers within 4 hrs and be fun drunk. THe first time I drank on my meds 2 beers in I was drunk and then sipped on wine for a bit. In the morning I was fine.
he still drinks about 8 beers per day . he had knee replacement about nine months ago, quit drinking for about 4 months. during this time he was on pain medication which i was told can also be damaging to the liver. the specialist that diagnoised him said he didnt need to see him again until he quit drinking and was ready to start treatment. what is his future hold with drinking and not having treatment?
With alcohol, there is no tapering. You're either drinking or you're not. The beer is actually causing your panic attacks. I was in the same situation many years ago after my sister died. Drank lots of beer, next morning I would be driving to work and have to pull over because I was having a panic attack. The sugar in the alcohol along with the improper sleep you get when you drink are brutal for individuals prone to panic attacks.
Would like some help. How long does it take one to get alcohol neuropathy or cirrhosis? I have been drinking only beer for about 3 years (lite beer actually). If you break it down to an average, I have been drinking on average about 4 beers a day, some days more and some days not at all, while some days would reach 8 to 10. That's why I say an average of 4. Just wondering what my changes of getting alcohol neuropathy or cirrhosis would be.

Hi, so I am 37 year old male in relatively good shape. Since I'm about 18 I've been drinking alcohol, not everyday, more like 2-3 times a week drinks out with friends. Since having kids (9 years ago) more like 1-2 times a week max. Starting a few months ago I took notice of some morning after drinking having a high pulse ~100bpm, my normal rate is around 75bpm. I recently got a phone with pulse detection and took my pulse a few times while drinking.
Alcohol reduces certain muscle controls in the brain and nervous system. It also induces a relaxed state of mind. Most people with Tourettes are "on the go" all the time and by drinking a few beers you unwind enough to reduce the Tics. The alcohol allows the brain to slow down therefore slwoing down the Tics, still wonder if they could harness this property in a pill?
