I have not changed the makeup I am using, and my cleanser is one that I have been using for years and I have never had a problem with it. I proceeded to see my doctor who explained that I should take a reactine or benadryl and apply a cool cloth. This helped take down the swelling and redness, but the itching still persisted. The appearance of the rash did disappear a few hours afterward, but the itching did not, and it always come back in the morning.

t take Zyrtec (same as Reactine here, I think) or anything with steroids (both of them seriously aggravate my depression...I figured this out in my search for new allergy meds in the past year or so.... go figure). After the scare with Zyrtec I have been afraid to try any other new allergy meds...but I know Allegra is OTC here so I may try that cautiously if all else fails. For now, the two Claritin a day are making things tolerable, as far as the inhalant allergies go.

m using all the recommended products, Gold Bond (green bottle), Zyrtec, several other anti-itch creams and lotions, etc.,... all with temporary relief, but the nights are the worst... why is that? I take prilosec every day and my doctor says its fine. I would get off the zyrtec D and start the 24 hour zyrtec liquigels. You only take it once a day. You don't need the decongestant in the zyrtec D. You may be stuffy for a few days until you ween yourself off the decongestant but you will be okay. If you have that much diarrhea try taking some iron pills. I take 324 mg b/c of low iron. It makes you go a couple of times a day and regulates you and your stool.

I was told it may be allergies. Was given Zyrtec. My sinus mucus swelled up so bad i could hardly breath and my face turned bright red. I did not take it again after that. I tried just general Benadryl and had the same reaction. Red face hard to breath through the nose. I was recently prescribed Allegra and am nervous to take it as it looks like it has a lot of the same medication as benadryl but stronger. Are these medications the same?

By lunch after the second time I took them my throat swelled to about 30% this happened to me last week on diff. Antibiotics and my doc told me to deal with it.

I'm with you!! Saline spray is really all we can use. But meds such as reactine and claritan are safe as well. Just ask the pharmasist when you go to the drug store. I personally use 24hr reactine and the hydra sense spray. Its what works best for me. I find the otrivan spray works but its only for short periods of time and sometimes makes you feel worse when it wears off!!

My doctor told me that I should take Benadryl 50mg in the night and Reactine 10mg in the morning to relieve my hives symptoms.

for about 6 weeks and developed an acne like rash all over my face, neck and behind my ears. I stopped it 6 days ago and have been on reactine during the day and benadryl at night but it's not going away. it's terrible! is there anything else I can do?

The antihistamine I take is Reactine, I cannot tolerate many either, but this one seems to work for me and it doesn't make my symptoms worse. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that gets affected by weather changes but too bad we do go through this!

(sorry) or if I take the steroid I can cough up huge yellow inch long mucus plugs. I take Allegra, Zyrtec, Claritin, Flonase and singular, albuterol nebs and inhaler, also famotidine 2x daily I was on advair for 2months and he said stop because it did nothing for me other than change sputum from slimy to chunky and is quite pricey for no results.

I've stopped taking Reactine for my dust and seasonal allergies, since I discovered I'm pregnant. And while I can suffer a congested nose for nine months, it won't make the experience very nice.... Can I take an allergy pill? And if so, which ones are safe while pregnant? Will rinsing with a nasal rinse work?

My 33 year old fiance started last week with some small hive/rash (red, itchy bumps - like bug-bites but not) on his left toes. They then spread to his left thigh. Now on his torso and his right arm. Two triggers I can think of: 1) we had a mulch delivery last week and something in there is biting him or 2) he's having a reaction to the fabric softener I picked up (smelly vs hypoallergenic). Our problem is we can't decide if they're hives, bug bites, a rash, or what...

Around 2 months ago I started getting flea bites and a month after that I developed a dry rash around my neck. Later on I started getting this pink itchy patches along my lower spine as well as my pelvic area. I've been to 2 doctors and both aren't sure of the cause, one believed it could possibly be a seasonal allergy. I've been taking reactine and it has helped with the itching but whenever I stop taking it the itching comes back.

s prescribed prednisone (1/4 tablet out of a 50 mg tablet, once every other day) and Reactine (10 mg, 2x daily). The Reactine we've just started (been about 5 days now) and it seems to be making her worse - not sure if it's just pushing everything out finally, or if it's counter-active with the prednisone? I was on the prescription Reactine and Flonaise, but for some reason the ear and nasal swelling occurred anyway. I dislike the Reactine because it makes me retain water (10lbs) and makes me extremely drowsy because the prescription form doesn't come in non drowsy, and the regular form was no longer strong enough for me.

You might be having an allergic reaction to something so you can try taking Benadryl or Reactine. If the irritation continues and/or you develop other abnormal symptoms, visit your family doctor to make sure this is nothing serious.

Ok, so every Spring I get what I believe to be the worst allergies ever! In the summertime I take Reactine everyday for an allergy to pollen. It helps a lot. But in springtime...nothing helps!! I will wake up in the morning and my eyes are crusted over so much that I actually cannot open them. I have to get up (with my eyes closed), make my way to the bathroom, wet a cloth with warm water, and wait for the "crust" to loosen up so that I can pick it off.

I got the ok on zyrtec during pregnancy from my allergist, OB, and pharmacist. I am positive that zyrtec is ok.

Do any of you lady's take zyrtec for allergies? I don't like taking anything period but my allergies are sever. I claritan with my son but I feel like zyrtec works better. I was told its just as safe but figured I'd see what you lady's take.

I was told to take zyrtec. Now I have a rash on my upper thighs. Is it the generic zyrtec? Would the regular Zyrtec do the same? Have you ever heard of Diamox being prescribed for Meneire's disease? I find nothing in the literature about it and am hesitant to take it as it makes me very tired. I need to sleep about 3 hours a day when I take it. I don't want to experience vertigo again.
