Zyrtec ragweed

Common Questions and Answers about Zyrtec ragweed

zyrtec

Avatar f tn My 12 year old daughter was just diagnosed today with this. I read the other posts relating thyroid problems with autoimmune urticaria. Since I have hypothyroidism, I'm guessing that she should be tested for this at her regular doctor's office? Right now all I can afford is the double dose of Zyrtec, but with everything else she's allergic to (7 types of trees, 3 molds, ragweed, cat, feathers, dust mites & roaches of course) the allergy shots would be better for her, right?
213739 tn?1215486009 m in my third trimester and am dying from the ragweed and my doc. said zyrtec is completely safe to take. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm still nervous about taking it but I also can hardly breathe so I guess the benefits outweigh the risks since little guy does need oxygen. Let me know if you've taken it or if your doc has said anything about it! Thanks!
Avatar n tn its gotten alot worse over the last three..have been tested i am severely allergic to all tree pollens grass and ragweed pollen mold and dogs..i have tried everything ( including the drops under your tongue) nothing reaaly helps i am tired of feeling like this all time..
Avatar f tn I know your post is almost month old, but I hear you right about now. I'm 4 weeks pregnant and this ragweed is killing me. Showering during the nights, using a saline rinse, and occasionally benadryl or zyrtec. I feel bad taking it but I can barely see and function, without my 2 week pill.
1152061 tn?1262040956 My general practitioner thought the sore throats were from ragweed. It was always ragweed season when they occured, and batteries of tests for strep throat, yeasts and other things always came back negative. I just got interdermal testing and did in fact come back reactive for ragweed, as well as molds, some pollens, dust mites and, unfortunately, cats ( I have a cat).
689528 tn?1364135841 10mg every day for the first five days and then every other day for the next five, in addition he gets a generic Zyrtec everyday. Now he just gets a zyrtec every day, and if his allergies act up beyond the zyrtec's control, like this time of year ,he gets a prednisone per day for 3 or 4 days and then every other day for two or until things calm down. Zyrtec can be expensive, but we actually found a generic brand at the dollar store! $1. for 14 pills, so we clear their shelves!
Avatar n tn The symptoms of my allergies (grass, ragweed, dust, mold, cats and cockroaches) has always been itchy eyes, sneezing, congestion and an itch in my throat at the sides of my tongue about where the Eustachian tubes drain. For the past couple of months the throat itch has become more like an attack of pin jabs further down the throat that makes me cough until I gag.
Avatar n tn I am allergic to so many things - dust mites (severe), pollen (grass, tree, ragweed - pretty bad) and various animals (not to mention food now). I've been on Rhinocort Aqua for several years with great results. On bad days I take Claritin. I've been on other steroid nasal sprays, but Rhinocort has been the most gentle. I want to get off Rhinocort because I think the steroid is causing me to constantly eat as well as be irritable all the time.
Avatar n tn I take a 24 hour allergy pill each morning and by the time I go to bed at night I am too itchy to sleep so end up taking a benadryl. I have allergies to dust, mold, trees, grass, ragweed, etc. and know I do have some food allergies that I hope to uncover soon. The one I have found is shellfish which makes me oh so itchy beyond what I normally am. I did do a diet that a Naturopath put me on to eliminate yeast from my body (no dairy, sugars, yeast, wheat, gluten) and I did feel better.
Avatar f tn i have been trying to educate myself with all the info i can on asthma and allergies. i just underwent allergy testing. i am allergic to ragweed and dustmites. Oh God, no more lazy days. i have to stay on top of my house cleaning now. And that is a job! i really just want to know has anyone else out there ever continued to wheeze even while being on steroids and doing nebulizer treatments. knowledge is power! and i am trying to educate myself. can anyone help?
Avatar f tn s season allergies to something outside, such as ragweed, the symptoms should dissipate as the weather changes and those allergens are elminated. However, if the cause of your allergies is something in your home, such as dust, dust mites, perfumes, cleansers, etc., it'll be around a lot longer. Determining what it is that you're allergic to would definitely help.
Avatar n tn I have had hay fever symptoms every single day for over two years. The odd part is that they tend to be worse when I wake up, no matter when I wake up. If I wake up when my alarm goes off, then I suffer until the medicine kicks in. If the puppy barks at three in the morning, like last night, my allergies will start usually only if I have to actually get up, walk downstairs, and tell him to stop barking.

Avatar n tn has zyrtec been banned,i cant find it anywhere,if it has been banned then wot was the reason?
Avatar f tn Stevia is OK, but aspartame is not. Just be careful with stevia, it is related to ragweed, a common allergy.
Avatar n tn many have similar including me for over 6 months I am sure my symptoms are from environmental toxins from the aerial spraying they have been doing.do some research much online .
Avatar n tn I figured out when the antibiotics were not working, that this was related to my allergies. The ragweed count is very HIGH at this time of year on Long Island, NY. I went back to my doctor and she suggested trying Claritin or Allegra once a day with asterpro nasal spray at night for the post nasal drip. Do you have a good allergist? Are you drinking enough water? Where do you live? I have a feeling your symptoms are related to the change in weather and the ragweed being so high.
Avatar n tn nt seem to help, the throat clearing seemed to be getting worse. He was then tested for allergies and it was found that he had only a very mild allergy to ragweed and it was so minor the doctor said it did not need to be treated. This is the 2nd doctor we have seen Please help!!
Avatar f tn I only take REACTON when my allergies become uncomfortable in my case for the month of June to get me over the worst of the grass pollen. Ragweed can be an issue for me but I just avoid areas where there is ragweed. I wish you both well.
Avatar f tn Yeah it hurts my round ligament pain. It ***** because I am allergic to ragweed and its the season for it. I have been sneezing so much. Not to mention I pee myself a little almost every time ugh lol.
Avatar f tn I got the ok on zyrtec during pregnancy from my allergist, OB, and pharmacist. I am positive that zyrtec is ok.
Avatar f tn The cough sounds like there is a seal stuck in his throat but like I said pertussis was negative. The only thing I did see on the internet was that Zyrtec can cause a cough, anyone hear of it causing this type of cough?
