zyrtec post nasal drip

I too suffer with awful post nasal drip and also gerd. I take zyrtec and Rhinocort Aqua, it is nasal spray and it does help. I have tried other nasal sprays but this one seems to work the best.

For the past 3 years, I've had this nasal drip that will not stop. I can't bend over or talk to anyone without my sinuses always dripping. I have to carry tissue every where I go. Can someone please help. I've been to the sinus clinic a number of times and nothing seems to help. HELP PLEASE!!!!

**PLEASE READ** I've suffered for almost 2 decades with chronic post nasal drip and bad breath because of it. I have had post nasal drip for about 2 months, doctor put me on fluticasone propionate which has helped as not as bad but noticing still having nausea in am especially with having a cup of coffee with creamer as like today I drank just a little next thing I am throwing it right back up. I am over 50 and just went to allergist who diagnosed me with asthma and all allergy tests showed I wasn't allergic but my question is is it the creamer making me sick or the actual coffee.

I am now on sleep medication, clonazepam, Lunesta, now but which is barely working, Atavan is better and I can sleep but sedatives cannot be taken forever and this PND doesn't seem to be going away.

Is it OK to give a toddler benedryl at night to help with the constant post nasal drip if he has reactive airway disease? Does this restrict the cough and make it worse? He had a very bad reaction to singular...I feel terrible for him, he is unable to sleep with he gets this drip...

Hello, What you have is chronic post nasal drip. Post-nasal drip (PND) occurs when excessive mucus is produced by the sinuses. The excess mucus accumulates in the throat or back of the nose. It can be caused by rhinitis, sinusitis, or laryngopharyngeal acid reflux. It can be enhanced or sometimes even caused by allergies. Please check out with an ENT specialist if you are having chronic rhinitis or sinusitis.

feeling a tad better today, not much appetite, but im gonna keep taking the zyrtec for a while, clear up this post nasal drip. That should help the problem. I'm leaving work here in a bit, just to lay down and rest. I feel wore out from yesterday. Thanks for your response.

Two days later, I was still coughing--post nasal drip. I had finished all the meds so I bought some more Mucinex and started that again. In another 2 days I was still had post nasal drep so I started Claritin. I have been taking the Mucinex and Claritin for a week now and still can't get rid of the post nasal drip. I sleep with a humidifier on and do the "steam breathing" about 1-2 times a day. I am worse in the morning and evening, but I still have the post nasal drip.

Hey there I have been dealing with the same thing for a month now go to a ent they did a scope in the office and told me I had lpr which is acid reflux silent reflux actually they have me on prlosec generic which helped the lump feeling I was told by my reg Dr that I had post nasal drip I Dnt think that was the case but I took zyrtec d and that cleard it up ...

I am so glad you answered that. I have a dust allergy. Without Zyrtec I feel like I am drowning due to Post Nasal Drip. It is the only thing that helps me but it also puts me to sleep it I take it two days in a row. I plan to try this and see if I can stay awake!

I will cough up some clear phlegm after a meal. I do have bad post nasal drip from allergies. I get a sore throat from all the drip and can get hoarse too. Doc now has me on 30mg prevacid twice a day. I was having alot of GERD symptoms last week before she put me on the higher dose of prevacid. I feel alot better when it comes to GERD symptoms. but i dont gag, regurgitate or have food go up my nose. I can breathe normally. Have not had any aspiration of food or liquids.

Hi and Congragulations to your sis for completing Tx. I also experienced that nagging post nasal drip and took the same combo as your sister. What really helped me was Claratin, but she should check with her Dr. before taking any meds prescription or non. Good luck to her on achieving SVR. .....

Suggested I try Claritin or zyrtec to see if allergies are triggering all of this. Claritin is helping a lot with the post nasal drip, but now the junk in my chest seems tight and I have a dry, unproductive cough. Should I try mucinex to loosen up the chest and continue with Claritin?
