Zyrtec liver

Common Questions and Answers about Zyrtec liver

zyrtec

Avatar f tn He told me to stop taking the zyrtec and ordered liver function tests. Well, tests came back with high enzymes and bilirubin and he told me to stop taking ALL medications. Ordered an ultrasound which he said was negative, and ordered the blood work again. He seems to think it's liver damage due to drug toxicity. Problem is, he doesn't seem to be able to tell me what I should be doing, other than not taking my meds, to get healthy again.
Avatar f tn Zyrtec! I have been dealing with it for about a month benedryl only help for a few hrs but my doctor suggested to take zyrtec and it calms my pregnancy hives. My doctor said its just one more of those annoying pregnancy symptoms.

Avatar n tn has zyrtec been banned,i cant find it anywhere,if it has been banned then wot was the reason?
Avatar f tn As long as your dr gave the go ahead then I say take the Benadryl. I broke out in full body hives around 24 weeks and took Benadryl (just a half dose so I didn't get as much of that sleepy effect) and my dr told me Zyrtec was fine to take too since its a full 24 hours of relief. I'd say call ur dr and ask about the Zyrtec or even Claritin and if they give the go ahead, take that for during the day and the Benadryl to help sleep at night until it subsides.
Avatar f tn i started taking zyrtec about 6 months ago for post nasal drip and watery eyes. i took it almost every day and felt much better. i figured i would stop and see if my allergies were better. bad idea. after 48 hour without zyrtec i start to itch everywhere. it starts between my fingers and wrists and feet and ankles and ends up everywhere. i take a pill and it goes away. i have tried to stop many times but the itching is just too bad.
Avatar f tn I itch too, mine is caused by a hereditary liver condition that was inherited from my mums side. It's called ICP. Gets worse at night time too.
Avatar f tn I got the ok on zyrtec during pregnancy from my allergist, OB, and pharmacist. I am positive that zyrtec is ok.
Avatar n tn Thyroid hormones/antibodies are within range (other than 1 slightly elevated free T4), but right lobe of thyroid gland was found to be enlarged on ultrasound (endocrinologist does not believe that to be the cause). Liver enzymes originally checked in December and found to be on high end of normal. Retested in March '10 and found to be slightly elevated. Retested again in April '10 and found to be increasing slowly.
Avatar m tn I took zyrtec around 8:00 PM and my allergies are really bad so i wanted to know if it is safe to take Allegra now
Avatar f tn I have tried every cortisone cream, every medicated lotion, every non-medicated lotion, Zyrtec, Allegra, Claritin, Flonase, everything. A dermatologist has diagnosed me with dermatographism, but I disagree. The most adverse reaction I've seen from my scratching is that some hives MAY form if I've itched it PROFUSELY for an extended period of time. But they are small and very infrequent and very few.
7945295 tn?1397658820 Do any of you lady's take zyrtec for allergies? I don't like taking anything period but my allergies are sever. I claritan with my son but I feel like zyrtec works better. I was told its just as safe but figured I'd see what you lady's take.
460830 tn?1347219306 ), but I never have had any problem with taking a normal dose of Zyrtec...if I go ahead and take a Zyrtec, and it turns out that I did already take one, would it do any harm?
Avatar n tn The mainstay of treatment of hives is antihistamine which may be necessary for prolonged periods (in excess of 6 weeks). You can take non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine(zyrtec) or Loratadine(Claritin) to get symptom relief. Sedating antihistamines such as Chlorphenamine(benadryl) is used at night to get urticaria control. Short courses of oral cortisone or steroids are taken for short periods (one to three days) to settle more severe symptoms.
Avatar f tn I was told to take zyrtec. Now I have a rash on my upper thighs. Is it the generic zyrtec? Would the regular Zyrtec do the same? Have you ever heard of Diamox being prescribed for Meneire's disease? I find nothing in the literature about it and am hesitant to take it as it makes me very tired. I need to sleep about 3 hours a day when I take it. I don't want to experience vertigo again.
Avatar n tn t know if this will be any help but here goes, I never got hives but I got icthy and tingling feeling with my liver pain. The liver does not do what u think the liver does, does not give off pain it can be inflammed causing pressure which will cause pain best to ask your doc for liver function test to see if there is and abnormallities as the joint pain might have something to do with it as well!
