460830 tn?1347219306 ), but I never have had any problem with taking a normal dose of Zyrtec...if I go ahead and take a Zyrtec, and it turns out that I did already take one, would it do any harm?
Avatar m tn I took my dosage and quit hookah. 3 days after the steroids had ended I woke up in the middle of the night with the left side of my tongue swollen. I went to the emergency room and they put me back on steroids and benadryl again. 3 days after my steroid dosage had ended my hand and foot only on the left side started swelling to the point I couldn't walk. Got put back on steroids and zyrtec and some antacids.
850029 tn?1238857820 Does anyone know if you can grow resistant to antihistamines? I've been on Zyrtec for a year and feel like it doesn't work as well as it used to. I know that I have more allergens around me but would think I still should be getting relief. I spend at least $100 a month trying to get some relief. I'm thinking with nothing working I should just save myself $100:) the only time I feel someone what better is taking Advil Cold and Sinus, the Zyrtec seems to do nothing......
Avatar f tn what medicine and dosage is safe to take?
2169449 tn?1358489923 Benadryl is safe, but just a normal dosage and it's better to wait until after your first trimester to take meds...

689528 tn?1364135841 10mg every day for the first five days and then every other day for the next five, in addition he gets a generic Zyrtec everyday. Now he just gets a zyrtec every day, and if his allergies act up beyond the zyrtec's control, like this time of year ,he gets a prednisone per day for 3 or 4 days and then every other day for two or until things calm down. Zyrtec can be expensive, but we actually found a generic brand at the dollar store! $1. for 14 pills, so we clear their shelves!
Avatar f tn I was told to take zyrtec. Now I have a rash on my upper thighs. Is it the generic zyrtec? Would the regular Zyrtec do the same? Have you ever heard of Diamox being prescribed for Meneire's disease? I find nothing in the literature about it and am hesitant to take it as it makes me very tired. I need to sleep about 3 hours a day when I take it. I don't want to experience vertigo again.
Avatar f tn but over a100 TSH and a dosage as I high as this. I would have no problem demanding a different thyroid medication like Armour. (and I did exactly that a while back) I am now doing well on my Armour medication. Your cholestrol must be sky high.
Avatar m tn Have you tried claritin? I started using that to combat my allergies with perfume, but found that zyrtec worked better. I'm not sure about other allergy meds though, have you tried nasal sprays? Benadryl knocks me out in seconds so I understand not wanting to take it all the time- have you tried using the tablets and cutting them in half? I found a 1/4 of the adult dosage works well enough on reactions my Zyrtec isn't good enough for without causing excessive drowsiness.
Avatar n tn t know of any problem with taking Zyrtec-D with Plavix. You can also read your medication leaflets with the medications to check or check with your pharmacist. If you are being treated for high blood pressure or heart disease/vascular problem, I would NOT recommend taking the Zyrtec-D WITHOUT discussing this with your physician.
Avatar f tn i went through a lot similar before having my surgery this past June. The doctor prescribef me zyrtec which really did help me alot...
Avatar f tn The allergist had me taper off the prednisone and put me on 100mg Allegra in the morning and 10mg Zyrtec at night. She tested me for every allergy. I came back to being allergic to nothing. We also did a blood tests for my thyroid, cancer, graves disease, and various other diseases. My thyroid levels came back normal but my auto antibodies came back high, over 400. The allergist said that its something we'll just have to monitor, watch my levels, and do 'a step by step' with drugs.
Avatar n tn Levels look fine, but some individuals do better with a high-ish TSH; talk to your doctor about a trial of lower dose.
Avatar n tn If the doctor prescribed that dosage, then I would trust him/her. Zoloft is typically prescribed from 50-200mg, so your son is taking a 'normal' dosage in my opinion. I was on Zoloft a couple of years ago and had no major problems coming off of it. Just ensure when it is time to come off the medication work with your doctor and taper down slowly.
Avatar f tn t getting much nutrition so that could balance out high numbers. Do be sure to keep hydrated and to check your blood sugar on a regular basis. If your numbers are extremely high you need to go to the ER because you might have DKA (which presents similar to the flu). There are also strips you can get to check for ketones in your urine if your numbers are very high. (as in 300+). I hope you feel better soon.
Avatar n tn Hi, it sounds like you have had quite an ordeal with these allergies! i also have allergies, but mine were bad enough that i developed asthma and had to go on several medications to get it under control, now i only take zyrtec as needed. i don't know about allergies that are "digested first" with zyrtec, everyone has different reactions- but zyrtec is systemic so it should be help equally with your sore throat and itching.
11803947 tn?1430842645 That doesn't do anything to me ;/ I was on high dose with allegra, zyrtec, atarax, and a few others and the sprays before pregnant. Over the counter med doesn't help but thank god today got better after the bloody nose.
Avatar n tn has zyrtec been banned,i cant find it anywhere,if it has been banned then wot was the reason?
