Zyrtec for vertigo

Common Questions and Answers about Zyrtec for vertigo

zyrtec

Avatar f tn I was told to take zyrtec. Now I have a rash on my upper thighs. Is it the generic zyrtec? Would the regular Zyrtec do the same? Have you ever heard of Diamox being prescribed for Meneire's disease? I find nothing in the literature about it and am hesitant to take it as it makes me very tired. I need to sleep about 3 hours a day when I take it. I don't want to experience vertigo again.
Avatar n tn The vertigo can be caused by fluid in your ears as a result of sinsuses or an ear infection. You can get Meclizine over the counter to take, it should help with the dizziness, but it may make you very tired so do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how it will affect you. Also you can get an antihistamine, such as Claritin or Zyrtec to clear up the fluid. If you are concerned, you should see a doctor.
Avatar n tn I have also been having vertigo issues for the past nine months or so. Have tried several medications such as Zyrtec D, Flonase, Nasonex, Xyzal....also nasal rinses, and some vitamins and herbs...nothing works for long. Today the doc decided to start testing me for allergies to try to get to the root of the fluid and swelling in my ears. Your results sound interesting. I have in the past from time to time has what I think are fever blisters around the corners of my mouth.
Avatar n tn as long as ur system can take it.Otherwise, u may need antivert for prolonged vertigo....but more meds, mean more issues for me.

Avatar f tn Hello, I'm 36 years old - good health and had sudden onset vertigo/slight hearing loss/pressure in one ear. I went to the doctor immediately and was given prednisone (steroid). The vertigo has gone away almost completely but, the hearing loss has remained. I had a MRI check and several blood tests that checked out completely normal. The doctor suggested I have Labrythintitis. It has been almost 4 weeks and the hearing is still about 75%.
3166043 tn?1514260018 Putting bobby-pins in your ears is VERY DANGEROUS. You can peirce your eardrums, causing hearing loss for life, and yes, vertigo as well. I understand that this is nervous behavior. You CAN turn this particular nervous behavior on to something that is not harmful, like using a wet or dry cloth on your face and ears. Try removing all bobby pins from easy access. Then make cloths easier to get to. It may help you further if you pull on your earlobes and/or outside parts of your ears.
689528 tn?1364135841 s control, like this time of year ,he gets a prednisone per day for 3 or 4 days and then every other day for two or until things calm down. Zyrtec can be expensive, but we actually found a generic brand at the dollar store! $1. for 14 pills, so we clear their shelves! Our poor boy suffered until we found this new vet, every other night, we would do oatmeal baths, benedryl cream, benedryl pills, alcohol rubs, ice.. it was heartbreaking. We can totally relate.
Avatar f tn In the last 4 months I have had some pretty severe bouts of vertigo and dizziness (the dizziness has not gone away). And most recently, for at least 2 months I have felt disorientated where I just kinda feel out of it like I cant process things, I can most accurately describe it as being drunk (I dont drink.) I have seen about 10 doctors with no diagnosis. 4 MRI's which have shown inflammation but no cause, and blood tests that were inconclusive. Any other ideas or help?
539459 tn?1213886189 I'm an 18 yo female. I've been diagnosed with depression, and generalized anxiety disorder. For the past, i'd say, abotu 6 months, I've been experiencing on and off an annoying and scary sort of brain fog. This is the only way I can describe it. It's almost as if i'm living in some type of dream world, and everything is super unreal. It waxes and wanes. I went to the doctor at a time it was really bad, and he brushed it off as sinuses and gave me some zyrtec.
Avatar f tn I hav been researching this for a while because I suffer from them as well. Mine started December 2012. I have had vertigo (BBPV) for about 17 years, but have never experienced it like this. I had a crazy vertigo attack in a dream and it was so bad it woke me up and felt so real! Only when I woke up everything was still spinning. I got sick and drifted back to sleep when it happened again an hour later.
Avatar n tn I have a syndrome called minires witch is fliud build-up in the ear from allergic reactions that can cause ringing temporay loss of hearing and equilibreium problems like vertigo. Its not a syndrome that can easily be fixed if you have anymore symtoms like that you sould mention it to your doctor. They can percribe medication s to help blood flow in the ears buts ome meds can make asthma worse. I can't take anything for mine for that reason so i try to just live with it.
Avatar n tn Should we try the Zyrtec? I am scared that this is only going to get worse and I feel so sorry for her. Whenever her lip swells people talk about her. I had been giving her Benadryl when the lips swell but is that really helping her since it is not truly an allergy? I have a friend that says she has the same thing and she takes Zyrtec and Pepcid at night, she says it is the combination of the 2 drugs, and then when her lip swells she has to take Prednisone.
358304 tn?1409709492 I havent tried anything, b/c im a dufus, except for some regular Zyrtec for 2 days... didnt do anything. So I'm trying the Zyrtec D tomorrow! It's so funny, b/c my anxiety wasnt helping... I kept doing the "WHAT IF" thinking... thinking the worse! And after my Dr. told me sinus pressure, it made sense... it feels like sinus pressure. Believe it or not, allergies and sinus pressure can make you feel heavy eyed, tired, fatigue, dizzy, and some vertigo. Love my Dr.
Avatar m tn It does not sound like fluid in your ears (GPs always pull that one out, because they don't know anything about the inner ear). What I mean is, that shouldn't have been the cause of your sudden spinning nor probably your residual dizziness either. Given the sudden nature of the onset and the fact you were doing something a bit violent (it sounds like) with your head, I would be worried about some kind of inner-ear damage.
Avatar f tn //www.healthline.com/health/childrens-health/zyrtec-child-allergies#talk-with-your-doctor Flonase is a bit different. I assume you were also buying that over the counter? This too is generally regarded as safe but is recommended to only be used 2 months out of the year unless your doctor has said otherwise. It's a nasal steroid. These have been associated with usually insignificant slowing of growth. https://www.post-gazette.
Avatar f tn Hi thanks for the explanation. I did have severe vertigo last year and saw an ENT that said my vertigo was not an inner ear issue he suggested then it was neurological in nature but further investigation is yet to determine where my vertigo stems from. I'm often lightheaded. But I also feel like when I'm standing doing something I feel like things are moving around me. Strange I know but it doens't happen often enough to really bother me yet.
