Well all the dust and dirt (oh the joys of living in the desert!) have made for a knarly sinus headache!!!

Avatar m tn Cold accumulates for 2-3 months and then headache starts. Now days I also get pain back of my head, ears or some time below ears and jaws back side. Can anyone guide me about treatment for such sinus issues. Is any regular tablet or solution I can take avoid regular problem of sinus headache. Does inhaling steam or message with hot water will reduce my trouble? I do get some relief with hot plastic bag message.
Avatar m tn Then in October, I felt one coming on, so I bought Sudafed immediately, hoping to ward it off (I also take Zyrtec-D for allergies). No luck. It struck, so I went to the Dr and was put on 10 days of Augmenten. Seemed to offer some relief, however 2 weeks later it was back even worse, so I went back to the Dr. They put me on Augmenten for 14 days. Same results...so I felt good for about a week. New Years Eve it struck back harder...

358304 tn?1409709492 I havent tried anything, b/c im a dufus, except for some regular Zyrtec for 2 days... didnt do anything. So I'm trying the Zyrtec D tomorrow! It's so funny, b/c my anxiety wasnt helping... I kept doing the "WHAT IF" thinking... thinking the worse! And after my Dr. told me sinus pressure, it made sense... it feels like sinus pressure. Believe it or not, allergies and sinus pressure can make you feel heavy eyed, tired, fatigue, dizzy, and some vertigo. Love my Dr.
Avatar f tn After visiting with the doctor yesterday due to a sinus infection I decided to confess to her about my headaches. :) Headaches that start behind my left eye, always the left. After several of these headaches, starting about 10 years ago, I finally found that Benedryl with a decongestant takes care of it. However, the longer I wait to take the Benedryl the longer it takes to get it under control. So then it radiates to the back of my head and into my shoulder.
Avatar f tn His peadeatrician told me that he has allergy and we have been giving him zyrtec...yesterday we took him to the doc again and she said he has sinus infection and asked us to give him augmentin,I am not very confident about her diagnosis. What do i do???
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a59 yrs old women, allergic to cats, dust & mold and grasses. I started allergy shots 6 weeks ago(I get 3 injections). I received the first shot of the second level of shots on thurs. Beginning thurs nite, my sinus began to react, very swollen, Could hardly breathe through my nose. I took zyrtec and used prescription flonaise on Friday, it helped a bit, but knocked the heck out of me, went to bed with a terrible headache.
Avatar f tn I get sinus infections every time I have to take it for more than 5-6 days in a row for unknown reasons. Try actual Sudafed (the kind you have to sign for through the pharmacy) not the PE crap on the shelf. There is no better allergy medication than that. Hands down!
233772 tn?1297353383 I have been taking Zyrtec-D and at first it seemed that was working but now I am having more stuffiness. I can't breath through my nose. I have tried nasal sprays to no avail. I have tried other over the counter meds such as Claritin and Tylenol Sinus but none work. I go to bed at night and I am fine for a bit but always wake up at about 4am. I am exhausted and am not getting enough sleep. Off and on I have been having a little shortness of breath.
Avatar f tn has anybody experienced this and if yes, what was your solution for this. i am ready to feel normal again!!! Thank you for your time responding.
Avatar f tn Being pregnant makes us a million times more (an exaggeration I know) susceptible to allergies.
850029 tn?1238857820 i use 2 types of antihistamine for hayfever, i use them on alternative years - i find if i use the same one for 2 summers it does not work for the for the 3rd summer - but by alternating them i am fine.
Avatar m tn I had a very serious cold and sinus headache in Feb of this year. after going to the doc, he diagnosed me with a sinus infection. and put me on a 10day cycle of amoxiciilion. on the 7 th day of the cycle the headache and other flu symptoms were gone but i start to develop a rash. I immediately stopped taking the antibiotic. the rash was not very intense but the itching was uncontrollable. I was told to try an allergy med like benadryl or zyrtec and that worked..
203003 tn?1210855907 im very head strong, im not gonna be taking percocet everyday bc of a headache, its just this pain and pressure and nothing over the counter really works for me, i hate percocet actually my drug of choice was hydrocodone 10/325, so when i take a perk it doesnt phase me in the least, weird huh??? Avatar f tn I have had a severe sinus infection for about 5 days, with the nausea, disorientation, fever, night sweats, headache..... but yesterday when I woke up, I had a rash across my upper arm, shoulder, upper back, quadriceps and thighs. It looks like a heat rash, but is persisting... Although I'm feeling a bit better, and my sinuses are almost cleared, I've developed a pain in my upper right teeth today as well... Is the rash possibly related to the sinus problem?
Avatar f tn It depends on how far she is I believe on what she can take I do know for headache she can take 325mg of Tylenol regular strength I think she can take sudafed but if you go to any pharmacy since the dr's office is closed and talk to a pharmacist make sure they know how far along your wife is AND any meds she may be taking over the counter or prescription and they can tell you what she can and can not take Hpe she fells better
Avatar m tn I was treated last month for a sinus infection. (I have lots of sinus infections, have had surgery on my sinuses, etc.) Doc gave me a z-pack and prednisone. Suggested I try Claritin or zyrtec to see if allergies are triggering all of this. Claritin is helping a lot with the post nasal drip, but now the junk in my chest seems tight and I have a dry, unproductive cough. Should I try mucinex to loosen up the chest and continue with Claritin?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a sinus infectiona couple weeks ago and prescribed doxycyline and a z pack. I started feeling better so I stopped taking the antibiotic. I then began to develop fluid in my ears and a stuffy nose. I took a decongestant and stopped taking my daily allegra. I seemed to feel better for a few.days. I've never had a fever or headache with any of this. I have started to take my allegra again and today I started coughing up a little mucous again and my nose is running again.
Avatar f tn I just learned that sinus issues are also a problem. 1/4 of a zyrtec at night and I have migraines far less frequently. Don't get me going on fragrances. instant intense pain. Kind ofmakes me feel sorry for dogs and all the smells they have to deal with. Occasional headaches are just kind of normal and no one knows why. Frequent headaches or intense headaches always have causes even if the doctors don't have the common sense to figure it out.
Avatar n tn I just started using Nasonex (steroid nasal spray), and it really helps my allergies and sinus headache, and eye-related sinus problems. But I also have PVCs and my heart pounds a lot (can feel it in my head, back, etc). I'm wondering whether Nasonex is safe to take long term if I have these heart issues. Doctor just shrugged his shoulders when I asked. Anyone know?
