zyrtec

Avatar m tn I bought my husband some Zyrtec and he has been taking one a day for a few weeks now and the itching is gone!
Avatar f tn I began taking Zyrtec in August of 2008 for itching of all things. I went to my APRN for itching related to having had surgery that went a tad worse than we suspected with antibiotics, morhpine and finally healing. The itching was awful! She wanted me to take Zyrtec, an allergy med and so I began taking it. Sure enough, it got rid of the itching but I found out later on that when I attempted to quit it, the itching would come back much worse.

714275 tn?1295226265 Hello, It can be due to dry skin or xerosis which can cause itchy skin. Dry skin usually results from environmental factors that you can wholly or partially control. These include hot or cold weather with low humidity levels, long-term use of air conditioning or central heating, and washing or bathing too much. You can apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area. Oral antihistamine, such as Benadryl can also be used.

Avatar f tn Thanks so much for your response. I am not breastfeeding so I took some Zyrtec that my husband has for his allergies. Its only been an hour & the itching is soooo much better. Hopefully this condition is just due to my hormones & wont last much longer. I will take the Zyrtec til it does. Again. Thanks very much.
478342 tn?1241369352 t get hot thats when I start itching and my skin gets flushed red. I also do not sweat and I even get the itching in my sleep when I dream about something strenous. It also happens when I get emotionally stressed, suprised, or angry. I can't get emotional without the itching affecting me.
Avatar m tn My 5 year old has been picking her scabs on and off for a year now. She seems to have seasonal allergies also. I have noticed when she is on generic Zyrtec for the allergies she doesn't pick as much or stops all together. Then after a meeting with her teacher it was brought to my attention that when she is picking a lot her school work suffers.
Avatar f tn Skin Problems Pegylated interferon plus ribavirin are associated with skin problems like itching, dry skin and eczema. However, Hepatitis C protease inhibitors (especially telaprevir) increase the frequency of these side effects: An estimated 55 percent of those on telaprevir (with interferon and ribavirin) develop a rash. An estimated 33 percent of those just taking pegylated interferon and ribavirin develop a rash. http://www.hepatitis-central.

Avatar f tn bilirubin (which gives the normal brown color to the stool) is not excreted from the liver into intestine (as it should), but it rather enters directly into the blood, and from there into the skin (itching) and into urine (dark color). In general, there are two reasons, why bilirubin is not excreted into intesine: 1. extrahepatic cholestasis - a blockage outside the liver prevents bile flow. Gallstone, impacted within the hepatobiliary duct is the most often cause. 2.

Avatar n tn m taking Zyrtec daily now because the itching is so severe. The Zyrtec kills the itching for 24 hours. I went to the doctor who said it was tinea versicolor - which I have had since I was a teenager - and I told her that tinea versicolor didn't itch. She, however, says it can. Still, I'm itching everywhere the tinea versicolor is NOT (i.e. ankles, legs, butt, neck, stomach, etc.). She is putting me on Ketoconazole 200mg for 5 days and Ketoconazole shampoo to use on my entire body.

Avatar n tn I am a 65-year-old woman with high blood pressure, for which I take prescribed medicine. I was checked for diabetes about 6 months ago, with negative results. Thank you for your prompt and helpful response!
Avatar n tn My son has had a severe itching problem for about 5 years now. It tends to come and go, with episodes in summer, fall, and spring getting worse. He usually has small scabs from itching so much, his face and arms are covered with them. He itches in between his toes, fingers, head and legs. He has severe sleep problems because the itching is so bad. No doctors can seem to give a sufficient answer - we've been told food allergies.
Avatar n tn The head of the penis sometimes has reddish spots, and as you noted, the skin drys and peels off on both the head of the penis and the skin covering it. The itching turns to minor pain a week or two later as the skin drys and stretches, almost with very tiny tears. Anyways, as I mentioned, it starts when I take Zyrtec and stops after that.
Avatar n tn http://www.medicinenet.com/simvastatin/article.htm This could be an allergic reaction to the drug. It will stop if the drug is withdrawn. You need to inform your doctor about this development. He might want to substitute it with another. It cannot be a time coincidence unless you had the itching prior to starting the drug. You could apply an anti-itch lotion or cold compresses on the skin to soothe the areas.
Avatar f tn She has been suffering for 7 months now. We have seen 2 allergists and had skin testing done. It was determined that she is allergic to dust mites only. She was placed on Zyrtec 1mL/mg, 5 mL q daily. This helped but did not completly get rid of the urticaria. About a month ago she developed an itchy rash on her knees, elbows and anterior wrists. At the time they were just sporadic bumps. The bumps soon merged and formed plaques in these areas.
