11803947 tn?1430842645 That doesn't do anything to me ;/ I was on high dose with allegra, zyrtec, atarax, and a few others and the sprays before pregnant. Over the counter med doesn't help but thank god today got better after the bloody nose.
Avatar f tn I have really bad allergies also. Even got a sinus infection this time ! Benadryl didn't do anything to me but what you can take is over the counter benadryl, zyrtec, and claritin. zyrtec works better.
Avatar f tn Over that time I tried many different over the counter medicines and overtime had to get things stronger by perscription. Nothing really solved the problem, then in my late 20s someone introduced me to aloe vera juice 100%.
Avatar f tn I have really bad allergies and was wondering if I could take over the counter allergy medication? My nose is itchy, eyes are watering, I'm constantly sneezing. It's getting super annoying. I attempted to contact my OB but she never called me back. Does anyone know if I can or can't. Thanks in advance!
Avatar f tn Starting with Zyrtec, this is an over the counter medication generally regarded as safe. It only is in the system for a short time based on its half life. Children can take this usually without incident. However, once stopped, some allergy sufferers are uncomfortable. Perhaps this is what is going on. Again, please talk to his doctor. Why did you discontinue it? Was there a particular reason? It's an antihistamine.
Avatar f tn Claritin or Zyrtec is fine over the counter or benadryl. I've attempted saline spray but hate putting things in my nose!
Avatar m tn Do you have any other known allergies, or health issues?
Avatar m tn You're welcome! I'm glad the information I provided was of some help and that you've been able to determine what it was that was causing your allergy. I'm sorry the Zyrtec hasn't completely eliminated your symptoms. Do they return only when it's about time for anotehr dose of teh meds? Or do they just not completely go away even with teh Zyrtec?
4178478 tn?1350667364 If you have an allergist call and all them. I believe you can take ceterizine it is the generic of zyrtec i believe and it's class b. Or over the counter chlortrymeton(spelling) id what my OB suggested for my allergies when they were driving me nuts.
Avatar n tn Hello, I commisserate with you. Certainly sounds like rhinitis. I have had allergies all my life. I took all the over-the-counter remedies and also prescription nasal sprays. All until very recently. About 5 months ago I began taking a powerful antioxidant called OPC-3. It is dissolved in water in the morning and it has relieved my allergic symptoms almost completely. If you would like more information just let me know. Hang in there.
Avatar m tn I went to an allergist and found out I have allergies ( to pollen, grass, dust, and pets) so I began taking Flonase, Zyrtec, and Mucinex D, but this did not help either. Upper GI tract test came back normal. Thyriod gland test came back normal. Chest x-ray came back normal. I'm otherwise healthy. Please someone help!!!!!!! What else could be causing my throat problems and what should I take for it??????
Avatar n tn You can try over-the-counter medications like Claritin or Zyrtec. Steroid nasal sprays like Flonase are also helpful, but they require a prescription by a physician. If medical management fails, immunotherapy (allergy shots) might be required.
Avatar f tn suidfed is okay as well.
1524212 tn?1291837200 I am 73 and taking warfarin for afib, what med can I take over the counter to help my head/chest cold?
Avatar f tn Claritin or zyrtec is what you can take they told me to get zyrtec for mine I'm 30w5d now but in the beginning of my pregnancy I took claritin they gave me a paper of medications safe to take and for allergies it says either one of those are safe
Avatar f tn If you use like an over the counter saline mist you should be fine... My doctor has me using Ayr saline mist...as well as I am on Zyrtec and have an albuterol inhaler...
Avatar n tn The "D" in Claritin-D or Zyrtec-D is pseudoephedrine, which is an ingredient used to make methamphetamine (speed). Manufacturers of street meth were sending hordes of kids into drugstores to buy up these necessary ingredients for their final product. That's why these medications are now locked up behind the pharmacy counter and require a photo ID to purchase them.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
233772 tn?1297353383 I have been taking Zyrtec-D and at first it seemed that was working but now I am having more stuffiness. I can't breath through my nose. I have tried nasal sprays to no avail. I have tried other over the counter meds such as Claritin and Tylenol Sinus but none work. I go to bed at night and I am fine for a bit but always wake up at about 4am. I am exhausted and am not getting enough sleep. Off and on I have been having a little shortness of breath.
Avatar f tn I would call your doctor. I know plain Zyrtec is fine to take, but I'm not clear on Zyrtec-D. I believe the only difference is that it has Pseudoephedrine in it, but I'm not 100% and your doctor would be the safest to ask. You should just be able to call and ask and find out over the phone.
Avatar n tn Take Zyrtec, it has helped me out alot. Especially since they just made it available over the counter at your local drug store. It seems your allergic to Dust Mytes and would benefit from this treatment. But as with any drugs available in the market, please consult your doctor before trying it out.
1274661 tn?1301868321 Thanks, Selma. I do take the zyrtec at night, but I guess it is not enough. Last time I was at the doctor he told me to take claritin-D in the morning and zyrtec at night. I really didn't want to try the claritin-D because it is a decongestant and they make me feel crazy and just seem to drain everything into my chest. Maybe I can ask about taking regular claritin in the morning and zyrtec at night. May I ask what you are and were taking?
Avatar f tn Omg I have the same thing going on, I hate it then it makes me want to throw up, n nothing, it's just a darn cough, all day it get annoying, ur not alone
