I was also advised to take Zyrtec and wondered if Zyrtec had any more benefit for skin reactions thank Claritin. Claritin didn't help at all. Two dermatologists suggested Zyrtec over Claritin . I hesitate to try the Zyrtec as I took it once a few years ago and promptly feel into a deep sleep. If it is better for the skin than Claritin can it be taken at night and do any good?

Went to a derm who tells me it is Eczema and I will be fine, take Claritin or Zyrtec and some topical creme he prescribed and I will be fine. Well, it seemed to work for a short time with the Clartin but that made me really bloated and blotchy so I stopped that after 10 days and have not taken anything since. It does not really itch but looks worrisome. I have never had any issues like this on my skin.
went to another Doctor who looked, felt the pimples, and seen the hives and rash .. he prescribed APO-HYDROXYZINE 25MG and after 32 hours the rash and hives increased spreading all over and more ithcier than before .. he also precribed Noritate 1% cream plus pHisoHex wash for the private area .. no help nothing improved the rash increased and so is the itch .. Any one with an answer to this ..
I went thru this painful bleeding rash on my arms and legs for years..ugh its just awful. Went to every skin Dr and they were stumped..well I just had thyroid surgery to remmove toxic nodule and half my thyroid...guess what? The rash is finally clearing up all by it self now! Yaaaaay! Tell you Dr about it and insist you get your thyroid treated..myself I recomend the surgery over the radiation. A litter more painful but much safer esp for those of us with thyroid rash!
I have had a rash on my face, sides of my nose, below the nose and my chin, which has now started spreading to my jaw line. The rash has been there for two months and no matter what I've tried it won't go away. It is tiny bumps and some of the red dots are under the skin. It itches slightly every now and then. Please let me know if you have any idea what it could be and what could be used.
Specifically small red bumps underneath the skin. It started as a reaction to the strep throat but now its been over a month and the skin rash gets worse. He's also developed 4 blisters on the back of his calf that he says hurt and itch. He scratches from head to toe and can not find relief in any of the meds he's on (zyrtec, locoid). I don't believe it is eczema could you tell me what other possible skin problem he might have?
She has been suffering for 7 months now. We have seen 2 allergists and had skin testing done. It was determined that she is allergic to dust mites only. She was placed on Zyrtec 1mL/mg, 5 mL q daily. This helped but did not completly get rid of the urticaria. About a month ago she developed an itchy rash on her knees, elbows and anterior wrists. At the time they were just sporadic bumps. Next day I started taking Zyrtec. Itch stopped but rash still continued to appear and disappear especially on my neck, arms, and hands. It appears mostly when I finish my shower even though I don't use hot water in shower. I did blood test days ago, I have ALT = 51 which is over the limit (46). Months ago my ALT was 26. I stopped using Zyrtec, and my doctor told me to use Atarax. However, its been a week and the rash is still the same. I am very worried about it. What shall I do?
I had protected sex about two and a half months back, I'm having on and off symptoms.
1. Low grade fever (Food poisoning) Happens once.
2. Rash, Looks like Hives (I've never had Hives before)
3. Diarrhea, happens after I took medication? (Amoxicillin)
4. Inflame Tonsils (Mild pain, no coughing)
These symptoms doesn't come all at once. The rash happens out of nowhere and it's freaking me out, I took zyrtec and it took care of it.
second, if you get the correct meds, maybe they will control the rash and itching. I have had a very itchy generalized rash and was taking over the counter stuff (benadryl, hydrocortizone cream). The rash got so bad those meds were doing nothing. I had to get some prescription meds (fluocinonide ointment to apply, hydroxyzine tabs. for the itching (bedtime), clobetesol liquid for my scalp itching, and Zyrtec for am (zyrtec is over the counter, or I could use claritin for am).
i was on prednisone for about two and a half weeks and came off it last week. ive been taking benadryll 25mg and zyrtec 10mg regularly, and the rash had all disappeared except that my cheeks and palms still get flushed when im nervous, cold or take a hot shower. tonight, my legs were itchy and i noticed small, itchy red bumps on my legs and arms that look nothing like my previous rash and i am very worried about this new rash. it has been a month now and i just want it all to go away.
I suggest you to consult an allergist and get allergy tests like skin allergy tests( skin ***** and patch tests) and blood tests like RAST done.
If it is due to an allergic reaction, then prevention of that allergen is the best treatment.

I have a really really bad problem with my skin. Whenever I go outside the sun, or the heater, in general wherever it's hot, my skin gets extremely prickly and it has many red bumps all over my body. I've tried many allergy medicines such as HYDROXYZINE HCL, DOXEPIN, FEXOFENADINE, XYZAL, ZYRTEC, but they didn't help the breakout at all. I think I'm not allergic with anything, because I already took the blood test, and everything appeared negatively.
t notice any type of irritation rash or anything of that nature. Armpit looks completely normal. I felt and none of my lymph nodes are swollen nor do I feel any pain when I press on my armpit, it's only the outside skin. Is there any recommendation on something I can take or put on it to get rid of it? It's extremely annoying.
Cortisone itch cream may help more than just normal lotion. I've heard that when you are itchy it sometimes means you're skin is stretching and if you itch it can cause stretch marks, so try not to itch and just apply cream often! Also, with my first pregnancy I broke out with severe itching on my lower belly which turned into a rash. My doctor said its a type of pregnancy rash that can occur and she prescribed me some amazing anti-itch cream that cured it right away.
Please can anyone give me advice , i have sun rashes every single year , my docter says i have an allergic reaction to the sun !! has anyone had the similar rash and have they done anythging to prevent it ?

About two weeks after that I started to get hives. Now instead of hives I get like red marks on my skin. The hives literally itch and burn so bad. Zyrtec helps. The hives/welts/marks come and within minutes they are gone. They appear all over my body including face. This has been happening for two months now. Would hiv rash do this? Could it be herpes? I have been to both my doctor and dermatologist who have both said it is chronic hives.
Had been on Augmentin for a sinus infection, just finishing up the script, and take Crestor, Nexium, and Zyrtec on a regular basis. Symptoms started a few days after starting generic Zyrtec, which also caused unbelievable dryness that felt like I was dehydrated (no vomiting, though). A day after the chills, I noticed my urine was dark and my stools were very light, almost gray, and I started getting very itchy but no rash.
i broke out into a terrible rash on my belly around like 26 weeks and went to my dr and they said it was like diaper rash just from the heat and my maternity pants covering up that skin so it can't breath. he suggested desitin or some kind of baby diaper rash cream. you should definitely talk to your dr though because it can be PUPPP, google it it looks miserable I was terrified I had it, luckily i didn't!
I have in the past 2 months started to get a raised rash the skin appears red and dry on my face and on my hands. It is on my lower cheeks and on the back of my hands. It is raised and small bumps are gathered in areas. They are itchy and if I scratch at them too long the bumps break and there is clear liquid under them. Hi, I hope the nasty rash didn't persist to long! I was just wondering if you were able to find an effective treatment, or the cause of the rash..my friend who is in Benin, Africa, just got a rash that is very similar to your daughter's, and no one knows what it is. They just put him on Zyrtec, which I'm sure won't do anything..especially if it is fungal in origin. Thanks so much!
