zyrtec

Hello and hope you are doing well. Zyrtec can cause side effects like skin nodules, rash, pruritis (itching), acne, urticaria, photosensitivity reactions and eczema. So, the itchy red cheeks could be due to Zyrtec. Discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
I was also advised to take Zyrtec and wondered if Zyrtec had any more benefit for skin reactions thank Claritin. Claritin didn't help at all. Two dermatologists suggested Zyrtec over Claritin . I hesitate to try the Zyrtec as I took it once a few years ago and promptly feel into a deep sleep. If it is better for the skin than Claritin can it be taken at night and do any good? Your help is greatly appreciated. This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
It is just that you are having an allergy or some systemic disease which is not being able to be controlled by zyrtec. Itchy skin can be caused by dry skin. ). Dry skin usually results from environmental factors that you can wholly or partially control. These include hot or cold weather with low humidity levels, long-term use of air conditioning or central heating, and washing or bathing too much.Apply hypoallergenic moisturizer to the body part where you itch.
I have been on claritin, clarinex, zyrtec and xyzal. I am continuing with zyrtec now becaue of the cost of xyzal ($200/3mo) due to my healthcare selectively removing antihistamines from the formulary. Xyzal was definitely better for me than any of the others, and I have something more than the standard statement to go with that. Last week I had an allergy test done. RAST/Interdermal type.

It doesn't bother me other than the itch, and when I sweat it burns. My doctor perscribed Zyrtec and Doxycycl HYC, which are not working.
The best thing I have used for the skin rash is alpa-keri bath oil. I use it in my bath and then when I get out of the tub, while still wet....I pour some in my hands and rub over entire body. It has been wonderful for me. By the way you get this over the counter @ the drug store. Best Wishes!!!!
I have a skin rash in palms of my hands, lower legs(where socks touch them)and around my waist where underwear and tight belt irritate.after severe scratching bumps become blisters that when popped they yield clear liquid. Weeks ago I had jock itch but this seems to no longer be a problem. I suspect sun poisoning from sailing this summer, flu shot last week, or possible unbalanced chemicals from hot tub (now drained). this condition has persisted for a week now..
and it seems to be worse in the morning and at night and after a hot shower. I have cleaned sheets. I am on Zyrtec and a topical aveeno anti-itch cream. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Went to a derm who tells me it is Eczema and I will be fine, take Claritin or Zyrtec and some topical creme he prescribed and I will be fine. Well, it seemed to work for a short time with the Clartin but that made me really bloated and blotchy so I stopped that after 10 days and have not taken anything since. It does not really itch but looks worrisome. I have never had any issues like this on my skin.
It's driving me crazy and it has been 3 days. My boyfriend just started getting rash on his arms and ears today. I don't know if it's an allergy we both have or if it's something contagious. Help please!

Hi, Jon is right. Nothing in MS is related to dermatology changes and skin rashes. However, The itchy rash right below the navel is often a reaction to the nickel in the snap or button of jeans. Honestly! I saw it all the time. See if there is a pair of pants you wear when your are most uncomfortable during a flare of your symptoms and see if there is a metal that matches where the rash is.
Try taking an over-the-counter, non-sedating antihistamine like Claritin or Zyrtec for ten days and see if that works. Then see a doctor in person. Take photos of when the rash is obvious and show them when you go. Take care. Dr.
I have in the past 2 months started to get a raised rash the skin appears red and dry on my face and on my hands. It is on my lower cheeks and on the back of my hands. It is raised and small bumps are gathered in areas. They are itchy and if I scratch at them too long the bumps break and there is clear liquid under them. It does not appear any where else on my body and it has not been spread to anyone else in my family.
I have severe allergies and I don't believe this is what it is. If I give her Zyrtec (double doses) it helps a little with the itchiness but the red spots keep appearing. Does this sound like some kind of food allergy possibly? We have not changed anything in her diet, laundry soap, cleaners, etc. and we are at a complete loss. She is miserable and cranky most of the time, which is not like her at all. Please, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
It's getting quite annoying now because it's got to the stage where a rash appears even if something just brushes against my skin (for example, the rash developed down the side of my face because I accidentally touched it whilst brushing my hair the other day!). I get this several times a day and it's starting to really get me down. The rash is so incredibly itchy when it appears, not to mention the fact that it looks awful.
I have a girl friend who had a similar problem. She went into the hot tub and develop a rash all over her skin. The Nylon in she swim suit was the cause. Try using a cotton swim suit.
i used some cream that was prescribed to my 14month old daughter for diaper rash....and so far (2 days now) the itch has almost completely stop and the rash is starting to dry and clear....ill find out exactly what is called and let you all know.....
Hi there.. So my skin rash is all over. It's not raised and it moves around. It started in January and I have been to a GP and an Allergist and have gotten the "gee I don't know" all three times. It starts as the typical red dots that mush together and when it's bad, it's "lacey". I have racked my brain about foods I have eaten, soaps and detergents, air polutants..but there is no common denominator. I take Zyrtec when I see spots and it eventually goes away.
Almost a month ago, I developed a skin rash. It started out as an allergic reaction to some cornstarch that I had put on my body to combat sweat. I went to the hospital, and they gave me Prednisone, Zyrtec, Zantac, Benadryl and some steroids. None of these medications worked for me. I have developed sores on my arms, legs, stomach, neck and chest areas that are uncontrollably itchy and miserable. The only thing that really helps with the itching is frozen, damp washcloths.
I went thru this painful bleeding rash on my arms and legs for years..ugh its just awful. Went to every skin Dr and they were stumped..well I just had thyroid surgery to remmove toxic nodule and half my thyroid...guess what? The rash is finally clearing up all by it self now! Yaaaaay! Tell you Dr about it and insist you get your thyroid treated..myself I recomend the surgery over the radiation. A litter more painful but much safer esp for those of us with thyroid rash!
Hi, i keep getting a rash on my arms, legs and hands, it's just red not dotted, and slightly raised in places. It's itchy even when the rash isn't there, also my joints on my hands and feet were inflamed and ached. It itched mainly from my elbow to fingers and the backs of my knees, also on the tops of my feet. It's lasted for afew days and the itching is getting quite bad, it's happened before but it went after a day so it was gone before i could get to the doctors, can you help?
my friend who is in Benin, Africa, just got a rash that is very similar to your daughter's, and no one knows what it is. They just put him on Zyrtec, which I'm sure won't do anything..especially if it is fungal in origin. Thanks so much!
I adopted a third cat 2 months ago and my allergies really flared up and I started taking generic Zyrtec, which helped with the allergies. When I ran out and stopped taking the pills, it was shortly after I noticed the first spot appear. I've started taking them again, but only a couple days ago. I'm not sure if the spots are allergy related, but I figured they could be. Most of the spots don't itch, only the ones at the top of my buttocks.
You may take oral antihistaminics like benadryl or zyrtec. Also apply calamine lotion as it has a soothing effect on the skin. You can apply OTC steroid cream but it should be used under a medical guidance. Compresses with cool water or Burrow’s solution (available without prescription) can also help. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
I have been experiencing the same thing and live in south Florida. The itching, rash, and bruising are everywhere. Am working with my dermatologist, allergist, and, now, internist. No answer thus far. To get temporary relief from the itching, I use the following routine: 1. Shower two times every day - morning and evening. The evening shower is especially helpful as the itching gets worse throughout the day - sweat/salts aggravate the itching. 2. In shower - a.
