Avatar f tn My doctor was OK with me taking zyrtec. You just have to make sure to drink lots and lots of water.
Avatar n tn I am 20 weeks pregnant and am getting a sinus infection, I know Zyrtec D works but i dont know if im allowed to take it! Will it harm baby if I take Zyrtec D???
Avatar f tn Here is link to sinus rinse, they have it everywhere http://www.neilmed.com/usa/sinusrinse_isotonic.
Avatar f tn Daily dosing of Zyrtec can cause ear/sinus infections. I get sinus infections every time I have to take it for more than 5-6 days in a row for unknown reasons. Try actual Sudafed (the kind you have to sign for through the pharmacy) not the PE crap on the shelf. There is no better allergy medication than that. Hands down!
850029 tn?1238857820 ) the only time I feel someone what better is taking Advil Cold and Sinus, the Zyrtec seems to do nothing...... Any advice?
Avatar m tn My husband's sinus infections stopped when he gave up dairy products and sugar.
Avatar f tn Clartin, zyrtec and benadryl are fine. I would also recommend using a neti pot. It takes a couple of tries to get use to but it does help.
Avatar m tn For about a month I've had this painful throbbing sensation in my head that feels like it's behind my left eye near my upper nose. The sensation comes and goes day by day but sometimes the throbbing gets very painful and I get migraines that I can feel are from that area, it happens several time a week now. When I shake my head I can sometimes feel pressure in the area. Recently I've begun to feel this sensation in other parts of my head and I'm getting worried.
Avatar f tn Had been on Augmentin for a sinus infection, just finishing up the script, and take Crestor, Nexium, and Zyrtec on a regular basis. Symptoms started a few days after starting generic Zyrtec, which also caused unbelievable dryness that felt like I was dehydrated (no vomiting, though). A day after the chills, I noticed my urine was dark and my stools were very light, almost gray, and I started getting very itchy but no rash.
Avatar n tn I generally take Flonase. About a week ago the allergies and sinuses really got a hold of me and i had horrible sinus pressure, felt really spacey, had ear fullness and pain, felt a little off but no ear infection. I got put on a antibiotic. I then just started the Flonase back up. One day i felt short of breath off and on. I also took a Zyrtec. I almost went to the hospital because i felt bad and felt like my allergies/ sinuses were causing it. I also have anxiety.
Avatar f tn So this is my first pregnancy and I'm very early in , about 6 weeks . I haven't been to a Dr yet due to fact my health insurance is still being reviewed . However I have bad allergies and stopped my meds once I found out I was pregnant and now I'm developing a very bad sinus infection. Is there anything I can take ? I've been reading a lot about this and it seems there isn't . Some say Tylenol sinus is ok but others say no . Any help would be great .
Avatar f tn Zyrtec is the safest and one of the most effective allergy meds - deals with more allergens than claritin I use the zyrtec eye drops (i've only had itchy eyes lately) and Sinus Rinse - clears and prevents congestion. It took me a long time to get over the idea of squirting water up my nose, but it is totally worth it.
Avatar f tn His peadeatrician told me that he has allergy and we have been giving him zyrtec...yesterday we took him to the doc again and she said he has sinus infection and asked us to give him augmentin,I am not very confident about her diagnosis. What do i do???
Avatar n tn Hi, I've had MANY sinus infections in my life. I always start off w/ a sore throat and ear and have major congestion/stuffed up nose, etc. I do have sinus pain/pressure a few days of the infection, too. BUT, right now I have had 10 DAYS of NON-STOP (nothing's relieving it!) pain in my cheekbones/under eyes/head/teeth, but I don't have the other usual symptoms. I'm on my 3rd day of Augmentin 875mg 2xday and taking an antihistimine.
Avatar n tn I'm going to answer this similar to how I answered another question. Get yourself tested by your doctor or have them refer you to an allergist to get tested for what you are allergic to. My favorite over the counter medication for allergies is Zyrtec, I don't have any reactions to it whatsoever and it works faster than Claritin does for me.
Avatar f tn Check with the doctor but he will more than likely firmly recommend Claritin and warn against Benadryl. keep us posted.
Avatar f tn My have had terrible allergy symptoms so dr told me that zyrtec, Claritan and bendryl are safe during pregnancy. I took Zyrtec during the day yesterday with no relief by bedtime so I took a Benadryl to hopefully get some sleep at night because my symptoms were still terrible! Didn't realize this might not be ok to mix- anyone have any idea if mixing them once is ok?? Now I'm really nervous I did something wrong even though they're both safe.

Avatar f tn Zyrtec, tylenol cold and sinus, Sudafed
Avatar m tn It could take up to four weeks for the swelling and inflammation to subside. In Addition to Zyrtec, you could use saline nasal sprays. Also, try to sleep on your side, this will help to open up the nasal passages. Hope diabetes has been ruled out. If your symptoms worsen, or if there is discharge or if you develop fever, consult your doctor to rule out an infection. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
377012 tn?1283965435 i dont know if he has become immune to the meds (ZYRTEC, ALBUTEROL-as needed- and OMNICEF) -OR- if its something more than sinus and ear infections. 7998970 tn?1435183202 For cold and sinus my doctors approved medicine handout lists the following: Tylenol sinus Tylenol cold Benadryl Sudafed Sinutab Chlirtrimeton Claritin Mucinex Zyrtec The hospital here uses the same list BUT its not universal :) hope this helps
503607 tn?1275671579 That was a bit weird I think. There must be something you can use? I guess it depends on the arrhythmia. Some of the allergy meds (especially the old, non-selective ones such as terfenadine and hydroxyzine) can prolong heart repolarization (QT time) and cannot/should not be used with antiarrhythmic drugs or certain antibiotic drugs, or if someone has prolonged QT time on EKG. The sedative allergy meds are most likely to cause tachycardia (I think.. my knowledge about this is a bit low..
