wish I could just sleep good... but I can't. My neck is always stiff in bed etc. Just can't fall asleep... had a night terror dream thing too... where I felt like i was awake, but in REM sleep... and could see my room around me, and hear everything, but was fighting to wake up, and I DID MAKE MYSELF WAKE UP, It was nuts! Scared me a bit, so i took half an ativan. and slept okay the remainder of the night, but had major vivid dreams... hope this stops soon! But anxiety is gone!
He had an MRI done for brain and spine at 3 1/2 years old and it came back ok. They did a sleep study due to night terrors and trouble sleeping. Came back normal. He was put in physical therapy as his legs were not strong enough for him to stand for very long and he was having a lot of the twitches and falling when he was walking/running. He was also refered to a speech therapist as I was told his speech is slurred.
But, the leg muscle pains have always been there . I also have night terrors, (always have had them, but they have gotten worse over the years) so I just contributed that to old age too. I also have IBS and have since childhood. I just figured I was falling apart due to old age when everything began to get worse back around 2004 or so. I am 65 . Just going to the grocery store wares me out!
These diseases all had twitching as apart of their symptoms (he only twitches in his sleep). Night sweats, night terrors, everything was a symptom related to tick born diseases. He was bit by a tick or I possibly passed these diseases to him while pregnant (we also have dogs that could be a possibility). I don't know when I got bit. Never saw the tick and we live in Coastal California where I never knew lyme disease exist!
most recently, my sleep cycle has changed because i have sleep paralysis and night terrors, so i sleep during the day because sleeping at night scares me. i had a sllep study which was deemed inconclusive because i awoke 98 times in 6 hours and never reached REM sleep. i also have about 70 psoriasis ( that runs on my father's side) plaques that cover my arms and legs and are extremely resistant to treatment. i look and feel like a mess.
I would think if I had MS that far back that I would have a lot more lesions in my brain then I do now. I have also had a history of what I think to be night terrors and sleep paralysis. As a child I would go in these trances like I was half awake and half asleep, my eyes would be open and I would hallucinate really scary things and start to freak out and scream and my parents would try to snap me out of it by shaking me but it was as though I was somewhere unreachable.
It is like an allergen/antigen reaction. I have allergies anyway so I take a zyrtec daily. The zyrtec is a histamine blocker which helps block the antigen/allergen response. Zyrtec is over the counter. Benadryl is really not waranted because benadryl has a shorter half life. Unless you have health conditions that don't allow you to take Zyrtec, try it. Prevention is key. you do not want to let it get to the point of no return.
I've always questioned if they are really night terrors or could they be some kind of seizure. I did take him to the ER and he was kept over night for observaion with no further signs. They took chest xrays, several blood tests, and monitored his blood oxygen levels. Nothing. After eating again tonight his lips turned a lighter shade of blue. I explain the first episode as it looked like he had sucked on a purple popcicle.
Then they made a appointment for me to see a cardi and that was over a week away. So there goes another week of no sleep and constant terror. When i go to the cardiologist he did tons of test and discovered nothing at all wrong, and the murmur was a simple flow murmur. So he simply prescribed Toprol XL for me to help manage my heartrate and bp. After a year of taking toprol i decided i wanted to stop taking it, cause it made me generally tired all the time and just no energy.
it started about a year and half ago, and i started getting night terrors, and the pressure would not go away!! and i had a tingling sensation in my left hand down my neck and my elbow on left hand! so frusterating and scarey! the doctor gave me antibiotic amoxicillin and it caused my skin to burn a bit, and then he referred me to a shrink saying it might be depression or something!!! well, its back again!!
