Cough drops are safe and I believe zyrtec is safe I would double check with your doctor about allergy meds. My doctor let me take zyrtec when my allergies got really bad I ended up getting a bad allergy cold one day I took allergy meds the next I would do cough medicine I couldn't tell if it was just allergies or an actual cold and I couldn't take multi symptom cold medicine only one that treated cough only.

Phenylephrine is not safe in pregnancy. You can take benadryl, claritin, or zyrtec. The best and safest choice is the Nettie pot which is just a saline rinse.

Wish I had more but I had a bad cold last week and that helped. You can also take cold medicine specifically designed for high blood pressure patients.

10mg every day for the first five days and then every other day for the next five, in addition he gets a generic Zyrtec everyday. Now he just gets a zyrtec every day, and if his allergies act up beyond the zyrtec's control, like this time of year ,he gets a prednisone per day for 3 or 4 days and then every other day for two or until things calm down. Zyrtec can be expensive, but we actually found a generic brand at the dollar store! $1. for 14 pills, so we clear their shelves!

For cold and sinus my doctors approved medicine handout lists the following: Tylenol sinus Tylenol cold Benadryl Sudafed Sinutab Chlirtrimeton Claritin Mucinex Zyrtec The hospital here uses the same list BUT its not universal :) hope this helps

I think stress, weather and the food you eat plays a big part in causing the dermographia to appear on your skin. The doctor has prescribed me Zyrtec and said to take it once a day and it has controlled the itchiness and welts so far which is heaven for me but if i accidently scratch myself anywhere on my skin then i still get welts raised on my skin but not as itchy and it goes away after few hours or so.

Im so sick! Im 11 weeks as of today and have a head cold. My nose is so stuffy, ive sneezed probably over 100 times (no lie), I habe an ear ache and a headache! And idk what to take since im not 12 weeks yet.

Without the Zyrtec, my hives are not only unbearable but they also start to present in my throat, mouth and on my lips, so going without it is not really an option for me.

) the only time I feel someone what better is taking Advil Cold and Sinus, the Zyrtec seems to do nothing...... Any advice?

I have been on Celexa for awile and have never had to pass up another needed med because of it. I take omeprazole, also and did take Zyrtec for awhile, but it made me sleepy. I really wouldn't be anxious about interactions with OTC meds. Most of their labels will tell you what not to take them with. Good Luck!

Cough turned to bronchitis and bronchospasms and was put on cough medicine with codine for bedtime and an inhaler every 4 to 6 hrs and robitussin dm every 4 hrs during the day. But you should definitely speak with your dr.

The way I look at it, It is bad enough I have not slept in over a month, but to add the flu/cold is just not right and I need to be able to function and work until I have my baby.( No one else pays my bills but me! No work=not paying mortgage) If its only a few days when you are miserable. I do not see the harm...but others may feel different.

I went on a cruise in June 2010, On the last night of the cruise I came down with a cold or virus. I have had chronic drainage and a cough ever since. I finally got a chest x-ray and the results were slight hyperinflation of the lungs. What can I do for this constant drainage, I take zyrtec daily and it is not really helping me with my allergies anymore.I am 48 and smoked when I was younger but quit 18 years ago.

The doctor gave me XYZAL-sample medicine- for itching. He gave me four pills and plus a Cholestorel medicine called NIASPAN. He said if itching goes away after four days of using the XYZAL, then I will try Niaspin and see how my body will react. Now, after using XYZAL for two days, my body is still itching, there is no diffrence yet. I got two more pills of XYZAL. I'll wait two more days and I'll publish my comment about this medicine. So juss wait for it, but u might also not get sick, evef pregnancy is dif. And I have allergies rediculously! Im 18wks today, and still have them, I take Zyrtec and Tylenol w//o caffeine in it.
