Common Questions and Answers about Zyprexa recreational use

zyprexa

Avatar_n_tn I am a married professional woman who is on Zyprexa after one year of silly recreational drug use whilst at uni. I am now on 5mg of zyprexa to control my thoughts and anger. I also have tried on numerous occasions to get off this drug, but my thoughts start racing and I can't sleep when I go down to 2.5 mg. Is there any hope of getting off this drug? What are my options - does anyone out there know or relate to this?

Also, many long-term and frequent users of this toxic drug have lowered IQs, impaired memory, poor judgment and diminished driving ability.
Avatar_f_tn When you use meds you're attempting to fix a higher consciousness problem with lower level methods. There's no evidence that chemical imbalances even cause disorders. There's no way to test for chemical imbalances in the brain. Even if you monitor a person's brain while they are having disturbances you are seeing the reaction there; not the cause.
Avatar_n_tn I have to say, I have anxiety/depression issues all the time, but I try to forge through them and use as many coping strategies as possible. My mother is fried from years of drug use (never non-prescription either) and I don't want to end up like her. Be careful about those opiates, you may end up miserable if you depend on them. Give yourself the allowance to feel a little bad/jittery some days.
Avatar_n_tn Zanax use to work really well- but it stopped so i was put on klonipin- that worked for about 2 years- so i saw a psychitrist and he diagnoised me w/ social anixiety disorder. Anyway he started me on effexor w/ my klonipin and at first my anixiety was getting better- my dr. increased the effexor to 150mg a day and it helped even more w/ anixiety-but i became 2 laid back- i didnt care a/b my appearance or even getting dressed for the day. I became a couch potato and stayed tired alot.
1323357_tn?1274826939 People that have experienced DP as a result of a bad drug trip or experience have NOT caused long term damage the mechanism is exactly the same, your brain is protecting itself, hiding away to get the rest it needs whether this be from the fear a bad experience causes or from the long term drain the drug use has on your body. For some people, there seems to be no trauma, no drug-inducement, no nothing that caused the DP.
