1655289 tn?1326042889 I'm curious if anyone is taking Topamax for bipolar? I've read it helps with weight loss too. I'm currently taking Zyprexa causing me to gain 45lbs, I want to ask my doctor if I can switch from Zyprexa to Topamax for my bipolar II. I'd love any feedback on either drug and how it affected you.
222267 tn?1253302210 I would ask them questions over and over or I would tell a story that I told them just the day before. My memory was shot. I was acting different and not in your typical BP way. Fourth, my hands shook worse that ever. Not the typical tremors, which can get bad. I couldn't even hold things in my hands. Fifth, I had horrible diarhea. Even if I drank a glass of anything.......i'm won't go into details on that one :) So I see my pdoc today.

Avatar f tn He just came home yesterday from a 3 week stay in a mental hospital. The first day he was there they started him on Zyprexa. By the time he came home they were giving him 10mg 3 times a day! I had no idea how high a dose this was. When I took the prescription to the pharmacy they wouldn't fill it without talking to his doctor. They said the dose was excessive. I found out that this is the dose they would give to a 300lb adult, not to a 45lb little boy.
Avatar m tn Procyclidine is an anticholinergic drug this is also related to memory trouble. Zyprexa is an atypical antipsychotic with affinity to the GABAa recpetor which, like most antipsychotic, can cause memory problem and especially anterograde memory. A wise thing to do would be to get on a nootropic regiment. You need to augment you choline intake due the the disruption in you cholinergic system cause by the anticholinergic drug you use.

Avatar m tn re in an alcohol/substance related group - memory loss can be associated with drinking. It can be associated with many other things, too - from different medications, mental or cognitive health conditions, and even sometimes stress. I think it is very important that you speak to a doctor who can survey your health & lifestyle profile to work with what is known - and other factors that may not be known.

Avatar m tn I have had sleep apnea for many years and recently I have been experiencing short periods of memory loss . I will be doing something then I will forget what I was doing or where I am . It only lasts for 5 to 15 seconds then I am back to normal and I remember what I was doing and where I am. I am able to function during these episodes . It seems to happen when I am relaxed as apposed to when I am concentrating on something. Any idea as to what is happening ?
