Zyprexa generic cost

Common Questions and Answers about Zyprexa generic cost

zyprexa

Actually Zyprexa is now available as a generic. If a person has an issue with the cost of the medication it would make sense for them to ask their psychiatrist for the generic form as its basically the same medication but not being the brand form would be far less expensive (the generic would be called olanzapine).
Other commonly prescribed anit-depressants for folks treating for Hep C include Lexapro, Zoloft and Prozac (which is now available as a generic if cost is an issue.) I've also seen Geodon prescribed for some severe cases, but it is very pricey.
) Has anyone tried any medicines that didn't cause weight gain and didn't cost a fortune. I am on Abilify right now but I am very quickly going to have to change because my insurance isn't that great and it cost me $100. I am on Neurontin and Celexa right now which is great but I can still feel myself going up and down all the time. Or even if I have to go back on Zyprexa has anyone NOT gained weight on it? People told me I would gain weigh on Celexa and I haven't.
By the way, how much did the generic cost you. They make so much profit because they did no research into the drug and therefore---- it is all cash for them. With all that being said, I too have paid full price for a med and wondered why it is so expensive. I do have to keep in mind that I'm not paying for the research that went into THAT drug but the research going into the next drug to come out.
Hey everyone, I thought I'd add to this to clear a few things up. (1) Lamictal works to counteract & prevent the depression phase of bipolar disorder & Depakote works to counteract & prevent the mania/hypomania phase. (2) Depakote amplifies the effect/dosage of Lamictal if they're taken together. For example, if you're taking 100mg Lamictal and 500mg Depakote, it's like you're taking 200mg Lamictal.
I understand your conern.I am on the notorious zyprexa noted for weight gain but the benefit i am getting from it far exceeds the weight gain issue. I am also on thyroid meds. I walk to control my weight as it has gone up a bit since my thyroid surgery Walking. also helps with the depression by lifting your seritonin and dopamine levels so you get a twofold benefit. I know sometimes it is hard to be motivated but it feels so good to walk also talk to your doc about the concerns you are having.
She took all my story for their research files though. Drug trials can cost $500,000,000 so if a drug gets approval for something but will work for a related issue maybe the drug company won't waste money on another set of trials. Possibly the patent would expire for the second usage when the first usage expires, but that is just a guess. I have to assume this antidep also work for sleep since your doc prescribed it, but you might check with your pharmacist.
The depakote seemingly cut alot of my ideas down to a managable size but at a cost. Now I feel as though I am emotionless. Please help. Cause I rally don't want to die before I know peace. I struggle everyday to go to work. My kids keep me going.
I was on Topamax 100 mg previously and lost 20 lbs. I went off it due to the cost, but would like to go back on again, as my migraines are back with a vengeance. I also gained back about 10 lbs. Did anyone who went back on it continue to lose weight? I was told it didn't work the second time around for weight loss. Also, if I am refilling my prescription after being off it for 2 months, should I titrate up? Thanks.
All the web sites I have been to link mental health and well being to the function of the thyroid. I am on zyprexa/celexa combo for the bipolar and synthroid/cytomel for my lack of thyroid.I also have a therapist that works with my med manager and I like to say my bi polar is in remission.I take my meds faithfully now for 6years and that is a bi polar record. Let me know if I can be of any help cause I have been there where you are and I understand. Prayers and hugs for you.
