Avatar f tn I used Buspar 10 years ago and got off ativan and my anxiety went away. I was on Zyprexa at the beginning and yes it caused a big weight gain. I have been on Ativan for a year and a half. My history is long and I think I posted it a couple of times on this site and on the fibromyalgia site. Been through a lot, am tapering slowly off the Ativan but am exchanging to Valium to make the process slower.
Avatar n tn I'm worried about the weight gain with Zyprexa, is there something else that could be used with the Prozac instead? Also until now I've also been taking 1 mg. Ativan in the morning and 1 mg Ativan before bed. Is it safe to use Ativan with the Zyprexa?

Avatar m tn Then, about 2 ½ years ago I had a near-psychotic meltdown, mostly about the devil and evil spirits, and was diagnosed with OCD and prescribed Anafranil and Zyprexa, which helped with the irrational thinking and obsessive thoughts a little. Between now and then, I have been diagnosed with OCD, Social anxiety disorder, GAD, major depressive disorder, ADHD, and most recently, aspergers/high functioning autism.
Pig Can I take Ativan after taking a klonopin last night.

3122467 tn?1342138836 I started taking Zyprexa about 2 weeks ago and since then I have askasthia, which is the worst possible effect I have ever had. I can't sit still, I pace a lot, I am so tired and my eyes want to shut but the rest of my body cannot sit still. I have confronted the pshychiatrist 2 and both times he left me with it and first he gave me a drug that is supposed to help with askasthia, cogentin. Still didn't work.
1082697 tn?1260064616 Firstly just because a side effect doesn't usually happen doesn't mean it can't occur and also it might be an interaction with the Celexa. They should look all this up in the pharmacy database that only physicians have access to. In the meantime you could go to the medication websites yourself or ask your pharmacist. They should definitely check into the interactions between the two as that might be a possibility. Zyprexa was quite sedating for so yes that is more typical though.
Avatar f tn m no longer on olanzapine and I did not know about the posiable drug interaction untill I saw a new Dr recently and started asking why I might be getting leg pains so bad. I did ask her about olanzapine being connected to the pain but she said there should be no lasting so effect's from it now that I'm off the med. I asked her if olanzapine can be stored in the fat cell or anything as I gained 35 kg from olanzapine and when I lost 10kg fairly fast I wonder if there was conection.
640716 tn?1223152206 My mother has had a history of depression, anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder. I don't think she's ever truly been "treated" for this things, except for being prescribed meds. In the past few months, she's been out of work and I've been around more often and witness her in a stupor state some days, a really bad state. I started monitoring her consumption of these pills and she'll take twice or three times the recommended dosage.
Avatar f tn Anyhow, onto my question... In addition to depression, I struggle with anxiety and take 1 mg Ativan as needed, up to 3x/day. The Ativan helps with the anxiety but I've noticed if I have to take it for a few days in a row it really seems to affect my mood, in that I often feel even more depressed than I did before taking it.
Avatar m tn im on ativan-0.5mg,procyclidine-2.5mg,zyprexa-5mg and paxil 10 mg for the last 5,6 years...i am 21,male...last night i smoked some marijuana for the second time in my life....its been 24 hours since i smoked....i need to take my medicines again...i got sober after 3 hours of smoking....its been almost 38 hours since i last took my medicine,i really need to take them again....what do i do?
Avatar f tn since ativan induces sleep and so does the Diphenhydramine portion in the Excedrin PM, the two together can compound (increase) the drowisness. Therefor I cant know if it is safe for you, sorry.
1082697 tn?1260064616 i am on celexa already now for about 10 years at least . the doctor added the zyprexa. now i know it can cause weight gain and can make you sleepy. well, it is doing the opposite with me. i have so much energy and cannot sit still. i sleep good at night for about 6 hours. i do have to watch what i eat. i have gained 5 pounds and just lost 3 of it this week by working out a lot, the doctor never diagnosed me as being bipolar. the zyprexa is working so well.
Avatar f tn Hi I stopped the ativan and zyprexa on tuesday....would it be out of my system by now...I have a toothache and treid tylonol and it did nothing so i took and asprin..i read where asprin and prozac dont reaaly go well together and im also worried about if the zyprexa is still in me...dont know if asprin interacts with zypprexa....is it normal to feel a bit down as im getting used to the new meds?
Avatar f tn It works well but weight gain can sometimes be an issue so keep your diet to a normal amount and see what happens. Do ask your doctors to look this up and give you full information. They can give you the facts.
Avatar m tn I'm taking 9 mg of methodone a day and are taking 4mg of Ativan and 4 mg of dilaudid 2 a day. I've been on meds for 6.5 years. I'm 39 and fill all I do is take meds . I quite once and the pain was to bad is this a lot of med?
Avatar n tn What "kind" of sleep apnea? If obstructive sleep apnea anything that relaxes your throat could aggravate OSA. I suggest doing a web search on you subject as well as read the sided effects. From youy plans it sounds like you don't have a weight problem (one cause of throat obstructions) nor are you old.
1348686 tn?1310654243 Ativan is metabolized via Glucuronidation and is conjugated (metabolized via kidneys). So no interaction there. Ativan is the cleanest Benzodiazepine, which is why the ER favors it. Additionally, it is short-acting and has no active metabolites like Valium. Be advised the Ativan isn't approved for long-term use. It is indicated for as-needed use only on an infrequent basis - a "rescue" med for sporadic attacks.
Avatar f tn I take my zoloft and ativan in morning as it me jittery and causes insomnia. I have seasonal allergies and was wondering the best OTC antihistamine would work better. Allegra, Zyrtec or loratadine. I was on 12.5 zoloft for 2 weeks and tapering up to 25 mg (split another 12.5 in half so 3/4 a pill then one whole 25 mg. I have to do this slowly as I am super sensitive to meds. Thanks for any help. Plus I eventually need to taper down my ativan when I level on the zoloft.
Avatar n tn If your Doctor knew you were taking the Ativan, she should know that Zoloft is listed as a possible interaction on the Ativan prescribing label. I may be on the market for a new Doc if something like this had happened to me. Even if the Doc missed it, you should always tell your Pharmacist what medications you are taking every time you pick up a new one so that they can check for any interactions your Doc may have missed.
Avatar f tn before that i had been on ativan since may 09,,and in jan a dr tried me on lithium depakote and zyprexa all during the month of jan....the last one i was on was zyprexa and stopped it march 2 after only being on it about 2 weeks....im feeling more active than i had been on the prozac but abit more sadness for some reason so dr is upping it to 40 mg////i cnat take it in the am as most people do as it makes me so drowsy....

Dr tries to wean me down but I get sleep deprived the go into full blown mania so he then restarts it. Is it possible weaning off benzos causes mania or is this part of my disorder?
Avatar m tn im on ativan-0.5 to 1 mg,procyclidine-2.5mg,zyprexa-5mg and paxil 10to 20 mg for the last 5,6 years...i am 21,male...i do remember things but forget alot of things i want to remember too, like i watched a movie and i dont remember the scenes, just the outline of the movie,i watched a soccer game, next week ill almost forget it,my brother remembers everything about the game...
1030383 tn?1338460785 I'm withdrawing from Zyprexa, Abilify, Ativan and sertraline. It's been three weeks and I've had terrible nausea, stomach pain, fatigue, and generally not feeling good. How long will this last? And, any ideas on how to deal with mania since I can't just "knock myself out" like usual? I need to get enough sleep to stay out of the hospital!
698408 tn?1256958348 If given a choice between an antipsychotic (Zyprexa) and a mood stabilizer (Depakoate) I would choose Depakoate. Zyprexa does have the risk of tardive dyskinesia. If a person needs an antipsychotic of course they have to take one but Depakoate does not have that risk. Zyprexa also has a severe risk for diabetes. All of the atypicals do but Zyprexa is most likely to.
Avatar f tn I take Toprol for high blood pressure and I checked some drug interaction websites and they advise that Paxil and Toprol can have some kind of interaction with your heart so I'm thinking I have to use a different anxiety/anti-depressant medication or else switch my high blood pressure medication. I have a call into my doctor about the BP meds but I was wondering if anyone has any good experiences or recommendations as to a good anxiety medication.
