Avatar n tn I called my surgeon and he said that is completely normal, it is where he made the incision. I am on Pred Forte 4x day, Xibrom 2x day, and Zymar 4 times a day, but I stop the Zymar tomorrow. I looked everywhere on this site and googled every way I know. I did not see anything related to this issue. If there was going to be a bump that was this noticeable, you would think the dr. or nurse would have warned me. There is no redness anywhere.
Avatar n tn doctor said I had more inflammation than normal and to use Pred Forte every two hours, in addition to Xibrom and Zymar. Could increased inflammation cause the decrease in contrast? Thanks for any information you may offer.....
Avatar m tn Thanks. Now after cataract surgery (left eye) we are given below drops. Zymar 4 times a day for 1 week. Pred Forte 4 times a day for first 3 weeks, 3 times a day next 1 week, 2 times a day for next 1 week, 1 time a day next 1 week. Megabrom 2 times a day for 4 weeks. Megabrom when applied gives prickling/slight burning sensation is it normal? Can Megabrom dose be reduced to 2 weeks. Wondering combination of steroidal and non-steroidal drops.
Avatar f tn To continue or not to continue ? I've been using Zymar for 12 days and the eye infection (mucus film and pink eye) is not completely gone. I was supposed to be completely recovered in 5 days. After 12 days, my eye is about 95% healed. Since " . . . prolonged use may result in overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms, including fungi.", I would like to know if I should continue for a few more days or stop now.
Avatar n tn My doctor gave me prescriptions for Zymar (0.3%), to be used 4X daily for 3 days AND Xibrom (0.09%), 2 X daily for 3 days prior to surgery. After looking on the RXlist medication information site, it says that Xibrom should be used only 24 hours prior to cataract surgery. Any longer could cause corneal adverse events......what kind of events? I'm really nervous about surgery and am beginning to question if I want to go through with it at this time.....What are preferred anesthesias?
Avatar m tn You are going to need to provide more details to get useful information. For instance if you are S/P (status post or after) emulsification (phacoemulsification) with posterior chamber IOL you will not have a "dense cataract" beccause you've already had cataract surgery. Are you talking about problems all in one eye or both? Which eye has what problem? What was recommended to you?
Avatar n tn hi! my doctor said that i have a bacterial conjunctivitis and ws advised to take zymar- gatifloxacin drops for 4x a day for 14 days. Now is my 3rd day of using the said medicine but i felt that my got swell..dont know if this is the effect...i would like to hear any advised..do i have to continue using the medicine of not? pls. help me..
Avatar m tn , rubbing it with my hands seemed to have caused an infection., mucus in my left eye., after seing an optomologist and getting on zymar + azithromycin + benadryl, the tearing + mucus in eye has reduced. Either eye/duct infection is gone from zymar, or my sinus infec has completely cleared or the benadryl is reducing some alergies... anyway., when i apply warm compress and then blow my nose with left nostril blocked., tears + white mucus drains into eye.
Avatar m tn I am using drops prednisolone acetate drop(predmet), zymar, cyclopent, acular ls. Also there is no retina detachment. I still find haziness in day light. I am 36years old and after the surgery my vision is almost 6/12.
Avatar f tn Just looking for anymore information or advise about withdraws from Fioricet / I have been taking this medication from years from Migrain headaches, it's seemed the longer I was on it the less it helped so I would increase my doses because I could not get rid of my headaches the other day I just stopped using it because it was like just this non stop headache.
Avatar n tn I was on zymar and then zylet which I could not tolerate then on oral tetracycline that made it worse. I went to a new eye doc who put me on azasite for 14 days. I am very sensitive which he knows but says it is very tolerable and effective by most. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Bandage lens placed on eye with one week follow up to remove lens. Used Zymar drops 1 x day while bandage on. Told 4-6 wk. heal time. I am at the 4 wk. mark. I have scratchy, gritty, irritated, burning eyes. Called opthamologist several times w/same response of give it time. Using eye drops several times and hour still and pm ointment. GP is ruling out Sjogrens syndrome with bloodwork.
Avatar f tn Sure, you can subsititute another antibiotic (if you can tolerate these drops) such as Tobramycin or Polytrim. For about one patient a week, I have to substitute Tobramycin for my usual floroquinolone Zymar, because the patient has a allergic history. Talk to your surgeon. There should be no problem making the switch here if needed.
Avatar n tn Hello. Hoping someone here might be able to give me some insight as to what is going on with my right eye.Little history first... I've had glasses since I was in 5th grade and worn contacts off and on since around 97. This past Feb. out of nowhere it felt like my vision just took a dive. My glasses just didn't cut it anymore so I went for an exam. When I went in for the exam the Dr. said I was -4.5 in both eyes and that my right eye had a "significant" astigmatism.
Avatar f tn The information you all have provided here is greatly appreciated and not to mention very informative. I'm working on learning everything I can to help two people actually. They're a couple so it's very hard. But I know there are problems with addiction for both of them. I figure the more knowledge I have the more prepared I will be. I have one of them willing to talk to me tonight. He knows what I'm going to be talking about and I'm so surprised he said ok...
408795 tn?1324935675 Although not as specific, it contain much of the same information and is readily available to the patient and the doctor. This information label was given to me by my GI to read and discuss regarding issues related to anger and depression and the potential for needing an AD sometime during trt. I would hope all doctors discuss this prior to trt, but this may not be the case. I'm also curious what "psychological evaluations" are being done.
Avatar f tn There should be a prescribing information sheet included with a prescription medicine that will list known side effects.
Avatar n tn I went to an eye doctor yesterday and she gave me Zymar and Acular to treat it and told me not to rub my eyes or try to clean them out when it starts. How can you work and function when it's doing this??? Just wondering if anyone else has this and what it's called.
Avatar m tn My surgeon is watching it and keeping me on Pred Forte and Zymar. I was 20-30 the day after surgery and 1 week later 20-40. (Our goal was Plano.) I had my Optometrist check the eye today as an informal second opinion and he said there was a strange film like coating on the proximal (front) side of the lens and that was likely causing the starburst. It was uneven and had a clear segment in the center of the eye. Is it usual to have a coating form on the front side of a newly implanted IOL?
Avatar n tn My surgeon has prescribed 4 drops of Pred Forte per day for 6 weeks tapering off for 2 weeks following cataract surgery on both eyes. I've read that PF actually delays healing in these cases. I had to use Prednisone for months for an unrelated problem and suffered all the usual side affects - moon face, obese trunk, etc. Do I really need to take Pred Forte for so long? I'm also using Zymar (for ten days) and Xibrom (for 8 weeks) in each eye.
Avatar f tn I think your local Pharmacist would have this information. If not they will probably get it for you. They are the true experts in medication and prescribing law and best of all their service is free. I hope you are able to find the answers.
Avatar m tn zymar, pred forte, and ciprofloxicillin opthalmic, all prescribed by the opthamologist. He insists there is no connection between the cataract surgery and these incidents of bleeding. Can it reall just be a coincidence----two days later----especially in somebody who was completely healthy and active? It might also be worth mentioning, she smokes a pack of cigarettes a day? Thanks for any help and/or advice!
