Zopiclone withdrawal schedule

Common Questions and Answers about Zopiclone withdrawal schedule

Avatar f tn I think that giving zopliclone the kick at this stage is a very good plan. Many people find that these meds have the same tolerance problem as opiates. Zopiclone is very benzo like in its effects so it's important to have a good taper plan. Some doctors still seem to think it can be stopped cold turkey but if necessary you can refer your md to Dr Ashton's site which has a tested schedule for zopiclone tapering with minimal withdrawals:- http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/bzsched.
Avatar f tn Long-term zopiclone users who have become physically dependent should not discontinue their medication abruptly as severe withdrawal symptoms may occur such as delirium.
Avatar m tn How effective is Zopiclone as a sleeping aid?Is it effective?.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed zopiclone 7.5mg for 4 weeks by my doctor. It was supposed to be 1 at night but i find 1/2 a tablet helps me get 6-7 good hrs which i am happy with. my question is will i get withdrawal from taking 1/2 tablet nightly for 4 weeks if i stop or will i need to taper? Also is it realistic to expect my liver to repair itself given time....i have no symptoms of liver damage....i'm asking just in case?
Avatar m tn I was taking 100mgs oxycodone a day for chronic back and knee pain, 900mgs gabapentin also for chronic pain, also 3(7.5mg) zopiclone at night to sleep and 1.5(7.5mg) during the day to sleep. I have stopped the oxycodone cold turkey with bad withdrawals, now at 13 days. My question is can I safely stop the zopiclone cold turkey or do I need to slowly taper off it?
1622896 tn?1562364967 Hi my GP is cutting down my zopiclone i dont want him to so i am asking is it going to be easy or hard ???????
Avatar n tn Basically I mix trazodone and zopiclone because I was instructed to by the GP. When I needed to take more Zopiclone I first made sure there were no reported contraindications between it and trazodone anyway, and held back to two thirds the dosse of trazodone to part compensate for the increase in the other. I feel if anything, reporting that should hopefully clarify to anybody reading this that a mix of those two drugs is not of medical concern, as it was suggested by my GP.
779368 tn?1252646346 Zopiclone acts unselectively on all benzo receptors,as do Xanax & klonopin. It feels like it packs less of a punch, I was never drowsy the next day but take it for more than a week or two at your peril. I had all the classic benzo withdrawal symptoms & only then appreciated that it's "non-benzo" characterization was a bit of creative marketing by some drug company rep.
Avatar f tn Hi Ricart. I spoke to my BF about this and we concur that I still have relatively the same amount of opiates in my system, the difference being I am taking one long acting as opposed to 3 or 4 short actors. No wonder I am not uncomfortable. I really haven't withdrawn from anything. He's running low on his meds, though, and I can't impose on him anymore. What I do have is a script for Fioricet with codeine.
874521 tn?1424116797 I have never heard of this med so I googled it and from what I read you are NOT supposed to stop this drug abruptly. To avoid seizures and psychosis you need to taper off.The w/ds from stopping this drug c/t were compared to benzos and similar to alcohol.Which are 2 w/ds that can be very dangerous.I think it is in your sons best interest to consult his doctor ASAP about this and enlist his help in coming off of this drug safely. All the best...
Avatar f tn http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/bzsched.htm I understand you wanting to cling to the zopiclone but it was not designed for & has never been tested as safe for such long term use. Ring around & find an understanding doctor & you can taper off in a controlled way & stop worrying.

5093508 tn?1390543931 I started that 2 days ago, and the anxiety is worse, and unbearable, sweats, tummy full of fear, like someone giving me a fright constantly, and the adrenalin flows too much, shakes, nausea. I am prescribed zopiclone to help me sleep. Before weaning of Tramadol, only having 1 now and then, not every night as prescribed. Now I foolishly began using it to help me cope with the withdrawals, not knowing that zopiclone is highly addictive too, and extremely hard to get off. Oh God, Help!
Avatar f tn Could you please help me with a wean schedule for hydrocodone 7.5. I am taking 2 to 3 a day for 2 years. It is not the euphoria that I am addicted to anymore it is the increased energy I get. My body is addicted to it and if I don't take it I feel horrible. I stopped cold turkey one time and felt horrible I went through withdrawl and never want to feel that way again. My body is addicted to it and I want to stop I feel llike it makes me feel angry and I don't like that either.
Avatar f tn I have depression and post traumatic Stress disorder and am currently on Mirtrazipine, Venoflaxine, Quitiepine and Zopiclone I have been treated for this since my mid twenties, last year I had three small focal seizures which no pathology found. I am now about to start on Sodium Valproate increasing dosage initially to 250mg in morning and 500mg at night this is being prescribed primarily as a mood stabiliser but is thought to help stop the seizures.
Avatar f tn i am a reasonably healthy 46yo female & spent 18 years on methadone before being involuntarily withdrawn from 75mg methadone over an 8 week period. Last 20mg I came off at 1mg per day. I am now taking (not prescribed) 5-20mg methadone per day as I couldn't cope with some withdrawal symptoms. Suboxone is not available to me in New Zealand & my GP prescribed zopiclone 7.5mg for sleep.
