t come as well as if you took your normal dose but your body will start to sleep naturally again in time - the sooner you stop these the better / quicker you'll sleep naturally again. I used to use them only at times when I needed to sleep and I was still awake due to anxiety after like 2am. I tried to never get my body used to them I.e like addicted.
Just been browsing through this site and there seems to be a lot of support going on! My main problem is insomnia, from a young age (10) I've been on various medications to help with this. Up until a year ago I was on a number of anti-depressants which weren't helping, so I decided to take myself off them and try to learn to be more positive. One year on and apart from some dark days that has been great but still the marijuana and zopiclone remain.
However, this is disputed by one study of low dose zopiclone taken for only 7 nights. It found that discontinuation of zopiclone caused significant rebound insomnia. Furthermore when midazolam taken for 7 nights was discontinued no rebound insomnia occurred suggesting that zopiclone may have even more significant problems of tolerance and dependence than the benzodiazepines. After 3 weeks of use mild to moderate rebound withdrawal symptoms appear upon discontinuation of zopiclone.
Hi all, I have had sleep problems for the last 6 years. I started on zopiclone about 18 months ago which are great most of the time for getting me off to sleep, however I still wake up to 3 times during the night and wake in the morning feeling like i've had no sleep. I take 3.75mg as my normal dose, sometimes I take 7.5 and sometimes when i'm hyper (i'm bipolar) i take the max dose of 10.75mg.
The thing is, as I'm still not getting a restful sleep very often, what do I do.
I have been taking zopiclone for five years. I was on 7.5-15mg and I cut myself back and take 2.5-7.5mg now. I need to be off them for work. I have tried Benadryl and gravol for sleep aids, but they seem to be touch and go.
The zopiclone helps with anxiety in the late evenings. I take it about two hrs b4 bed time and I slowly settle in to going to bed.
Basically I mix trazodone and zopiclone because I was instructed to by the GP. When I needed to take more Zopiclone I first made sure there were no reported contraindications between it and trazodone anyway, and held back to two thirds the dosse of trazodone to part compensate for the increase in the other. I feel if anything, reporting that should hopefully clarify to anybody reading this that a mix of those two drugs is not of medical concern, as it was suggested by my GP.
From March, 2010, I started to take zopiclone at the same time, the maxinum I had taken was 16pills/day and now I was taken 8-10pills/day.
I found that I got weight loss, weakness, non stable mental all the days.
I want to quit all of them but it seems very difficult because everyday I had to work for money.
Could anyone tell me some good ideas to quit them? It would be very appriciate. thank you.
If these two drugs are cross tollerant will your physical addiction will just swap over and you'll go into withdrawl once you stop taking the zopiclone, even though zopiclone is not a benzo?
i have been on ativan 21yr recently withdrawn havent had them for 6mths now,but now up against the zopiclone i was prescribed a high dose through day 7.5mg 4td then takein down to 3.
My hot flashes are now looked after by the ERT but the sleep problems aren’t. I have been on Zopiclone for the past 7 months; am now taking 5 mg at bedtime and 5 more mg in the middle of the night. I still wake up 6-8 times in between, never getting more than 2-3 hours at a stretch, am exhausted and moody. In January my PCP started me on Effexor XR and he wants to double it to 150mg help boost norepinephrine. I had a hard time with nausea when I started it and hesitate.
I am also taking 1000 mg of Riba along with my injection of 135 µ of Pegetron. Now to add to this I’m on 10 mg of Citolpram (anti-d) and ½ sleeping tablet (3.5 mg), Zopiclone.
My liver biopsy was very good prior to tx.
How much drugs can a poor liver handle?
I also can’t understand where the sinus infection came from as I didn’t have a cold or flu. It just happened.

I have depression and post traumatic Stress disorder and am currently on Mirtrazipine, Venoflaxine, Quitiepine and Zopiclone I have been treated for this since my mid twenties, last year I had three small focal seizures which no pathology found. I am now about to start on Sodium Valproate increasing dosage initially to 250mg in morning and 500mg at night this is being prescribed primarily as a mood stabiliser but is thought to help stop the seizures.
Hi I posted earlier about being 10 days clean from zopiclone and how I was stiff sore and headaches well I just now went through a bout of sweating and anxiety and all I could think of was should I refill my script and try again after my vacation, or take one ativan I feel so imbarrased and like a failure for even thinking such a thing.I truly thought I was over the hump and on my way back to normal, I need advice this anxiety is scary and will definately ruin our vacation if it keeps up.
so i went to dr and i was put on methadone, it took away all w/d for percs n oxyz, i startd 3 wks ago, at 30 dose, n went up to 50 dose, as i would wd the next day, but at the 50 dose(1 wk) i have no w/d. so i been clean from booze n other drugs 3 mths, percs oxy 3 wks-but on methadone, cigs 1 and half weeks but on nicorette.
Hi I have been taking zopiclone for 6 years to relieve sleep problems at first and then started to take them in the day to calm me..I am now up to about 10 7.% mg a day off the internet...I want this to stop now, I am also alcoholic but no longer drink, Im scared if I stop the zopiclone too quickly I will have seizures as I did with alcohol withdrawl....
When you can get to a point where your dose is very low and you are only taking one dose per day, you should be able to stop without too much withdrawal. Going this route will also make the w/d time shorter, so you should have a mild w/d and feel better in just a few days. Make sure you drink plenty of water, eat well, and get some exercise. That will help you feel better. Keep posting, people here will help you.
I was taking 100mgs oxycodone a day for chronic back and knee pain, 900mgs gabapentin also for chronic pain, also 3(7.5mg) zopiclone at night to sleep and 1.5(7.5mg) during the day to sleep. I have stopped the oxycodone cold turkey with bad withdrawals, now at 13 days. My question is can I safely stop the zopiclone cold turkey or do I need to slowly taper off it?
