zomig

768044 tn?1294223436 Mostly I stick with my Zomig and for the majority of my migraines and the Zomig works. It tends to only be the migraines that wake me up that the zomig just won't work for. Or, sometimes if a migraine comes back on the same day, a second dose of zomig won't work to get rid of it either and it will be much more severe when it comes back. Although, really, over-all, the zomig works the majority of the time.
910419 tn?1289483727 I have a tentative diagnosis of basilar migraine that got slapped on me ~7 years ago. That was before my heart condition was diagnosed, so I'm not sure if I still qualify. The thing is, I have an Rx for Zomig, (a triptan) and my mom's made me really scared of taking the Zomig for fear of cutting off blood circulation. Does anybody else here have basilar migraines and take triptans? If not, do you have an abortive of any kind?
Avatar n tn After some time of taking zomig nearly everyday I had to resort to syndol again. The side effects of zomig are not pleasant at all and drain all my energy and are too expensive to take everyday. The syndol seemed to be working but after a while they kind of stopped working again but was again addicted. I have lost hope of my headache problem ever being solved. I cannot stand all this pain and drugs. One way or another I feel sick all times of the day with no exaggeration whatsoever.
Avatar f tn Headache on left front side with a crazy visual aura, took zomig, hour later took ibuprofen 600, albuterol sulfate and Ritalin. Cold and hot feeling across skin, mostly on right side, nausea, joint pain, burning pain in abdomen and chest, dizzy, tired and short of breath. Migrating sharp pains across body. Ringing ears. Vision is unnaturally blurry. Chest and stomach symptoms worsen when laying down, head symptoms worsen when standing up.
454371 tn?1221297385 This is more of a comment, If you are taking an SSRI and you mix it with Tramodol, Ultram, you are increasing your chance for a seizure. Please be careful. My dr long ago put me on Ultram I also took celexa. Well after one dose of ultram, I started to see stars, Then got light headed, Next thing I know, I am waking up on the floor in the store. Needless to say, Scared out of my mind.. Come to find out. You are not suppose to mix those meds...
Avatar f tn As for triptans, my regular triptan is Zomig Nasal Spray. On average, I use Zomig Nasal Spray every other day. But, there are times where I will go 3 or 4 days without needing to use it. And there are also times where I will use it every day for sometimes up to a week. My Zomig Nasal Spray works about 90% of the time and I have no side effects either, except sometimes if I am using it every single day then my nose will get raw or I will get nose bleeds. I pretty much love my Zomig.
1102283 tn?1257817472 I personally use Zomig Nasal Spray and find it works extremely well. I also have found great success with Maxalt-MLTs. Although, everyone is different and all of the triptans on the market have been proven effective in clinical trials, so please discuss with the doctor in the clinic which triptan would be the most appropriate in your situation. Although, if you want to go in suggesting something...
Avatar f tn ve had migraines for years (comes with having 4 kids I think-ha); the only meds that help relieve most of the pain are Zomig (really expensive, but no generic version yet) and Meloxicam (generic for Mobic) - both pills taken together usually decrease pain within an hour or two. Hope this helps. My doc also suggested Imitrex when I can't afford the Zomig anymore.
521800 tn?1212329682 Thank you for your response, next time I go to the doctor i will definitly ask for an antimigraine. I used to also use the Zomig Nasal Spray but that would just immediatly put me to sleep and when i would wake up my body would feel sore but my headache was gone. i had also tried other pills to take as soon as i felt the migraine coming but those never really worked. Is there anything i should be worried about with the zomig because that seemed to be the only thing that worked before.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have experience with using Zomig or one of the other Triptan medications during pregnancy? What was your experience like? Tylenol is not working for me.
Avatar n tn Hi.... in order that I use them: Home use: - Zomig nasal spray... it is a triptan... so, a migraine medication. At the first signs of a migraine. - Naproxen tablets. If the triptan doesn't provide relief. Help it out with Naproxen... a strong prescription NSAID that is often used for migraine pain. - Gravol tablets. Also will use this if the zomig doesn't help. OR i will use this along with the zomig right away if i have nausea with the migraine.
Avatar n tn Though widely used, the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class of antidepressant (fluoxetine [Prozac], paroxetine [Paxil], escitalopram [Lexapro]) is relatively ineffective for headache. Abortive treatment: This is designed to stop a headache once it has begun. Medications include ergotamine (Bellamine, Cafergot), acetaminophen-isometheptene-dichloralphenazone (Midrin), dihydroergotamine (D.H.E.
Avatar f tn Here's what I know. Tramadol contains an antidepressant similar to Effexor which is an SSRI. If you take certain amino acids ( like Melatonin ) or other drugs that affect Seratonin ( like triptans ) you run the risk of Seratonin Syndrome. It can happen more than once. Elavil is an antidepressant but not an SSRI. One of the most pronounced side effects from that is drowsiness. With the symptoms you're describing, you should call the doctor tomorrow and discuss everything.
86075 tn?1238115091 I have taken zomig for my migraines. it comes in a pill or nasal spray. if you can deal with nasal spray use it. it works really fast i just cant spray anything up my nose! haha one time was all i could handle. i take maxalt. for me it works the fastest. your dr. will probably give you several diff. kinds of samples and have you see which works best on you.
Avatar f tn He suggested that this is autoimmune in nature and that an SSRI may help. i tried Prozac for a week once and some of my endocrine bloodwork went wacky (prolactin level was 165, normal is no higher than 30 and I was having hot flashes) Have any of you had any luck with an antidepressant in this class? My primary doc is reluctant as he says i am not depressed, although the situation can be depressing.
Avatar n tn Is ssri weight gain dose dependent?
Avatar f tn I take Zomig (I get migraines about 3-5 times a year) and Zomig knocks it out. Ironically, Norco used to give me headaches and then unfortunately, I became accustomed to them and addicted to them...... Now I am on day 14 with no opiates and I am still not quite well, but better each day. I won't be touching those demonic yellow pills anymore. Fortunately, my pain level is manageable as well. Opiates cause rebound pain the same way rebound headaches work. I wish you the best.
Avatar n tn i did get a script for zomig nasil spray it helpes but dont last long.nothing shows up on my mri , thankfully the tumor is still gone. i have tried so many meds , like you cant rember there names. thanks for your service in the military , sorry you had to go threw this serving our country. take care of your self.
306455 tn?1288862071 Wow, Thank you for that! I am a weather head too. That is how my Hydro use came into play. If the winds change I get one. They would burn me as witch if I lived back then. I can predict rain, snow, big weather changes about 2 days in advance.. I use to use imtrex but it gave me kidney stones now it is Zomig but if I don't catch it in time I am done. Topmax as a preventive. I do know about the insurance thing 9 pills only for 4 weeks or 6 nasal sprays for 4 weeks.
768044 tn?1294223436 Anyway, I told him about the very severe migraines I sometimes get that are much more severe then the normal severe migraines, and how even if I take one or two of everything I have to treat migraines (zomig + naproxen + metoclopramide + gravol + hydromorphone + non-pharmaceutical treatments) that nothing works to even touch the pain and I needed something to treat these unusually (well, unusually for me) severe migraines because I was scared of what I might do to get out of pain if I was alone
1807779 tn?1333840302 I take fiorcet whenever I have a bad headache. It works well for me.
