If you take lorazepam on a regular basis it is classified as an addictive drug. People do respond very differently, but for many that means you'll need to keep upping the dose as it stops working. You could move to clonazepam, a longer lasting benzo, but you'd still have the dependency problem. Benzos are just better if taken on an as-needed basis, not regularly, if you can do that.

I have been taking Lorazepam for about 8 years now. My doctor has never objected to me tapering off of the medication, however, I find it extremely difficult to do so. My Dr. said that i have been taking this medication for so long, that it actually has an adverse effect (point being, I take it so i don't get withdrawal symptoms vs. taking it for anxiety like it was originally prescribed for). I currently take 1mg in the morning and then 1mg at night.

I would not be concerned about this if you are asymptomatic. If there are palpitations you should consider an event monitor vs. an EP study. Most of these are not associated with any tachycardia and don't require an ablation procedure. Don't be scared.

Did the same doctor prescribe you the Lorazepam during your other pregnancy? Quitting cold turkey sounds a little off to me when it comes to an anxiety medication although if you are only taking one in the evenings the withdrawal might not be too bad. You need more information from your doctor and if you are not getting the support you need from this one, I would advise switching to one who is better at explaining and listening.

If i did fall asleep would wake up at some point shakey,sweaty,scared.Prescribed Lorazepam .5 twice a day. Will sometimes break the pill into 4 taking 1/4 and only once at night. Worry about dependence,withdrawl,etc. but can't live anxious staring at the ceiling all night. In a vicious cycle,worry all day,worry all night. Trying not to add another problem. Look at the prescription bottle to see which company manufactured the zolpidem. For many years a pharmacy sent me 90 day supplies of zolpidem from Mylan (manufacturer) which worked well. Hello and hope you are doing well. Insomnia is a side effect of Amitriptyline. But you may develop tolerance to this effect. However if it persists, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Any of you guys have an opinion on usgae low dose to zolpidem 5mg along with 25/50mg of diphenhydramine.....does one cancel out other or issing together worse on liver or not.....?

I previously alternated between temazepam and zolpidem for sleep. I also take gabapentin. Three weeks ago I stopped temazepam and tramadol. I am taking zolpidem every night now and continue gabapentin 3x a day. I don't crave either of the meds I quit, but I have been experiencing inability to concentrate, ringing in my ears, vomiting, blurry vision, sweating, confusion, anxiety and mood swings. The symptoms wax and wane and I can't find a pattern.

d go straight into a panic so they started me on zolpidem 10 at night. I have been on it for 18 months now and zolpidem does not work, and I don't want to take more, so will try wean off that, but I know what will happen, back to adrenalin rushes...plus Xanax seems to have no effect, but if I don't take it, I know I have'nt, if that makes sense. Started getting panic attacks and anxiety. Came home and followed up with my doc who perscribed me lorazepam. 3x day 1mg. Felt the axienty gone in about 10 days and stopped taking the lorazepam 4 days ago....keep in mind, during the last 15 days I havent taken OC or Subox. d recommend giving either Klonopin or Ativan/Lorazepam a try. Lorazepam is a short-acting benzo. as well, but has a slightly longer half-life than Xanax, and it works quickly, yet it specifically targets anxiety and has fewer chances of side effects. Klonopin has been found to be a smoother acting benzo.

s generic form zolpidem. it has always work up until two months ago when apparently the pharmacy changed suppliers. i took the little round purle pill up until then and now i take a white oval one. This one does not seem to be working as well and the side effect just seem wierd Does anyone think that the new manufacturer product is inferior and has anyone experienced this?

At this time I was also taking zolpidem every night. I read some stuff on zolpidem side effects and it appeared that after my surgery some of the rare side effects started cropping up. I attributed my anxiety to that. So I quit the zolpidem ct (which I probably shouldn't have) and did have a miserable few weeks, but a lot of the pains I was feeling went away. Of course new pains showed up like a back ache, which I still have.

I am prescribed 12.5mg. of zolpidem but my insurance will only cover RX for 10mg. Is this safe to switch?

I recently had to switch my med doctor because of my age. I have really bad insomnia and have all my life. I'm usually okay once asleep but I cant fall asleep on my own. I was put on 100mg on seroquel but it was reduced overtime because it was causing me to sleep too much, uncontrollably. I now take 25mg at night. But it still takes around 3 hours after I take it before I fall asleep. Well the other day my new doctor put me on 10mg of Zolpidem to take at night with the seroquel....

along with opiates, I was addicted to xanax or any other benzo(valium, librium, temezepam, clonazepam, lorazepam,triazolam etc.) and sleeping pills-ambien(zolpidem), sonata(zaleplon), and lunesta(epizopiclone) for two years as well. I would take the benzos with opaites to add to the effects or while withdrawling to ease it somewhat and i would take the sleeping pills to aid in sleeping while high and withdrawling as well.

My wife has been Zolpidem (generic Ambien) for 20+ yrs. She recently took a job in China and has been told the ultrasound show 'fatty infiltration of the liver'. Zora 10 is a generic zolpidem from India. Supposedly. Its an orange tab made by an outfit called Cyril Labs in Mumbai. Avoid this stuff. It does not work like real ambien. I threw it away. Same goes for another Indian off brand called Zolfresh. It also came from Mumbai. It won't kill you; It just doesn't work. Thumbs down on meds from India.

My dad has been taking Zolpidem for over 3 years and recently I found out Zolpidem is used for treating short term insomnia. I'd like to know if it can be used for long term and if whether there are any medications available which can be used for long term treatment.

I have suffered from insomnia for about 3 years now and have tried trazadone and zolpidem tartrate. I am currently on zolpidem 10 mg. I do not have trouble maintaining sleep just onset. Usually this occurs 3-4 nights a week and can lay awake for 2-4 hours before falling asleep. This causes me to be extremely tired the next day. I really avoid taking naps and can "power" through the day only to feel wide awake come bed time around 11-12 pm.
