Hello, Using zolpidem together with Seroquel may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience some impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Also take the medicines at different intervals. With regard to the Omeprazole, I was taking 20 mg twice a day when I read on another forum that the Omeprazole interferes with Sovaldi and Olysio in that they need the acid to work best. I asked my doctor about this and he said it's true the drugs do need the acid and advised me to only take 20 mg once a day and to take it 12 hours before the S/O. Not sure if this relates to Harvoni though.
I have a moment so I'll chime in: Be Careful With Milk Thistle! I guess it would have it's benefits before or after TX... but certainly NOT a replacement for TX... I was also told NOT to take Milk Thistle while on TX... & the reason might be because of interactions with the other treatment drugs.. See Below..

I know oral steroids are contraindicated w Incivek (and you're finished w Incivek), but I'm not sure about interactions between oral steroids and Interferon or Riba. You could google them for interactions, but presumably the doc on call who prescribed it would know. I think this side effect will pass soon, but people have struggled with this on Incivek and shortly after.
html A Warning About Milk Thistle and Drug Interactions The seeds of the milk thistle plant are commonly used by some individuals in the hope of protecting the liver from damage caused by hepatitis viruses as well as alcohol and other substances. Compounds found in milk thistle -sylibin, sylimarin - act as antioxidants and also stimulate the repair of the liver. Hey Team, Wanted to apprise y'all of a website I was steered to some time ago that enables you to check ALL interactions, including even good ol' aspirin. Web site is: http://www.aidsmeds.com/Interactions.asp I initially thought it was aid (ing) meds & once on the site I saw it was for aids patients & thought, well, they won't be able to help me with the plethora I take every day as most are of the garden variety & that which I need to do that living thing!
I've been on one form of Zolpidem or another for about 5 years. I've been told this medication isn't supposed to be prescribed to someone at 16, but I was given Ambien after having bad results for insomnia with trazadone, remeron, and amitryptaline. I've used several doctors to get this medication and have used over 200 mg at times. Currently I've burnt the majority of my bridges as far as sources go to try and restrict my access but it is an everyday battle as I have relapsed several times.
The medical industry has to look at itself and evaluate the education of its doctors about the side effects and drug interactions. We also have learned how to listen to our patients, which is not easy with the busy schedules and busy waiting rooms. However, no matter how busy, a doctor cannot practice good medicine if he does not take time to educate him/herself and carefully listen to the patient.
