Zoloft withdrawal in children

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft withdrawal in children

zoloft

Avatar f tn re probably suffering start-up side effects from the Zoloft in combination with the withdrawal from Paxil. I hope it all goes away soon.
Avatar m tn Does Tramadol have as much SSRI in it as Zoloft? Does 100mg of Tramadol have as much SSRI as say 50mg of Zoloft? I was taking Tramadol while I was going through Zoloft withdrawal and I'm just wondering if I stunted the healing process of my Zoloft withdrawal. My body and mind still don't feel 100% since quitting Zoloft, but it's definitely getting better.
Avatar f tn If you feel at any time negative and/or harmful thoughts about your children, go to the hospital or call 911 okay? You emotionally abandoned your children by what you said. Do you know how that will affect a child? Get some help now, if you can't take care of them and have no family, call child protective services until you can get healthy again. You might be able to fix the damage, but emotionally abusing a child is NEVER okay.
Avatar m tn Today I took 1 Vicodin (Labeled M367, 10/325 norco) I took my last Zoloft 14 days ago. I was on 50 mg Zoloft. I took my first Zoloft pill on December 19, 2014 and I took my last Zoloft pill on January 19, 2015. I'm currently going through Zoloft withdrawals and have many of the typical Zoloft withdrawal symptoms. I was just wondering if taking a Vicodin will interfere with the recovery of my Zoloft withdrawal?

Avatar f tn I stopped taking Zoloft (100mg once a day) a few days ago. I had no withdrawal at all. This morning I woke up with the most intense vertigo and nausea I've ever had. I have a fear of throwing up so I'm on the verge of tears because I do not want to throw up. I tried eating and I even took 50mg of Zoloft to see if that was the problem. But it's been 3 hours and I'm sitting here at work wondering if I should go home or if it's even safe for me to drive.
1269044 tn?1393189903 So I'll first state that I understand you all are not my doctor and I should only take the advice of my doctor. That being said just want opinions. I've been on 25mg Zoloft for four weeks. Now my anxiety is improving darkness too. But I feel so disconnected and flat. Idk if it's the Zoloft causing it or normal recovery. I just don't feel myself. I recall from quitting before I did not feel like this and I was not on an ad.
Avatar n tn It goes on, stating that in clinical trials there were no connections between zoloft and suicide in children either with OCD or drepression. I want to help my daughter be happy, but why would the psychiatrist place her on a medication which is not approved by the FDA??
Avatar f tn I used the exact same tapering schedule to wean myself off Zoloft. In my case, I didn't experience any withdrawal effects.
Avatar n tn and it is true in my case. I have 2 children in their 40s and never stop worrying about them. My daughter has two failed marriages, and my son has just married for the 2nd time. I went to pieces when his first marriage broke up. I myself am divorced. When I was on Zoloft I collected my prescription for six months, but did not take any tablets. I went to see my doctor, with my daughter about my depression, and took out six months worth of anti-depressant.
Avatar n tn As, I said, I am now back on it, and realize that I will have withdrawal again, but in my experience, it has definately been a useful tool in overcoming this condition and with proper medical supervision and counseling I believe that it has helped me. I am sorry that you had such a bad experience with it.
Avatar f tn I had problems with insomnia so my psych added 100mg Zoloft and changed the Wellbutrin to 150mg XL once a day. I take the Wellbutrin in the morning and I take the Zoloft at night at night before I go to sleep. I wake up feeling really groggy and foggy headed. It takes me a good few hours to fully wake up. I'm good for a few hours and then by 12pm I just crash. By 9pm I'm wide awake! I have to work at 8:30 am so I need to sleep a full night to be able to work the next day.
Avatar m tn That is great but I once tolerated the SSRIs just fine and now all of the sudden my body seems to be in a constant withdrawal when taking Paxil or Lexapro (20 mg). Any ideas? Since being off of the Lexapro I am feeling very depressed. It has been just about two weeks of being off and I definitely felt better while being on the medication. Perhaps I didn't realize I am depressed and well as anxious. I feel really sad and depressed now that I am off the Lexapro.
Avatar m tn //mentalhealthdaily.com/2014/04/15/zoloft-sertraline-withdrawal-symptoms-list-duration/ I was listening to a song I always use to think was very catchy before I took Zoloft, and now I can't figure out what was so appealing about the song. Do you think that's from lack of emotion combined with the other symptoms I've been having?
Avatar n tn Lexapro is mainly used to treat major depression in adolescents and anxiety in adults. Zoloft has wider applications in post-traumatic stress disorder, OCD, anxiety, and depression. Luvox, Lexapro and Zoloft are all antidepressants and are known as serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). All three are longer acting SSRIs, but have different half lives, different pharmacokinetics etc so can show difference in side effects and withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar m tn Will my brain and body still heal from the Zoloft withdrawal even if I'm taking Vicodin? Will taking Vicodin interfere with the Zoloft withdrawal process?
Avatar f tn It most likely is withdrawal. It's dangerous to not take these types of medications as prescribed, and you never want to abruptly just stop these types of medications due to withdrawal. I assume and hope that the Zoloft was prescribed by a psychaitrist? If so he would be able to tell you how to taper off. Also, being without the medication may be causing you anxiety, which in turn will cause your current symptoms. All this may also mean you still need the medication.
Avatar f tn the one you went with which was to wean entirely off zoloft OR you could have increased your zoloft dose as that medication in particular is very often underdosed and third option would be to go to a different medication altogether. Zoloft and drugs like it in that class can 'poop out'. But that doesn't mean you still don't need treatment. From what you describe, you may still need help for the mental health issues you experience.
Avatar n tn can zoloft cause or aggravate rage in young children? Will Tenex and or Zoloft aggravate psychotic features?
Avatar n tn s the downside of moving immediately from one med to another without completing a nice slow taper from the one first. Especially Paxil, which is known to have a strong withdrawal. If the Zoloft proves problematic, taper it down slowly; don't do this again. And as far as I know, none of these is particularly great for a baby to be born taking. The other problem is that Zoloft hopefully will work, but there's no guarantee one ssri will substitute for another.
Avatar f tn Not saying this is impossible, I would never say anything is impossible with drugs that affect the brain, but is it possible you were on another medication before going on the Zoloft that you might be suffering withdrawal from? You were also on an extremely low dose. Not ruling your theory out, but would suggest looking for an alternative theory so you don't miss anything here.
Avatar n tn Anyhow, I had NO ringing in the ears from Zoloft. None. About the main side-effect I had on Zoloft was fatique, lack of libido, constipation, lethargy, more fatique...you get the picture. Zoloft helped me with my panic attacks ,which many yrs ago I did suffer. Zoloft also helped me with my clinical depressions. That's why my Doc prescribed "Z" for me.
1612112 tn?1298347577 I finally put myself in rehab at age 24 and have now been off of all narcotics and alcohol for over a year... But while I was in rehab I started taking 50 mg zoloft. My main reasons for starting this medicine is because of my panic attacks and social anxiety. I stopped taking the zoloft for about 4 or 5 months after leaving rehab. At first I had the brain zaps for a months or so, then I would get very angry really often.
Avatar n tn You're not clear on the timetable here, at least to my humble brain. Some of your symptoms are a bit odd -- did you say you went completely off klonopin and didn't suffer any withdrawal after taking a high dose for so long (3mg)? Here's my confusion: Paxil is known to pack a wallop of a withdrawal, and many of your reported symptoms sound more like Paxil withdrawal than klonopin withdrawal.
1131237 tn?1260211024 I have been on zoloft for almost 20 yrs, have tried several other anti-depressants in the past but always come back to Zoloft. My physician has suggested effexor which I tried and it helped with my nerve pain, but made me a little "nuts". Now my new doc wants to add a norepinefrin to my or something else since my siutation healthwise is so despairing at times....plus with Zoloft, weight loss is almost impossible, which would help my health issues.
Avatar m tn I know no one comments on my post and it alright but listen.
Avatar f tn There are different theories out there about what causes depression. Some MD's think its psychological and does not involve the brain, some think its all physiological (all physical), and some think its a mixture of both. Sorry if I seemed a bit on the physical side but my research points to that. The "Chemical Imbalance" statement that is thrown around isn't really an "imbalance". Its the level of a certain chemical or neurotransmitter compared to normal.
