Zoloft withdrawal fatigue

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft withdrawal fatigue

zoloft

Avatar n tn I had mild anxiety last july 2008 and my family doctor prescribed me buspar. After two weeks I felt very blue, and was put on 50 mg of zoloft. The zoloft didn't seem to help too much. It somewhat cured the depression but not the anxiety. In september, bumped it up to 75(anxiety with school). After another month of feeling like a zombie, I met with a doctor and made the decision to wean off 25 mg every 3 weeks. Weaning off 75 to 50 was pretty easy, felt a little tired the first few days.
761614 tn?1234300320 Anti-depressants, such as Zoloft do not normally present significant withdrawal symptoms, but, as with any psychotropic medication it's best to seek to advice of your physician before discontinuing it. If you choose to do so without the advice of a doctor, it is best to slowly reuce your dosage each week until such time you are completely free from the drug. You may still experience strange sensations, such as dizziness, sweats, confusion, etc.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 20 year old female who was prescribed Zoloft (50mg) for anxiety and stress. It helped a little, but made me very tired during the day. I could not afford to go back to the doctor or get a refill of the Zoloft after a month. I stopped cold turkey and began experiencing rather severe symptoms: extreme fatigue even after sleeping over 10 hours a night, lightheadedness, mood swings, and stomach issues.
Avatar f tn here is my question 7 weeks ago he went cold turkey, no medicine or patches (I am sooo proud of him) all of the withdrawal symptoms are over except the fatigue. He is in pain but he is dealing with it but the lack of energy is driving him crazy...last week he went for blood work and got a clean bill of health. He is on a healthy diet and takes vitamins. When can he expect to have any kind of energy???? Is there anything he can take to boost his energy level??? Please help............
Avatar m tn I was on Zoloft 3 years ago for anxiety and panic. I did not notice any side effects (sexual, physical, emotional), I would dirnk alcohol ans everything seemed fine. I was on Zoloft for 2 years and it worked for me. I stopped about three years ago and i was fine until recently (anxiety, heart skipping beats, fatigue, etc.) as the stress in my life has picked up.
Avatar n tn Greetings all: **Possible Solution** I have been on 150 mg.'s of Effexor for about 6 mo.'s, and after realizing the withdrawal problems when missing a dose by a few hours, asked my prescribing physician to take me off of it. He immediately told me he would switch me to 50 mg. Zoloft for 10 days, and that would be it.
Avatar m tn You are suffering some pretty common withdrawal symptoms, and Zoloft is a drug that most people get some sort of withdrawal from when they stop taking it. For most it passes in a couple of weeks, but in your case, if it's happening as you taper off on such small amounts, you're getting a stronger effect, or at least that's how it sounds. So slow it down -- let your body get used to the lower dose before you drop down, and keep doing that as long as it takes.
Avatar m tn If you stop abruptly, you may experience a number of unpleasant withdrawal symptoms such as crying spells, extreme restlessness, dizziness, fatigue, and aches and pains. These withdrawal symptoms are known as antidepressant discontinuation syndrome. Antidepressant discontinuation syndrome is especially common when you stop taking Paxil or Zoloft. However, all medications for depression can cause withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar f tn hey again, as some already know, i was on zoloft 50 mg and klonopin .5 mg. i saw my doc last week and he took me off zoloft because he didnt think it was the right med for me. he also told me to only take .25 klonopin before bed. thats all. he prescribed me nortryptiline (sp?) but i have heart problems so i have to see my cardiologist before i can start taking it. so its been a week since being off of zoloft.
Avatar m tn Does Tramadol have as much SSRI in it as Zoloft? Does 100mg of Tramadol have as much SSRI as say 50mg of Zoloft? I was taking Tramadol while I was going through Zoloft withdrawal and I'm just wondering if I stunted the healing process of my Zoloft withdrawal. My body and mind still don't feel 100% since quitting Zoloft, but it's definitely getting better.
Avatar f tn I stopped taking Zoloft (100mg once a day) a few days ago. I had no withdrawal at all. This morning I woke up with the most intense vertigo and nausea I've ever had. I have a fear of throwing up so I'm on the verge of tears because I do not want to throw up. I tried eating and I even took 50mg of Zoloft to see if that was the problem. But it's been 3 hours and I'm sitting here at work wondering if I should go home or if it's even safe for me to drive.
Avatar f tn I am sick of being sick, i hv taken xanax before cause of my anxiety. I just wondering how long it's side effects will gone? I am really sick of it, Headache, Dizziness, Extreme Fatigue, Dry Mouth,Lost of concentration, Insomnia, And a lot more, Please Help!!
Avatar n tn I have been taking Zoloft (50 mg) for abt 3 yrs with good results. I wouldn't mind just staying on it long term but the crisis that precipitated it passed and I am in a good emotional setting now. I have often wondered if i would be able to tell the difference if I took it or not. I now know from reading on your forum that I should have tapered it, but I basicly quit abt 2 weeks ago. I really haven't had many problems.
Avatar m tn Today I took 1 Vicodin (Labeled M367, 10/325 norco) I took my last Zoloft 14 days ago. I was on 50 mg Zoloft. I took my first Zoloft pill on December 19, 2014 and I took my last Zoloft pill on January 19, 2015. I'm currently going through Zoloft withdrawals and have many of the typical Zoloft withdrawal symptoms. I was just wondering if taking a Vicodin will interfere with the recovery of my Zoloft withdrawal?
Avatar f tn I used the exact same tapering schedule to wean myself off Zoloft. In my case, I didn't experience any withdrawal effects.

Avatar n tn I had my baby almost three months ago and after two weeks, i started taking zoloft for post partum depression. As I have never been on any antidepressant before, i just thought i could quit taking it when i was ready. So i did. Well come to find out there are withdrawals and i should have weaned off but what was done, was done. i didn't want to start over again, just to wean off as it had been about 4 days.
Avatar n tn s the downside of moving immediately from one med to another without completing a nice slow taper from the one first. Especially Paxil, which is known to have a strong withdrawal. If the Zoloft proves problematic, taper it down slowly; don't do this again. And as far as I know, none of these is particularly great for a baby to be born taking. The other problem is that Zoloft hopefully will work, but there's no guarantee one ssri will substitute for another.
Avatar m tn //mentalhealthdaily.com/2014/04/15/zoloft-sertraline-withdrawal-symptoms-list-duration/ I was listening to a song I always use to think was very catchy before I took Zoloft, and now I can't figure out what was so appealing about the song. Do you think that's from lack of emotion combined with the other symptoms I've been having?
Avatar m tn Will my brain and body still heal from the Zoloft withdrawal even if I'm taking Vicodin? Will taking Vicodin interfere with the Zoloft withdrawal process?
Avatar f tn First of all, I don't think Zoloft is approved for use in pregnancy either. Second, how quickly did you quit using Paxil? Switching to Zoloft won't help the withdrawal from Paxil, which is one of the most difficult medications to stop taking particularly after that long. It needs to be done very slowly -- after that long it might take months and months.
Avatar f tn It most likely is withdrawal. It's dangerous to not take these types of medications as prescribed, and you never want to abruptly just stop these types of medications due to withdrawal. I assume and hope that the Zoloft was prescribed by a psychaitrist? If so he would be able to tell you how to taper off. Also, being without the medication may be causing you anxiety, which in turn will cause your current symptoms. All this may also mean you still need the medication.
