Zoloft side effects tremors

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft side effects tremors

zoloft

Avatar f tn It says on the list of side effects that tremors are a possible side effect. Do you plan to stay on Zoloft?
Avatar f tn Tremors, especially of the hands, is a very common, but benign, side effect for many of us while our bodies adapt to sertraline. Since we all react to medications differently, there is no way I can predict when this particular side effect will stop for you. Just know that it will.....probably in a few more weeks.
Avatar n tn The second episode does not sound like a seizure due to the fact that it did not cause a loss of consciousness despite causing tremors in all 4 limbs. Side effects of Zoloft can include somnolence and dizziness and may be the cause of your current complaints. It seems reasonable to discontinue the Zoloft and to try another antidepressant to see if the side effects disappear. If they do not disappear despite discontinuing the Zoloft, then it was not the cause of your fatigue and dizziness.
Avatar f tn i take prozac and had NO side effects at all and gradually felt better. i was told that Zoloft was the best and tried it after 2 months of night sweats, insomnia and speed like effects i did some research and was suprised at how much more side effects zoloft has compared to other ssris. get off of it now and try another ssri, dont put up with tremors and dont mask the side effects with xanax. that is my personal opinion.
Avatar n tn If you return to this forum I'm sure someone will know the side effects of Zoloft.. I do not... it's an antidepressant and this is probably why your friend feels better. I am replying to let you know that you can go to any pharmacy and ask to get a printout or package leaflet on any prescription drug. You will be able to read the possible side effects from common ones to very rare ones. I have done this on occasion even when I was not there to pick up a prescription. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn As lagoya mentioned, you may or may not experience side effects. If so, they range from annoying side effects to serious side effects. If it's helpful, when I took flecainide, I had weird dreams, shakiness, tremors and gastointestinal problems. It wasn't horrible, but it was bothersome enough that the doctor switched me to rhythmol. Great suggestion from lagoya on checing out the medication under "Health Topics" above.
Avatar n tn The reason for the change was because of severe side effects. Dizziness, tremors, jaw pain, loud ringing in ears, nausea were the main issues. Now being off the med for 13 days, and have been off of work since Feb. 3rd, I continue to have problems. I cannot drive or even ride in a vehicle without getting severe dizziness. This also happens when watching TV when fast movements cross the screen.
1258608 tn?1269552597 Does anyone else suffer from major hand tremors? I am on Geodon, Zoloft, Klonopan, Propranolol, & Lithium. My tremors have gotten worse and would like to know if anyone was able to overcome them. It really bothers me and is very noticeable.
Avatar f tn =) I experienced some side effects on Zoloft, mainly the tremor, but I felt a huge relief from depression & somewhat with my anxiety. I couldn't take the tremor. It was having an impact on my life, especially when trying to eat dinner. I know it wasn't just in my mind as it is stated under side effects "tremors". I plan to give the Lex 4 weeks. Congrats on getting back to your old/new self.
Avatar f tn m angry that he has put me on atenolol to counteract the side effects of bupropion. What is going to fight the side effects of the atenolol? I do not want to be a walking pharmacy.
Avatar f tn I was doing pretty good on 50 mg of zoloft after 6 weeks but had a small amount of anxiety still there. Doc said let's try 75 mg and if side effects too bad I can go back to 50 mg and he would expect some more improvement on the 50, plus I am using CBT. The side effects have been pretty crummy this second week - tremors on and off all day -- a very drugged drowsy feeling -- I felt lots better on the 50 mg.
Avatar f tn From what I have seen, this should be a fairly smooth transition, but is it possible that that these tremors are side effects from the withdrawal of Zoloft? If so, does anyone have any suggestions one how to minimize the tremors? They are driving me crazy! Any help you can offer is appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar f tn This is a side effect of some medications, so the best thing is to check with your psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn Some people have a rougher time adjusting to Zoloft than others, and what you describe is pretty par for the course as far as start up side effects go. The most common side effects are an increase in anxiety and feeling very "jittery", as if you drank WAY too much coffee. Other common side effects include GI disturbances (nausea, lack of appetite, heartburn), sleep disturbances, headaches.
Avatar f tn •drowsiness, dizziness, tired feeling; •mild nausea, stomach pain, upset stomach, constipation; •dry mouth; •changes in appetite or weight; •sleep problems (insomnia); or •decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm. This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects.
Avatar f tn It is very common and very normal to feel the way you do when first starting ANY anti-depressant. Often when we begin a new medication, it CAN make our symptoms a bit worse for awhile. Maybe a week or so, but then those feelings should begin to abate. I know it's difficult to keep taking a drug that is making the symptoms worse rather than better........it's the nature if that particular beast.
Avatar f tn When I came off of it, my doc put me on a taper as I came off of it. I did notice some side effects like naseau and increased anxiety, however I kept an open line of communication with the doc. I asked if it would be okay to go on a slower taper as I came off of it. He agreed and the slower taper seemed to help with the side effects. I am glad that you are seeing a psychiatrist to help you with your medication prescriptions and questions.
Avatar f tn In my experience, each time I increased Zoloft, the side effects also came back, but after a few weeks they subsided for me (except for tremors). The drugs work better the longer you take them, so when your side effects went away, the drug was still working. It usually takes six weeks at the proper dosage to get the full effect of the drug. If you can tough out the side effects, SSRI's can be a great thing.
Avatar f tn I've been taking zoloft for the past 5 years and had had no negative effects up until about a year ago when I started smoking marijuana. I started smoking marijuana in september last year about a month after i had increased my Zoloft dosage to 125 mg. Since that September I have been a regular marijuana user due to its positive effects. I've been suffering from tremors after I smoke since about December.
538894 tn?1630257531 Yes I have checked out the side effects and tremors, shivering, muscle stiffness or twitching is part of what it can do. I am just a little paranoid about how it's been happening for over 2 weeks! I see my psychiatrist on the 4th so I intend on mentioning it to him then. I have aleready contacted my family doctor and they said this can be a side effect that may or may not go away. The medicine seems to be helping me so I'd hate to stop taking it.
Avatar m tn I have been on zoloft for two weeks and the side effects are still pretty bad, without any benefits (it seems like it has been two years!). (I have tried lexapro, paxil, and celexa, but zoloft was the first AD I have taken and from my first experience seemed to produce the least side effects for me (although this time seems bad). I know it takes awhile for SSRI's to get working and initial side effects are common. I started taking 25mgs for a week and have been on 50mgs for a week.
Avatar f tn I had terrible side effects from Zoloft not pregnant. I would be terrified to take while I was pregnant. It has to be very unsafe for baby. Hope you feel better.
1100999 tn?1257701380 ive been on zoloft for 2 days n i want to stop it... since its only been 2 days would it be safe to just stop taking it, i just cant handle the side effects..
1935826 tn?1323883580 when I started 100mg of Zoloft I had what I think were tremors. My hands were shaky and my voice was shaky. It went away after awhile.I think it may be side effects of the medicine.Does the Ativan help?
