Zoloft numb

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft numb

zoloft

Does anyone have experience with Zoloft? I've tried Celexa, Lexapro- but had significant memory impairment on both. I was on Effexor (75mg) for almost a year, but was too emotionally numb to keep living like that. I had minimal other side effects from the effexor, but it just worked too well! Couldn't have cried if I wanted to. I've read that Zoloft is approved for depression, anxiety, and mild associated OCD- all issues for me.
The sex stuff took about 5 weeks to hit me on the prohizzle then went away quickly, after that it seemed to enhance sex. the zoloft had the numb noodle thing going from about day 3 with no end in sight. i am no Dr. but that is my advice. i am very glad to be back on prozac and sleeping again, eating again and you know whating again.
by this point, you're probably thinking im being self-centered or selfish but all this, and more, is the absolute truth. anyway, i recently went to a psychiatrist and she prescribed 50mg of Zoloft. i was very keen to start the medication because i didnt wanna feel depressed anymore and i really thought it would work. the zoloft had its ups and downs. the side effects were kind of scary at first. a couple hours after i took the pill, my hands and legs started shaking alot.
if you can explain, i know it's probably difficult, how do you feel now after the Zoloft working? i sometimes think i feel numb to all emotions and then the next day im a crying mess. im going through a break up and it has really triggered my depression. will i feel happy all of the time once it kicks in? i would like to be able to live my life without feeling anxious and sad all of the time.
hi, i've recently been diagnosed with mixed anxiety/depression, and the zoloft/klonopin combo works for me. i take 2x50mg Zoloft per day, and 1mg Klonopin. Talk to your doctor, and see what he/she has to say about your case. Generally, SSRIs are tricky. For eg., I tried Mirtazipine, Citalopram, Effexor before I found that Zoloft suits me! Best of luck. Oh, and try some CBT as well, it helps :-) take care, now!
I also feel emotionally numb. Not sure if it is from the Zoloft increase 50mg to 100mg. I have an anxiety disorder-OCD. I really would like to try natural methods. Complementary/Alternative medicine.
About a week ago, I had a scheduled appointment with my psychiatrist and I was informed that I owed her some money and until I settled the outstanding bill, she would not see me so I was not able to get my Zoloft prescription renwed. Here's my second issue - Zoloft withdrawl.
I have stopped taking my zoloft because I am nursing and concerned about side effects. I am having terrible headaches, tiredness and nausea. Has anyone else experienced these withdrawals? How long do they last?
After two weeks I felt very blue, and was put on 50 mg of zoloft. The zoloft didn't seem to help too much. It somewhat cured the depression but not the anxiety. In september, bumped it up to 75(anxiety with school). After another month of feeling like a zombie, I met with a doctor and made the decision to wean off 25 mg every 3 weeks. Weaning off 75 to 50 was pretty easy, felt a little tired the first few days. When weaning to 25, I felt absolutely PHENOMENAL for 2 weeks on 25 mgs.
Hello and welcome to the forum, Did the Zoloft come first, then the effexor, back to the Zoloft. I am having a hard time understanding what is going on. When did you stop the effexor, when did you start the Zoloft back and how long did you take it before feeling the side effects you described.
Well after weeks of feeling like an emotional zombie I've decided to try and quit Zoloft. Hopefully permanently. It has definitely helped my anxiety but at the cost of being emotionless. For those that won't puke its made sex or anything for that matter nearly impossible. Well not impossible just not fun. Very odd!! I watched my wife cry during an argument and literally felt no emotions. I hope it's the Zoloft. Luckily for me I'm on a low dose and I'm weaning down. Let's hope for the best.
For a while i was out of control, having emotional outbursts left and right so my doctor prescribed me a low dose of Zoloft to help stabilize them. The first week i felt great and most days i still do but i have noticed that i seem emotion-less now! I don't feel much anymore, i don't really have any feeling about anything! Its like im numb inside and can be scary sometimes. Is it getting worse, changing; or is it how im supposed to feel?
Mr dr gave me 100 mg Zoloft a few months ago. I have only bn taking 50mg of it. It doesn't help. Makes me feel awful. My lips and tongue are numb ect.. i started a week ago cutting the 50mg in half. Now i have stopped taking it completly. I feel ok but still the problems with my lips and tongue. Will i be ok cutting this med off completly?
I am a 38 year old female .I have been on Zoloft for around 11 years, 100 mg per day along with Bupropion HCl 75 mg twice daily. I recently started having brain zaps every night ,where as in the past they only occured a couple of times a month, usually when I missed a dose. The feeling I get is like a sensation going from one side of my brain to the other , and somewhat a numbness. I am under no more stress than before and nothing has changed in my life.
I was on zoloft off and on for about 2 years and I was numb in every aspect. In May of this year I came across this natural way of healing your self I've been taking these supplements since then and I am feeling back to my normal self and it is stuff that is good for me and stuff that is not harming my liver or anything else. check out the web site. this is what I take to replace zoloft. Mood Elevator, Nutra Calm, Stress J & Adrenal Support cost is about $60.
I have been taking 100mg of Zoloft for 8 years to treat my diagnosis of clinical depression. It has been a lifesaver, but 3 months ago I started getting easliy irritated, negative, gained 10 lbs, sad, tired, and finally numb. Funny thing is I didn't even know it until my family started asking "what's wrong with you?" I am scared. I don't want to go back to feeling like I did before. I finally went to the Dr. and he put me on 150mg of Welbutrin XL and backed off my Zoloft to 50mg.
A combination of medications and psychotherapy seem to be most effective. SSRI (Serotonin Specific Reuptake Inhibitors) such as Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Celexa are the drugs of choice. Other medications like tricyclic antidepressants and MAOI's are proven to be effective as well. You may want to re-consult your treating physician for an increase or change in medication as well as undergoing psychotherapy sessions to help you deal with your past and present issues.
it didn't, and i also felt more depressed and anxious on it than i did on zoloft, so last week i decided to stop wellbutrin and switch back to zoloft. all last week, i took 150mg wellbutrin instead of 300mg and had no withdrawal symptoms. today, i didn't take any wellbutrin and took my first zoloft (100mg) since last month at around 11. a few hours ago, at around 1:30 or 2, i started feeling terrible in all ways possible. its hard to explain, but i'll try.
Hello everyone, Just started Zoloft 2 days ago and last night at 3am woke up w/ tingling/burning/numbness in my left arm. Needless to say having anxiety already this made me want to freak out. Anyways I calmed myself down as no other symptoms but here it is at 6:45 and I still have arm numbness/tingling/burning on my left arm from shoulder down to my fingers. Is this a common symptom? Could I just have pinched a nerve or slept on it wrong? Any advice would help.
After that, I was sent to the mental clinic for a week and came home. They gave me Zoloft for SAD; the stuff did nothing to help me and after reading the long-term side effects, I'm glad I stopped. With my family's strong urging (okay, more like force) I went to a psychiatrist- it did help with my depression and SAD. Now I can actually walk around in public on my own without that horrible panicky feeling, even able to hold a conversation.
I do have 4 boys, all healthy but was hoping for one more. i was wondering if any of you have taken Zoloft to get over the hump of depression that follows the loss. After the last on in Sept, I did see a counselor and felt pretty good by about 3 mos. The 2 others, I just did the healing work on my own. FOr some reason, this seems unbearable and I am having a hard time. I am impatient to feel myself again. I hate drugs, but wondering if I should do Zoloft for a short term.
Hello, I am prescribed with Zoloft and Xanax xr due to my anxiety and panic attacks. I am taking Zoloft 50mg in the mornings for 9 days and yesterday I took extra 50mg afternoon (as my doctor prescribed) and after 2-3 hours I felt my regular symptoms (heartbeat increases and my left arm and left feels like there are ants walking on it) and I took 0,5mg Xanax immediately. Now, I am very scared to increase the dosage.
It is true that it will take time to kick in fully. In my experience that time frame was less than the Dr said. I have just STOPPED taking ZOLOFT as of a few days ago. WHY? Insomnia, stiff kneck, itchy eyes, numb noodle, agitation I could go on. I had only been on 1 other med, Prozac and for some reason changed. I had only taken Prozac for about 3 or 4 months and it worked GREAT. I had some trauma in my life, went into a 3 week panic attack and stopped the Prozac for some reason.
I saw my doctor on Saturday because I felt that Lexapro wasn't working for me anymore and I was starting to have panic attacks again. She switched me to 50mg of Zoloft and .25 mg of Xanax, 1/2 pill in the morning and afternoon and one full pill at night. This is my first experience with Xanax by the way. Anyway, I began the therapy on Sunday. Well yesterday evening I started feeling heart palpitations, like irregular heartbeats.
Since I couldnt avoid work, I talked to my doctor who said to get back on Zoloft (50 mg this time). As expected, when I got back on Zoloft the panic/anxiety subsided during those commuting conditions (but never completely went away - just more under control). I never had problems while on it. No side effects whatsoever. And while I was on it I never felt "numb" or "emotionless" like people have described. I guess just better in control of my emotions and very even keel.
After many months of no improvement with my anxiety on zoloft [100mgs] , I decided it was not worth taking the zoloft which gave me terrible sexual side effects and honestly made me feel next to nothing about everything. Along with the lack of improvement to my anxiety it actually made me WORSE. I started having panic attacks nearly everyday. These were so bad I have 3 ER visits only to be given ativan for the panic.
Although my anxiety has not come back, I can't help but to think - what if its something else and not the Zoloft withdrawal. Anyone had experience coming off of Zoloft? Or had the funny head feelings that I mentioned above? Any comments would be appreciated.
I've noticed around 8pm and after every night I would start to feel like my old self. Even when first getting up in the morning. I've been taking my Zoloft first thing in the morning. By an hour or two after taking it I would get anxious then followed by the weird flat feelings. This would generally not fade until about 8 at night. Then I would slowly feel myself again. Maybe I'll go back on it but I feel like I need to stop and see if that's the root of my numbness.
He was discharged still completely numb in left leg and some of left side still. Had been taking Zoloft about a month with increase to 100 mg. The hospital is trying to say it's stress related!! My husband is still not well, and neurologist said "?" as to what caused this! I kept saying I thought it had to do with the meds. He'd never.
I just don't know what to do anymore! My doctor has mentioned Zoloft to me and said that it isn't sedating like Paxil and maybe with the help of Wellbutrin I can keep my sex drive. I've also heard that Prozac might be a good option because it isn't sedating. Can anyone give me any advise on these two medications before I call my doctor and accept one of them witch will most likely be Zoloft since that's the one that she's been leading towards.
