Zoloft jittery

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft jittery

zoloft

Well both Prozac and Zoloft take weeks to kick in fully. What was your side effect on Prozac?
I started zoloft two anda half weeks ago. I started to feel ok for one or two days but I feel like I crashed. Feel severely fatigued. If zoloft works won't I feel better on a consistent basis or is that how it kicks in, you feel ok and then feel bad. The day that I felt the best I couldn't get to sleep that night that triggered I think the fatigue. How will I know if it is working?
I was just wondering if it's normal with the first couple of days of use of Zoloft if it's common for it to make you a little more anxious and if so how long before it subsides?
I have been on zoloft for two weeks and it hasn't done anything for me except make me sexually dysfunctional and I can't bet back to sleep in the mornings. Any adice out there. Is prozac better with the sexual side effects and with the depression. If so maybe I should switch.
Also, my anxiety over taking the zoloft (or the zoloft itself) has seemed to negate any benefit I was getting from the klonopin. Now, I am only taking 0.25 mg klonopin at a time. Is this dose enough to have an impact on anxiety? My psych says he wants me calmed way down, even if that means taking an additional .25 mg of klon a day. the goal is to get me to Zoloft only, with no need for mirtazapine or klonopin at all.
since I have been taking zoloft (four months). I consulted my prescribing dr. and my primary physician both claim that the zoloft should be weight neutral and that there is another cause for the weight loss...which has me more worried. I am the skinniest I have been since jr. high. Most of my clothes hang on me and people ask me what is wrong...I look sick, etc. I have had no other changes to my diet or exercise plan. The weight seems to be dropping faster than it did at first. Any insight?
It is likely too soon for the zoloft side effects to occur. Zoloft is a med taken long term (likely minimum 6 months use). Anxiety is unpredictable, so it can be a number of factors that triggered you this morning. Even thinking about your anxiety can make you more worried, so it can be a difficult problem to deal with. Is this your first anti-anx or anti-dep med? How old are you?
I was scripted for 25 mg Zoloft with 1/2 tablet first day then whole tablet there after. I did that and my chest pains went thru the roof along with the anxiety and jittery. I have a script for .5 mg Ativan that I half and take. Called psychiatrist and said to go back down to half (12.5) to see if it helps. I take it in the morning as when I took it at night I didn't sleep for 2 days. I have to be at work at 6 am so I take Zoloft 5am.
Hi, My psychiatrist prescribed me Zoloft for anxiety. I'm supposed to take 25 mg for the first four days, then increase to 50mg. I started it 3 days ago. The first day I felt really nauseous and yesterday and today I've been feeling more anxious than usual. Is this normal when starting?
I actually prefer Zoloft, but for me, the first couple of weeks I experienced an actual increase in anxiety and felt really jittery. Remember, SSRIs like Zoloft can take a good couple of weeks before you start to feel the benefit of them. As far as the Ativan, in my opinion, many doctors will prescribe a benzo like this especially when starting a med like Zoloft.
found out i have high blood pressure along with severe depression and G.A.D.He prescribed me a bp med and zoloft.Anyone take zoloft?if so did it help?My doc says it has a calming effect.I heard from someone else it has a speedy effect.if so i'm not taking it.I could really use some input before i waste my money to pick up my perscription.Thanx .................
I am on my 4th day of Zoloft. I am jittery and more anxious than usual. Will this go away? How long before I can benefit from this drug?
Hello !!! I Have recently started taking Zoloft for social anxiety that I cannot seem to get ride of. I am going on day 3 and was prescribed 50mg but was suggested to break that in half to equal 25mg to allow my body to get used to it before I up my dose. Which I will stay on 25mg for 3 weeks and then bump up to 50mg. From what It seems people bump up to fast and their bodys freak out. So far I have not had any side effects other then being a little sleepy.
Hello and welcome to the forum, Did the Zoloft come first, then the effexor, back to the Zoloft. I am having a hard time understanding what is going on. When did you stop the effexor, when did you start the Zoloft back and how long did you take it before feeling the side effects you described.
You mentioned you are not taking Zoloft when they suggested you take it, however I am not sure what your go forward plan is. Are you taking the traz? Are you planning to switch Zol to their times?
This is going to be kind of stupid to ask because I'm sure nearly all of you have been prescribed zoloft for depression, if you've been prescribed it before... but how did zoloft work for your anxiety? They prescribed me some during my hospital stay for my anxiety. I'm already less jittery but feeling anxious a bit still but I know that will take a week or so to take full effect.
One person may see great results with one med, and others may find that the other is effective. It's very much a trial and error kind of process. I WILL tell you that both Zoloft and Lexapro are very good choices for a medication to start with, to try for anxiety treatment. Zoloft remains the most commonly prescribed antidepressant for anxiety, and Lexapro is probably a close second. I personally have been on both meds, at different times, and both were very successful for me.
I felt a little depressed with the anxiety and he started me on Zoloft at the beginning of November. I have been having the jittery caffeine feeling with this med consistently having to take klonopin ..25mg in the am with the dose as it seems to be works about 5 hours post dose. These symptoms did get somewhat better over time but I have tried to stop the klonopin twice and the jittery feeling returns.
I've been on 50mg of zoloft for about 7ish months now. At first I felt the same way that youre explaining. I was super jittery and even had some kinda twitch in my toes. My side effects went away about a month after being on the pill. I still get a bit of anxiety but mostly when I havent taken my pill at the same time everyday. Other than that 50mg has done wonders for my anxiety. Hang in there.
I would like to know if I have taken Zoloft for about two weeks, one a 25 mg and now for four days 50 mg. can I stop and how do you di o it and cut it back. My doctor seems to thing I have a anxiety disorder because I worry about my health sometimes. I have had a few panic attacks over the year and became afraid of them. He thought I might try this drug. I really don't like medicines and I am just afraid of them and the side effects. Can you advise what to do.
I have a few friends who have taken phentermine and they said it was excellent and they look great too. I want to try it, to help speed things along but the thing is i take zoloft for an anxiety disorder. Im not sure if this will react badly or if it will make my anxiety flare up? can anyone advise if it will be okay? or if my doc will even prescribe it to me?
i have been taking zoloft for 3 weeks now I suffer from severe anxiety i also take Xanax I find myself feeling worse than before at times with little breaks of feeling better Than Xanax helps but i am wondering of I should give it more time to build up in my system I am taking 50mg a day.
There is no normal. There is only what you feel, as we all have different responses.
Hi - I am on Zoloft day 6 and I feel like I can't sit still and I am climbing out of my skin - is this an adjustment phase?
hey all, here i am at 12:30 wide awake. i have been taking zoloft for about 8 days. i seem to be med sensitive. i feel like i am on speed all the time. i have almost too much energy; all day and unfortunately at night. i have cut back to .25 mgs and started yesterday taking it in the morning so maybe i should just wait and see. i was on prozac 20 mgs daily and did not have this problem. i recently did 2 week long ward stays and i have been unable to sleep since.
I called my doctor yesterday and told her that the side affects of the Zoloft were really bothering me. The heartburn, the feeling jittery, not being hungry and I asked her if I could go off of it for a day or two to see if the heartburn would go away. She said I could. I have only been on it for a week, but they are so bad. I am still on the Xanax too.
The doc put me on Zoloft a week ago for my IBS, depression and anxiety and as of today (6 days into it) i've started to become very anxious and jittery. I was just wondering if this is normal or anyone else has experienced this? I'm 20 years old and am used to being very happy and carefree before I got the IBS which induced the depression and anxiety which is a vicious cycle.
It is true that it will take time to kick in fully. In my experience that time frame was less than the Dr said. I have just STOPPED taking ZOLOFT as of a few days ago. WHY? Insomnia, stiff kneck, itchy eyes, numb noodle, agitation I could go on. I had only been on 1 other med, Prozac and for some reason changed. I had only taken Prozac for about 3 or 4 months and it worked GREAT. I had some trauma in my life, went into a 3 week panic attack and stopped the Prozac for some reason.
Hi. I have suffered from chronic anxiety for about 5 years. I am 30 years old. 3 years ago I started having crippling panic attacks and thought I was having a heart attack. I starting also have pvcs that seemed to persist even until this day. Back then my doctor had me take neurontin and i walked up to 3200 mg and xanax as needed. It did work for me. However, I started to taper off because my new doctor told me that i was taking too much and i needed to be on an ssri.
