zoloft

511034 tn?1327802985 I generally suffer from stiff neck and shoulder muscles and tension in the muscles in my temples and jaw. I can quite literally feel these sore muscles tensed. In addition, these problems have been coupled with problems in reading comprehension and memory/recall, especially when the stiffness/soreness flares up. When these problems first started, I tried both getting help from both my primary care phy. and a neurologist specialist. After a CT scan, EEG, and blood tests, nothing has turned up.
17020225 tn?1455749597 So the jaw clenching hasn't stopped. I went back to the doctor after a month on celexa for a follow up. I told them about the clenching, and they seemed surprised. Said they haven't heard of that side effect before. Which is the same thing my pharmacist said. I thought it was odd because antidepressants are listed as a cause for bruxism. But any way they decided to have me try Zoloft now. So hopefully that'll work for the anxiety and stop the jaw clenching.
Avatar n tn Are you grinding your teeth at night? That may be a cause of all the tension in your jaw and head. Take a deep breath and go see a doctor - maybe a neurologist or a spine/sport specialist will be helpful. You may need to do some work on relaxing yourself, if the source is tension. Have you ever had migranes?
2071688 tn?1337430558 feels like my throat is closing or im going to faint or have a heart attack, dizzy, nausea, jaw tension is a common symptom for anxiety! Avatar f tn I am prescribed Fioricet (50/325/40) for tension headaches. I am taking 6 a day (2 every 4 to 6 hours) and was wondering if taking this medication that frequently can lead to physical dependence. I am taking it as prescribed and have constant headaches (I have had jaw reconstruction surgery, have extensive nerve damage and also suffer from bruxism...) but am scared to become physically addicted to the medication.
Avatar m tn Seems to move around but mostly in lower right jaw where I have 2 crowns. Disorientation/dizziness/jaw discomfort/temple area tension come out of the blue. Better than worse. I sleep great, eat well, plenty of exercise, outdoor time. I read a couple of posts which make me think there is no answer, but I am wondering about tension/stress/anxiety. Stress levels are way down/ the estate work is done now and I have a great life for the most part.
Avatar f tn and I decided to try an extremely low dose of zoloft again but 2 days into it, started jaw clenching again. Calling Dr. tomorrow. So sad.
Avatar f tn I found out when my ears kept feeling stuffed and I finally saw an ENT who told me it was from jaw clenching. So who knows what Zoloft can do to any particular person? On the other hand, after just three days, it isn't causing it anymore, and if you still have it, it's more likely your anxiety is holding on to it -- conditioned thinking is what plagues us anxiety sufferers. Work on this with your CBT person and see if it helps.
Avatar f tn My doctor recenlty made a change and brought me down to 7.5mg due to fatigue and jaw clenching. He also added a small dose on kolonopin .25mg in the evening to assist with the jaw clenching. I was doing o.k until last week when I started to feel very blue and having some crying spells. On Sunday night I then started having a bit of increased anxiety and a couple of small panic attacks.
1556337 tn?1341708611 tension can cause the jaw thing, i get sinus pressure above my jaw and tension seems to worsen it. Anxiety can cause high awareness of every little feeling and we catastrophise it into something scary. Try letting it just be what it is until you have your appt and can get some medical attention. Can you do meditation and relaxation to sleep?

Avatar m tn I mentioned about switching from Effexor Xr 225mg (which on my own I lowered to 150mg) He said that Effexor XR affects two different areas of the body whereas Zoloft only affects one area. Now he mentioned NOTHING about keep taking the Effexor Xr in lower does while I make hte switch to Zoloft. Am I supposed to just switch right over to Zoloft and discontinue the Effexor Xr??
538894 tn?1630257531 I will often get this pressure in my head and get slightly dizzy, and confused. Could this be a Migraine? My current Meds are Zoloft 50mg. and Xanax .50mg 3 times a day as needed.
Avatar n tn t really have the dizziness anymore, and my headaches are located only in my temples, on the muscle that pops out when i move my jaw. I also have pretty bad jaw pain, and pain around my ears and down the sides of my face. My jaw has been clicking when i open it wide and to chew, and my ears remain painful to the touch. I also have pain in my neck, on the sides and in the back, the muscles feel very hard, and it gets worse when I am nervous.
Avatar f tn Hi lily0078, Have you seen a doctor about this headache yet? If a headache does not go away with home treatment after that much time has passed, it is important to see a doctor in order to get a proper diagnosis. There are two types of headaches: primary headaches and secondary headaches. A primary headaches is not caused by a separate disease, illness or an injury. Examples of primary headaches include: migraines and tension headaches.
Avatar m tn TMJ disorders — a type of temporomandibular disorder or TMD — can cause pain in your jaw joint and in the muscles that control jaw movement and this can radiate to parts of your head. If it continues, then maybe a trip to your dentist might be of some help.
Avatar n tn oh wait I thought I was the only one who experienced the jaw pain!!!! but I only recently experienced the jaw pain when coming off totally from Zoloft...chest pain is a serious thing...but I am only getting the heavy chest feeling and I know it is the withdrawal.
Avatar n tn headache especially in the morning, jaw joint clicking or jaw locking; Symptoms may be worse during certain everyday activities such as chewing or yawning, and you may find they are worse if you are stressed. I hope this helps. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Tenderness on your scalp, neck and shoulder muscles Difficulty sleeping (insomnia) Fatigue Irritability Loss of appetite Difficulty concentrating Unlike some forms of migraine, tension headache usually isn't associated with visual disturbances (blind spots or flashing lights), nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, weakness or numbness on one side of the body, or slurred speech. 305180 tn?1279716747 My doc prescribed me Zoloft yesterday to help with anxiety because I cant seem to handle things anymore. My emotions are completely out of whack, I cry very easily, and when I get mad I can literally feel the rage inside of me ready to explode. Has anyone else taken Zoloft while pregnant. My doc says its perfectly safe and wont harm the baby, but I still question it, even though I trust my doc. What do you think?
Avatar n tn My doctor prescribed Nortriptyline 10mg at night for tension headaches that have lasted weeks at a time. I am already taking 200 mg of Zoloft in am. Is there any danger and what do I look for if I start having a reaction with the 2 meds.
451674 tn?1205658922 She said I could have surgery, where they would break my jaw and realign it. Whatever!! No one is breaking my jaw. I just live with it unfortunatly.
Avatar f tn Hi, How are you? Can you elaborate/describe your headache? Was there any trauma to your head or neck? Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Headaches presents with muscle-contraction type of pain, sometimes accompanied by a painful "clicking" sound on opening the jaw. This can also be an Infrequent cause of headache and may be due to malocclusion (poor bite), stress, and jaw clenching. Try to relax, use Ice packs, pain relievers and identify possible sources of headache triggers.
17651997 tn?1458755477 Eating especially causes him discomfort, and at night he said laying on his jaw actually eases the tension. How long does jaw pain usually last...if a normal hit has occurred. Or, should I be more concerned in general?
Avatar n tn It did turn out to be tension in my jaw! The tension is radiating from my shoulders and neck to the jaw and it is causing havoc! You would not believe the crazy symptoms that can result from jaw problems. Do you have a nightguard? A nightguard can do wonders. You would be amazed! I certainly was. Oh, and try something like Sensodyne and see if that makes any difference. That stuff will have a numbing effect.
Avatar f tn Moved to the shoulder, then settled in the chest and both jaw joints. Went to the ER, xray, ekg, and blood all came back fine. Doctor diagnosed with stress/anxiety, which I think is plausible. Chest and jaw muscles are extremely tense and painful, and I am stuck in bed because the pain gets worse when moving. Any idea how long this can last, and what can be done about it in the short term to relieve pain?
