Avatar n tn I guess in your situation, what ever works. I have never know there to be a connection either. But again in your case you have proved it works for you..
1139187 tn?1355706647 Bruce, I seem to recall you have Hashi's, is that right? I also have had a recurrence of tinnitus since the ratio of my meds was changed and labs destabilized. I had been through a lot of neuro-ENT tests before going on thyroid meds...they said I had neuro-ENT reasons for having the ringing, including a balance disorder, yet when my thyroid meds were working it stopped bothering me, and I could always balance on one leg ?? Go figure. Now I am destabilized and it's baaaaaack.
Avatar f tn I don't think that Zoloft can cause this and you were only on it for three days, so you really should not have any withdrawal effects. Have you ever had this before? I sometimes have sinus infections and my ears sometimes ring....keep us posted!
Avatar f tn Hello, I have been on Zoloft for 21 days. I am noticing some serious ringing and a plugged feeling in my ears...... Is this the meds or do I need to go have my ears checked out. The other bothersome side effect is I don't sleep well - I'm hoping this is temporary? Has anyone had a similar experience with Zoloft?
Avatar m tn I have been taking zoloft 50mg in the mornings for over a month now. I get a headache every night around 5pm and then I notice my ears ringing. What is going on. I didnt use to get the headaches or the ear ringing.
Avatar f tn I am 75 years old and have worn hearing aids for about 10 years, and they have been of no help for the tinnitus. I have had many ear infections throughout my life, and my 46 year old son is already wearing them. I have taken 100 mg of Zoloft for about 15 years and 1 mg of lorazapam at night for about 15 years. I had a high-stress job until I retired 11 years ago, and the lorazapam literally saved my sanity, and I have not needed to increase the dosage so I continue to take it.

Avatar m tn 15 lbs in 5 weeks. Trying Zoloft with xanx at nite to try and sleep. Took Mobic for years for back pain/arthritis but discontinued before injection. Chronic sinus infections for years. Common antibiotic resistant. Rocephin seems to work. ENT exam 3 weeks ago unconclusive. Sinus clear, normal function of ear drums. Neurologist labeled TIA initially but continues to investigate with CTA.
Avatar f tn I had MVD of the 7/8th cranial never for tinnitus. I had vascular loop that the surgeon pulled out and placed a teflon sponge in place. I still have tinnitus and it's been two weeks. I had two days of quiet around day 4-5 post surgery. Does this mean that it's back for good? or could it get better with time. I assumed that if it was going to work it would have worked immediately. do you know?

Avatar f tn I think I might just lose my mind. Just over 5 weeks ago I had a terrible migraine, complete with dizziness, nausea, vertigo, tinnitus, and sensitive hearing. Everything went away except the tinnitus and sensitivity to sound. The ringing is a high pitched loud constant shriek in my head. It never ever stops. It occassionally keeps me awake at night. Sometimes there is an additional tone in either ear, but mainly it is in the middle of my head.
479581 tn?1317757488 I have had tinnitus 24/7 for the past 2 years. The noise is continuous and doesn't pulsate. It seems louder in my left ear. My ENT wants to discuss a neuromonic device at my next appointment. I had an MRI which ruled out a tumor as a cause of the tinnitus. My audiology tests revealed a slight sensory neural hearing loss in my left ear. What is your opinion of using the neuromonic device for treating tinnitus?

Avatar f tn Has anyone tried this technology yet? I was hit with Sudden Hearing Loss (Left ear) Nov.2012. After a 30 day prednisone treatment (horrible experience), I recovered some hearing with terrible tinnitus. I did some research and found this new technology. I visited an audiologist who introduced this to me and I'm trying it out for the tinnitus. The Neuromonics device looks like an I-pod and plays great classical and new age "spa music" that is adjusted to the pitch of your tinnitus.
Avatar m tn I developed a very mild form of tinnitus recently. I have suffered from migraines with aura for over 20 years. Iam a 43 year old male. These migraine auras were bad and quire prolific up until my mid 30s then tapered off to where I would get two or three a year. U til this year wher I have had 6 already with two in three days. I know they are harmless but at the same time they are quite harrowing. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by these even though my neurologist reassure me.

5255779 tn?1414034937 There have been commercials for zoloft causing birth defects. I stopped taking mine immediately when me and my boyfriend decided to try for a baby. Now im 20 weeks and 2 days.
Avatar m tn This is going to be kind of stupid to ask because I'm sure nearly all of you have been prescribed zoloft for depression, if you've been prescribed it before... but how did zoloft work for your anxiety? They prescribed me some during my hospital stay for my anxiety. I'm already less jittery but feeling anxious a bit still but I know that will take a week or so to take full effect.
Avatar f tn I have had the other symptoms on and off for a few years now (mostly off, fortunately), but the ear ringing is new since I stopped taking the SSRI Zoloft for anxiety (I was only on it for about a month before tapering off). Also, my back, around my shoulders, hurt and tingle on occasion as well, and I just have a general feeling of unwellness. As some background, I do have high blood pressure, controlled by taking Toprol-XL, a beta blocker. I also have a history of anxiety.
Avatar f tn I was taking pristiqe for depression and anxiety I'm 6 wks today and as soon as I found out I was pregnant the Dr. Made me switch over to Zoloft for depression. I've heard nothing but horrible things about Zoloft. Is there anyone that has takin it during their pregnancy? What is your opinion and experience?
Avatar n tn My daughter (15 years old) has been recently prescribed 50mg Zoloft for mild depression. I am very scared that this is not the right way to deal with the problems that she has and in particular scared of side effects and withdrawal dramas eventually. Do you have any suggestions how I could help her deal with depression without the medication and is Zoloft very dangerous to start with?
997730 tn?1254278376 I have had tinnitus for over 20 yrs .Did Tx and still have it.Like Pilgrim was told you learn to live with it.No treatment or cure.
Avatar f tn The primary doctor said i have virual virus do to allergies, so i saw my doctor who precribed me the Zoloft he said not take zoloft for two weeks until i get better from this virual virus then try the zoloft again if you have reaction to it stop the zoloft then wait a week and try different medicine called citalpram 20mm. i am so sacred to taking any medicine because i am so sentitive to medicine anyway.
Avatar f tn I am told anxiety does not cause Tinnitus (the ear rining) but it can exasperate it ... many people have tinnitus their whole lives and don't really notice it....
Avatar f tn months in one ear and a speach therapist at my school recommended I check it out. ANYWAY, the good news for you is that he told me bilateral tinnitus like yours possibly is a better prognosis. Also he mentioned the POSSIBLE causes he is looking for: tumor (small possibility), fluid in inner ear, and since I just found out I have an autoimmune arthritis that could be a possibility too. I will get the disk from the imaging center and take it back to him at my next appt.
