Approximately 20 percent of men have premature ejaculation. There can be non-drug therapy involving the "pause and squeeze" technique, but this has variable success. Various types of antidepressants have been used - including Zoloft and Paxil. Other studies have shown that clomipramine may be more useful than the SSRIs (i.e. Zoloft and Paxil listed above). Another medicine to consider would be Trazodone, which has been used in some smaller studies.
(Urinalysis came back clean.) I started taking Zoloft a few years ago and for about 2 years it took a very long time to reach an ejaculation. But now however its the complete opposite, I can only go for 3-5 minutes at times. I still have the urination problem and Im getting the feeling of having a swollen prostate. Im clueless at what do to.
I am 27, and have always suffered from premature ejaculation. I tried Fluoxetine in the past and found it useless, I am currently on 100mg sertraline daily. After 3-4 months on sertraline I've noticed a slight improvement that is still hit and miss, have tried all sorts of "start-stop" exercises and kegel exercises for nearly a year. I also have occasional anxiety-related ED problems which I take Levitra for. What is my next step?
Curleygirl7 is correct the medicine is an anti-anxiety med but one side effect is prolonged ejaculation. I know from experience. I have taken Zoloft for many years for anxiety. As long as I stay at 50 mg per day all is good (not much effect on my sex drive, ejac, etc.) If I up it to 100 mg which I have tried in the past during stressful times I can have sex literally as long as I want to and sometimes not get to the point of ejac.

And yes SSRI's can affect libido, but again that's the whole point, it makes ejaculation more difficult, but for someone who can last two or three strokes and needs help, it's a gift. The squeeze method to strengthen sphincter/pelvic muscles as mentioned earlier is also good.

Every man is born with premature ejaculation, so having it is perfectly normal to start with. Controlling ejaculation is something you have to learn just as you had to learn to control your bladder as a child. We get taught to control our bladders but no one teaches us how to control ejaculation. The American Academy of Family Physicians confirms that: Behavioral methods are helpful for more than 95 percent of men who have premature ejaculation.

He doesn't seem to understand the weak erections and premature ejaculation problems, especially when I tell him I had neither on Zoloft all those years. Needless to say this has been hell on my relationship, going from a healthy sex drive to having little desire and wondering if I'll ever be normal again. Did my sex drive shut down for good after I came off Zoloft after ten years? How can I get it back, as it doesn't seem to be there whether I am on or off an SSRI?

If you are suffering from premature ejaculation there are techniques to follow or you could ask your doctor about the use of Zoloft.
These injections basically provide an erection, even after ejaculation. So that the man can get use to the feeling of being hard for prolonged period of time..etc..etc..what is suppose to happen is that after six months of treatment, one gradually weens themselves off and your PE is at a normal level if not controlled. I don't expect miracles, I didn't expect him to go and do this. Though I am grateful, we've only had sex with the injections once! That was two months ago.

This is a common (and extremely frustrating) side effect of SSRI antidepressants. I'm on Lexapro, and I experience the same thing. Unfortunately there is not a whole lot that can be done about it. However, you should ask your doctor (hopefully a psychiatrist) about adding a low dose of Wellbutrin or Buspar to you Zoloft. Both of these have been shown in studies to counteract the sexual side-effects associated with SSRIs.
He finally went to a Urologist who told him he doesn' t know why he would be experiencing pain, but maybe he has a fungus or infection. He was given zoloft for premature ejaculation and doxycycline for any possible infections and was told to put diaper cream on his glans. I'm not sure this is the right course of action, wouldn't I have an infection if he did? I've had no abnormal paps since this has occured.
Suddenly I started to feel that I am suffering from premature ejaculation. I will be married this year but maybe within 6 to 8 months. I am very worried about it because there is no long marriage life without sex. I have heard about Zoloft and Dapoxetine that they are good in this condition but never tried yet. There are also some side effects of these medications. But I need your help and advice that what medicines I should use or what I should I do? Sometimes I face erectile dysfunction.

-Occasional slow stream -false urgency -feeling of non-emptying of bladder during urination -Premature ejaculation For these issues I had a cytoscopy which came back clean, the doctor said the only thing he could suggest is that I drink a few alcoholic beverages and see if that relaxes everything. (this seems crazy to me).
Usually SSRI's decrease premature ejaculation. In fact it can make it downright difficult for some to ejaculate at all. Most 20 year old males get exited quite easily, so don't worry about that. it will most likley decrease with age. As one who suffers from General Anxiety Disorder and severe panic attacks (and depression) from my experiences, you have to learn to try not to worry about everything under sun. Get checked by a Doctor if you need to, but most likely everything is just fine.
I'm not on any medication currently. I tried Paxil and Zoloft (low doses for about 4 months) for my anxiety but neither of them worked. In fact, Paxil actually made me more nervous in social settings. I also found that the SSRI's helped me last during sex which was amazing for me except I couldn't reach an orgasm. The SSRI's made me feel kind of odd, like i was in a dream sometimes, so I stopped them. I have two more drugs I had interesting findings with.
Zoloft, Effexor, Cymbalta, Paxil, Lexapro and the Tri-Cyclic Nortriptilyne. For me they did not erase my desire for sex, or my ability to perform, but they did make Orgasm much more difficult to acheive. This is indeed a very annoying side effect to deal with. To deal with this issue I have found that if I do not take my morning medication until late afternoon after sex that it is much easier to have Orgasm although still much more difficult than if on no medication.
Profile: 22 year old male. Sexual dysfunction: ED(?), premature ejaculation, performance anxiety. *** TL;DR at bottom of post. *** Hi everyone. I'll start off with a little back story. Maybe someone out there is willing to read it all and possibly help me, or give me some input on my situation. In my adolescence, once I found masturbating, I never looked back. I would say my average was 2 times a day, sometimes more, sometimes less, sometimes none at all.
