Avatar m tn Hey, I was diagnosed with OCD among other things about 16 months ago, I experience the intrusive noises that you have described and I can also get words phrases diagrams, basically anything stuck on constant loop for extended periods of time. During my psych evaluation and therapy sessions I was told that this is typical of obsessive compulsive disorder, but it is probably not limited to OCD. Hope I could help.
Avatar n tn I noticed that you said that Zoloft worked best for your obsessive thoughts which I have a huge problem with. But I have been taken 200mg Zoloft for over 3 years now and I think if anything I'm worse than before. Do you know of any other antidepressant that may help with these type of disorders like OCD? I'm more of just a obsessive thinker than being compulsive though.

Avatar m tn I have been officially diagnosed with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (the sort that was originally called "pure obsessional") and Generalized Anxiety Disorder over the years. Over the last 6 months I have been experiencing a huge amount of financial and job stress, such that my doctor was concerned enough to put me on Paroxetine HCL (Paxil), starting at 25mg and now 30mg. It is the first drug I have taken for treatment of my issues since 1995 when I was on Xanax for 6 months.
11087138 tn?1415186820 i have a obsessive compulsive disorder from 7 years but i was finding my ocd from last 2 years and took medicatio......i have a obsession of repeat activity (like in office i type something again and again,i check which i write again and again, check mail again and again),, sexual thoughts, violence thoughts and everyday i struggle for doing basic things what should i do??????? at present i take medicine flunil-40 and flunil-60 as per my psychiatrist consult...
Avatar n tn Well this can happen with ocd, but I think it happens with a few other disorders like anxiety too. It usually takes more than one symptom to diagnose ocd, so I'd get a second opinion. Also when you say "therapist" do you mean a psychologist, a behavioral therapist, or a psychiatrist. Only dr like a psychiatrist or pcp can make a diagnosis, so if it's someone who can't prescribe medication, I'd find a new therapist.
Avatar f tn Agreed about hijacking the thread. I have obsessive compulsive disorder...not anxiety disorder.
Avatar n tn org/wiki/Tricho-tillomania Its a variant of obsessive compulsive disorder and can be treated with medications used for obsessive compulsive disorder. Look up that condition from that link I gave you or in general on the web and speak to a psychiatrist about it. Its treatable.
