I haven't taken any of the meds you're on, but I did have ED problems when I took Zoloft. It was either the Zoloft or the Atenolol for blood pressure. At any rate they gave me Levitra and I haven't been troubled by it since. I noticed the problem almost as soon as they started me on Zoloft. I'm not on Zoloft anymore but it isn't because of the ED. The levitra worked well for me.
lots of things is thought-about on why ED happens which has the employment of antidepressants. The antidepressant Zoloft for example, has listed erectile dysfunction as one of its side effects in men whereas Zoloft birth defects are listed in women. http://www.zoloftsertralinebirthdefects.
Cialis is a new medication that helps erectile dysfunction. It is in a similar class to Viagra and Levitra. Unfortunately, sexual dysfunction is a common side effect for Zoloft and similar medications (i.e. Prozac and Paxil). If this is a consideration, changing medications can be discussed. Other antidepressants, such as Wellbutrin or Wellbutrin XL, are another class of antidepressants that does not have sexual side effects.
OCD thoughts and compulsions started, feelings of depression, awaking at night, erectile dysfunction, anxiety, headaches, feelings of separateness.
During initial clinical trials of Zoloft , sexual dysfunction manifested primarily as ejaculation dysfunction (ejaculatory delay) and orgasm dysfunction (anorgasmia) was observed in about 14% of men on sertraline versus 1% of patients receiving placebo. Roughly 1% of men on sertraline experience impotence (erectile dysfunction). Libido decrease is reported by roughly 5% of males and females receiving sertraline combined.
Hi, Most of the antidepressants have the adverse effect of erectile dysfunction and ejaculation problems. Sometimes changing the medication does help in improving the symptoms. However, you can take Viagra after consulting your physician if you have the problem of erectile dysfunction. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Hello, Erectile dysfunction is a side effect of the drug Zoloft and your husband may be having the difficulty in orgasm because of this. I suggest your husband to get his medication changed. If the symptoms persist then get an evaluation done from a urologist. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
In my case Seroquel did not cause any erectile dysfunction but Zoloft did as well as Wellbutrin. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

I am presently taking zoloft, seroquel, klonopin and trazodone for generalized depression and anxiety. I am doing quite well and have been taking this combination of medications for about 1.5 years. I frequently have erectile difficulty which I can handle with Viagra but I have great difficulty with ejaculation. I feel like I am going to ejaculate but most of the time I can't. I know this is a problem with some of the medications I am taking.
Almost every day now, or so it seems to me, I am hearing from young people who are taking antidepressant drugs and who are suffering from a sexual dysfunction as a direct consequence. In men their dysfunction may be erectile dysfunction, loss of libido or sex drive, loss of sensation during ejaculation or loss of ability to climax at all.
-) Could you do the same sort of thing? I don't know how this works with men... does it cause erectile dysfunction? Or do you just not think about it? I just don't think about it, myself, not on purpose, but because of the meds. Hubby has to 'remind' me.
21 Dear RSJ, I am sorry to report that erectile problems maybe a side effect of zoloft and other antidepressant agents. Erectile dysfunction ranges from 5% to 25%, depending the medication and the population studied. The good news is there maybe modifications or medication that may help your condition.
I have not taken or even gotten the prescription filled for this drug. Can this medication also be the cause of my erectile dysfunction? This issue is becoming frustrating, saddening and even destructing to my sexual life. I'm young (hardly shy of 18), and I am clueless as to why this is effecting me. Anytime I engage in sexual activity, it ALWAYS feels great, physically and emotionally. I'm not sure that I'm nervous as I've become extremely comfortable and close with my current partner.
Anne, Celexa is a SSRI (serotonin selective reuptake inhibitor) antidepressant similar to Zoloft, Paxil, Prozac and Luvox. It is indicated for the treatment of depression and anxiety. Its mechanism of action is to primarily increase the bodys ability to utilize serotonin in the brain. Side effects are similar to the other SSRI's: nausea, diarrhea, dry mouth and sexual dysfunction. In general it is a well tolerated, non-addictive, safe and effective medication.
, and I can say with out doubt that I have erectile dysfunction or testrones deficiency?. What should I do ... very puzzled.
If you question what we are saying, go see a urologist that specializes in ER (erectile dysfunction) they will find out the cause of the problem and treat you for it. There is no reason to not be able to enjoy sex any longer. Please for your sake do something about it before more time passes. If you have lost other pleasures in life then you should see a psychiatrist. They can find an appropriate anti-depressant to manage your depression. As your mood improves your libido will too.

Beth, It helps a lot but its causing serious sexual dysfunction. Its causing erectile dysfunction and sometimes its making it impossible for me to reach an orgasm (both of which are very common SSRi related side effects). I am newly married and I cannot afford this dysfunction. So I have no choice other than to use an alternative antidepressant which doesnt cause much sexual dysfunction. And according to my doctor, Mirtazapine doesnt.
Talk about taking a health risk. With all of these erectile dysfunction commercials such as Viagra, it makes you wonder whether women are sleeping with their man or with the pill. Then there's the ad featuring a young woman smiling and sleeping next to her husband. She says, "I can't afford insomnia, that's why I take thalidomide. I feel great all day." Who knew that the answer to pure happiness could be found in a drug?
I am not aware of Benadryl causing erectile dysfunction. You are correct in that Cimetidine can cause erectile dysfunction. As to the cause, you may want to inquire about a testosterone level as well as studies to evaluate vascular flow to the penis. This can be done via an ultrasound. Time time it takes for erections to return after medication cessation would vary from patient to patient.

SSRIs can cause erectile dysfunction in some people but usually the benefits outweigh the risks. So you made a mistake and you feel guilty - that's entirely normal. That one mistake doesn't define you and you can still carry on with your life and be a good father and husband.
