Avatar f tn Background: Diagnosed w/ OCD (health obsessions, not compulsions), PTSD, PMDD, panic attacks So after 5 very unsuccessful attempts at managing my extreme anxiety w/ medication (psychiatrist & PCP), my [new] PCP & I may have had a breakthrough w/ Zoloft. I'm currently taking 25 mg (we started low due to my intolerance of other SSRI's), but this time we combined it w/ .5mg of Xanax (.25mg 2x/day).

Avatar f tn I've been on wellbrutrin sr 150 bid for almost 10 years for pmdd. the neurologist thinks it is the cause of my tremor and would like to change rx or stop taking it. I'm not past menpause yet. How do I know if I still need this drug for pmdd or if thew pmdd was just a transitional problem?
Avatar f tn I have also read about the weight gain with Zoloft when I started taking it for my PMDD. My doctor suggested uping my B vitimins to help with my energy & metabolism. I have been taking a B-100 once a day with the zoloft & have still been able to lose weight. Hope that helps.
Avatar n tn Let me ask you a question, what is your son being treated for? My son has been on zoloft for anixety for 10 years and he takes 50 mg and does real good. I suppose it depends what he his being treated for but to me that is a high dose. I would probably ask the doctor about taking a different med. Good Luck.
324184 tn?1308076203 Hey guys... I have been on zoloft for roughly two weeks... I am just now starting to notice that I am more calm and relaxed which is great for me b/c I am usually pretty high-strung and always anxious... [and my fiance even notices a difference]... my only concern is that I am also starting to feel like a "robot" and I feel very quiet... which is unlike me. Has anyone noticed these effects? Should I keep my hopes up that this will eventually fade? Any suggestions is much appreciated!
20632981 tn?1503687567 I'm taking Zoloft, ( generic Sertraline hcl) have been for 20 yrs. Dr. just put me on Wellbutrin (generic Bupropion hcl because Zoloft is not working that good. My question is, can I take Zoloft and Wellbutrin at the same time every day or should I space them out. If so how long of a time lapse??
Avatar f tn Im currently taking 100mg of zoloft for the past 3 weeks, started at 50 mg first week. I weigh115lbs. Ive read the following "correct dosages vary from drug to drug, based on your weight and severity of symptoms". Does anyone know this info for Zoloft? Im thinking about increasing the dose because im not feeling any difference yet? Comments are much appreciated..
Avatar f tn Also I have been taking a trazodone 50 mg at night and it really was a struggle to sleep when it usually knocks me out. Is it the Zoloft dosage increase?
Avatar f tn I WILL tell you that both Zoloft and Lexapro are very good choices for a medication to start with, to try for anxiety treatment. Zoloft remains the most commonly prescribed antidepressant for anxiety, and Lexapro is probably a close second. I personally have been on both meds, at different times, and both were very successful for me. Both are also typically fairly easily tolerated by most, which is why they're also good choices to start with.
20632981 tn?1503687567 I told my Dr I wanted to try another medication because the Zoloft I've been taking isn't working very good. So, she said she wanted me to go over to mental health because she didn't feel comfortable prescribing psych meds. I was put on Zoloft over 20 yrs ago for PMDD, that's what the Dr. said I had. Anyways, I did what she said and went over to see a Dr at mental health. So far I've tried Wellbutrin, Prozac, and Paxil they all make me feel really bad.
Avatar f tn He prescribed me 50mg of Zoloft for the first 4 days, then maximizing up to 100mg per day for another 4 days. After 8 days he wants me to take 150mg of Zoloft continuously. Along with Zoloft he prescribed me a half pill of Xanax every morning and another half in the evening for the first 10 days of the treatment only. I am kind of afraid and worried to start with all this dosage. Please i need an advice whether to start with this treatment or see another doctor. I am 22 years old.
Avatar f tn Personally, I would try the dosage increase of the Zoloft first before trying a new med, especially if the Zoloft WAS working for you. I was in a panic/amxiety support group years back, and I'll tell you that Zoloft was one of the meds that people reported the most significant progress with for anxiety/panic...including my own experience with it, which was very positive.
Avatar m tn On Zoloft 25 mg for 3 weeks. Initial terrible insomnia is getting better but still very tired. Sleeping 12-14 ours daily. Is this normal? Will it go away? Taking med in the morning and going back to sleep till 1-2 pm now. Will taking it at night help with the daytime fatigue or will it make insomnia worse? Will the fatigue make depression and anxiety worse if I cannot cope when school starts? Is Zoloft right for me? Should I be patient and wait longer?
Avatar n tn This is common for most women but the degree how bad the depression can be much worse for some women. I'm SO sorry you are one of those. It's hard, sweetie. I understand. There are psychiatrists that do treat women with this issue. Have you ever heard of Premenstrual Dysphoric Syndrome? https://www.womenshealth.gov/menstrual-cycle/premenstrual-syndrome/premenstrual-dysphoric-disorder-pmdd They normally treat this.
Avatar f tn My doctor just put me on 100 mg of zoloft for anxitey/stress/depression. I really dont know if i need that high of a dosage. He also told me when it was time to get off of them that i could just stop taking them and i would be fine? I have always herd that you need to gradually do it expecially since i am on 100 mg. Does anyone know anything about this?
