I've tryed zoloft but didnt do the trick, but paxil [paroxetine] does.Once a day keeps the insanity at bay. xanax is real nice for a short time. If I where to have trouble at night I would save that baby for bedde bey.
After recovering from breast cancer, I was prescribed a series of medications to treat depression and anxiety. I was put on zoloft at first and then switched a few years ago to 40mg of Paxil along with 25mg of xanax daily. I still feel anxiety and depression, however, and am afraid these drugs no longer work or that I have become immune to their effects. Should I be expecting the dosages of these medications to change over time? Is it normal to prescribe these drugs together?
I being taking xanax for almost a year and my doctor prescribed me zoloft to stop xanax, how can that be? dont know how will that affect me I am kind of scare of using both at the same time, any answer on how zoloft works?
You should believe your doctor, he wouldn't mix drugs together if he knew it were dangerous. You can take zoloft and clozenpam together. Hope you feel better. Hang in there.
It lasts for about 15 minutes and then stops and I fall back asleep. I am a bit fearful and worried if I should continue the zoloft. I didn't have panic attacks this severe before taking the zoloft. Has anyone else experienced this? My doctor just prescribed Klonopin for me to take in the event I need to calm down. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
just my opinion....i was started on zoloft and xanax for panic/anxiety attacks. The longer I was on the zoloft the less I need the xanax. In fact, I haven't taken xanax in years.....the zoloft has totally controlled my attacks.
She wrote me a prescription for Celexa but the drug-information sheet listed the same side effects as zoloft so I decided not to start that medication.....I did advise her of one of my friends who also took zoloft and then celexa but also had bad side effect....Her doctor put her on xanex and she has had no serious side effects.....The doctor said that she would not prescribe me xanex because of my previous admitted drug/Alcohol addictions.......
Now they took me off klonopin an put me back on xanax. I am now taking 4mg a day 1 and a half pills every 4 hous. I am still very shaky and lightheaded at times, my pulse is always at 98 or higher, Why? Why me?
one more thing, the extreme mood swings are from the drugs. both the xanax and paxil can cause severe agitation, palpitations, anxiety and anger issues when stopping. It may be he goes on a binge, then doesn't have any for a few days and thats when he 'acts out'. Two things: 1.
I take xoloft and xanax, and have taken them together for over 10 years. I took xanax exclusively for a number of years before that. Let me just say, there may be memory loss in association with taking this medication, but it allows me to live a somewhat normal life; not housebound, and able to attend church, weddings, etc. Write directly to me at ***@**** if I can be of any further help. Help is out there now......get it, don't stay afraid forever, because you don't have to anymore.
The zoloft is an SSRI and xanax is a benzo and they are often prescribed together. The key to doing this correctly is that they are prescribed by your doctor and he/she knows what you are taking; don't do it on your own.
I know these are a lot of questions, but the main ones are, how long will it take for the zoloft to work? Is it okay to take xanax and zoloft together? Am I going to have to be on medication forever, or will this pass? I understand how confusing and jumbled these questions might sound, but any type of advice or answer would be extremely helpful. I just want to understand why my body is doing this.
Now my untreated Severe Depression and Anxiety made me feel Psychotic. The zoloft and xanax worked to make me feel normal, focused, calm, and level headed. It would be important for me to mention that I was also 25 years old before I was treated with AD medication to correct my severe symptoms. I have heard stories of people under the age of 20 having adverse Psychotic reactions to SSRI medications like zoloft.
I have now been put on 50 grams of zoloft a day, and also two dormicum sleeping tablets a day, and also 2 to 3 mg of xanax. The problem is that I am now still feeling so depressed and partly anxious, i have been taking extra .5 grams of xanax to calm down.i know this is idiotic and alsobeen trying take extra meds a day to just get through.
Has anyone taken zoloft and had it affect there nsvt?? I have nsvt and im afraid to take zoloft. Any suggestions?
I just wish that so many people put so many negative posts about xanax and zoloft!! zoloft AND WILL POWER/BRAIN POWER IS GOING TO CURE YOU!!
I tend to replay events that happened during the day and worry about them at night (even before I had my third child and got on zoloft). The zoloft has really improved my quality of sleep. Again, thank you ( and your husband) for the advice. It's nice to correspond with someone who understands my feelings.
Personally, I would try the dosage increase of the zoloft first before trying a new med, especially if the zoloft WAS working for you. I was in a panic/amxiety support group years back, and I'll tell you that zoloft was one of the meds that people reported the most significant progress with for anxiety/panic...including my own experience with it, which was very positive.
When I was talking to her my mind was racing and I was really shaky. I don't think the zoloft is helping and I don't know about the Klonopin yet. I hate to go back to the doctor and talk about his with him. You think he would've realized how bad the situation is when the counselor called his nurse and was explaining what was going on. Like I said, she didn't see how we could make any progress talking until we get my anxiety off the high level it is now. What do you think I should do?
I have been down that road before, and it scared the heck out of me until I understood that it was part of the package. zoloft is an SSRI antidepressant...and while it doesn't have any SPECIFIC anti-anxiety properties (like a benzo...Ativan, xanax, etc)...it works to basically increase the amount of serotonin in the brain....leading to an overall improved state of mind, which in turns decreases anxiety.
ativan(lorazepam) is very similar benzodiazepine in chemical structure and in its effects to alprazolam(xanax) and also shares the same abuse, dependence, and addiction liability. i was taking originally 6mgs a night for insomnia and panic attacks starting at the early evening and taking it up to going to bed.
I am not sure if that is from the zoloft or anxiety. I did not get a script for xanax. I took xanax last year and did not like it. I was too scared to try it again. I found that when the xanax wore off my anxiety was worse than before I took one. I have been dealing with this anxiety for a while now, so I am happy to FINALLY be doing something about it! Thank you for your help! I am thankful people like you are here to help others' out!
Is it ok to smoke weed and use xanax together? It seems as if weed would be good for anxiety because it calms you down. I would rather use that then xanax because of it being so addicting but I'm scared to smoke again. I read some good and bad experiences of smoking weed with anxiety and I think the bad ones just scared me. I hate all these feelings and I just wish they would go away. I have a counseling appointment in a couple days and I hope that will help. Any advice?
yes xanax and alchol are a deadly mix... take it from me! I was prescribed xanax and zoloft about a month ago for anxioty and depression.... I was aware of the dangers of mixing xanax with alchol and considered my self a responsible adult. But as of last friday night 12/15/07 I didn't take the drug xanax mixed with alchol seriouly enough. I had taken 2/ .5 ml for a total of 1ml of xanax at aproximatly 10:00 pm that evening....
i h avent had a attack in 5 years suddenly i was haveing stress at work and had 1 and was put on zoloft and xanax and have felt like crap since. had to take 2 weeks off work even because this made me so physically sick .
I was in a birth club and everyone seemed to be going through the same thing, so I figured it was normal. After I was prescribed zoloft, didn't work and xanax but only 10 by my OB. I hated the zoloft after a month but loved the xanax. I had to get a primary care provider to get more. In the meantime a family member gave me a ton of xanax. I was popping them like candy because I had no idea how bad they were. I was given 1 mg a day by my new care provider.
I know I need to get off the zoloft before taking the Zyvox but is that dangerous to wait three or four weeks before starting the antibiotic? The doctor told me to stop zoloft and start the Zyvox. I have tried stopping zoloft before and started having problems such as tingling around my mouth, etc. It's not pretty. Do you think I could take 25mg every other day for a week and then stop and get on the Zyvox? Will xanax help with some of the anxiety during the process?
